Serenity in the City. I was raised in Manila and nearing my senior year but shame on me for never visiting Paco Park ‘til today, Feb 25, 2022. The park is very spacious and enclosed, making me feel safe and secure. It’s a wonderful place to stroll, exercise, do tai-chi or just sit and relax while savoring the clean green surroundings. The grounds are very well tended with flowers in full colorful bloom. Trees, grass and other plants are lushly green. Birds chirp above and around, feed on the grass while cats lazily lick themselves. The park is pet friendly as visitors walk their dogs. Just be sure to leash ‘em and clean up “their mess, ” says the Security Guard. It’s really so beautiful, peaceful and serene in the park. It made me forget I was in the middle of the city! Notable mentions: There’s a security guard at the entrance. No entrance fee. The rest rooms are clean and spotless at past 8AM. Hopefully, they’re well maintained throughout the day.

This park is beautiful and very peaceful in the morning. I visited the day after a tour of Intramuros where the guide told me about Paco Park. If you are interested in history and you want a beautiful setting to read about the history of Manila and the Philippines, you should definitely add this park to your sightseeing list. Do keep in mind the somber history of this site and remain respectful.

One of the oldest landmarks in Manila, the Paco Cemetery now known as Paco Park was inaugurated 200 years ago. The cemetery, designed based on the masterplan of Maestro de Obras Nicolas Ruiz, was completed on April 22, 1822. Its construction began in 1814 and served as a burial ground for victims of cholera epidemic in 1820’s prior to its completion. Dr. Jose Rizal was secretly buried at “Rizal Tomb” after his execution on December 30, 1896. This was also the final resting place of the three martyred priests – Fathers Mariano Gomes, Jose Burgos and Jacinto Zamora.

What makes this park unique is its serenity and orderliness smacked in the middle of a chaotic and suffocating area. Just come here if you want to take a brief break from everything! Practice your faith by indulging in the spiritual (the St. Pancratius Chapel has 2 Sunday evening masses..at 5pm and at 6pm)...or just walk around the park and feel history around you...thank you for maintaining this peaceful place!

On an early Sunday morning I visited Paco Park simply to walk around the elevated walkway encroachment. I enjoyed the serenity of the place finding just a handful people doing simple exercises or breathing some fresh air Just missing the Sunday mass and concerts on Fridays.

Visited unexpectedly when we pass san marcelino st ..it brought me back to my highschool days during mid 80s when open spaces, parks were the hangouts of teenagers on a budget. And our music teacher compelled our class to watch Paco Park Presents, an array of musical performances every friday afternoon. Originally named Cementerio General de Dilao,a recreational park and once a municipal cemetery built by the Dominicans during the spanish period.. Its charm lies on it unique design a circular enclave, add to its old structure , stories of creepiness, ghost and spirits.

No entrance fee to go here. It's a park that has a small chapel inside. They are open until 5PM only. Restrooms were closed when I tried to enter them. I saw some kids playing badminton, and some adults jogging here.

Very nice very clean and good maintenance having covid19 regulations security very polite and helpful Beautiful garden historical part of city having national hero Jose Rizal first burial site B4 moving to luneta park and memorial. Plenty of tree covered sitting areas from the sun having lots of path ways and along the perimeter walls there's a chapel and water fountain in the centre beautiful nice and peaceful bit of fresh air fro the busy city I would give it 6 stars if the chapel was open and fountain working

There's a certain eerie vibe as I enter the place. You can see that it's a historical place not only because of the marker on the walls of its gate but also because of the vintage appearance it has that was still well-preserved and taken care of.

A quiet place to remember its historied stories and the national hero's secret burial for days to prevent rebels from from using as fodder for a brewing revolt against Spanish dominion and abuse. Good job for maintaining an aura of serenity and greenery.

Hidden gem at the heart of Manila. For so many years, I just passed through this park til the pandemic when I discovered it. The park is enclosed with walls with one entrance securely guarded. There are park cleaners to ensure that fallen leaves are swept neatly. Pets are most welcome, too, making the park a top favorite of mine. No worries if you wake up late because the shady trees provide shelter from the sun’s heat.

The place is conducive to relaxation! Very nostalgic and has historical significance. We always go to this place during college, for a team building session, practice session if we have student organization activities | Pregnant with my first child - Carl Jacob Revilles. This was taken inside Paco Park during the Accountancy Week program (Leadership Training) of the Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA) wherein my husband Jay Revilles was the PRESIDENT.

A tiny park which has a cemetery entombed within the walls of the park. This cemetary was built just before a cholera epidemic and as a result has many children within its walls. When we went there they were renovating the children's section.. The chapel was built for funerals but now holds mass on the weekends, We were fortunate enough to go there five minutes before mass began. You can walk on top of the walls as well as the many paths of the park. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. We were staying in the hotel across the street so access was easy. This cemetery was the original location where Dr Jose Rizal was buried from the time of his death until 1912.

Eventhough this place is small, it's really nice because it's quiet and maintained clean. The trees and landscapes are beautiful. For the animal/cat lovers, they'll really like this place because there are some cats inside, most of them are tamed, was able to pet them. Haha.

A beautiful circular cemetery from the Spanish colonial period that is now a park, wedding and events venue. It is also where the remains of Jose Rizal, patriot and hero, were interred after his execution in Luneta but exhumed and transferred to the Rizal Park now. It's a place of contemplation and greenery.

Serene and quiet. Perfect for contemplating. The chapel is also air conditioned. Would recommend holding your wedding or attending Sunday mass here. It's also a mini park so you can roam inside the vicinity and just appreciate nature.

I don't see ticket counter here or staff, so we just walk in inside of the park We were so lucky when we visiting this place, there were not so many tourist. It's just seeing some students passing by and also local peoples who was sitting in the park near the fountain This place is just peace full, calm, feel like far away from noisy the stree of Manila. The church also beautiful but I think we can;t look inside, sitting under the shadow of the big tress after hot temperature in Manila feel so good.

A hidden gem within Malate. You will find only a few tourists but lots of locals from students to OAPs. Outside the walls, the usual cargo traffic, noise and pollution. Inside a peaceful little park that offers endless possibilities to rest and take photos. Make sure you sign the guest book when entering and bring something to drink since there are no vending stalls inside

It's an old cemetery, located in Paco, Manila. This place has free admission. It is open until 5pm. Another interesting here is Padre GOMBURZA buried here.

  • 5/5 Jommel D. 4 years ago on Google
It's a nice and quiet place to enjoy fresh air. The ambience is really peaceful given that it is surrounded by roads with cars passing by. The trees provide enough shade and buffer from the outside noise thus giving it a solemn atmosphere. If you're nearby, it's not a bad idea to visit this small circular park and take a while to appreciate nature and it's surroundings.

Very rustic old charm. But a lot of things need an upgrade. The bathrooms for one are 3rd rate. The organ in the Church is defective and the plank of wood it sits on is a safety hazard. Also, the speakers sound horrible.

It's chilly yet warm , relaxing yet kinda sentimental when you take a stroll around this historic mini park. If you've been to fort santiago think of this as a smaller sibling with a lot of historic roots. If not for the tall buildings around take a min of breathtaking moment when you are transported to the past hispanic era when it's cultural heritage are still well preserved. Better drop by and learn a bit of history here and more on Dr. Jose Rizal. If not just enjoy the view or hear mass. Thou it has limited parking slots.

I love the park but was quite disappointed by the church. I was expexting an old church but I think it's already renovated and the looks is quite giving the modern vibe. Parking is outside the park so it can be a bit messy if you're attending a wedding in a long gown and at the same time it's raining because of the long walk to the church plus the street outside can be flooded. In a good weather this is a nice place to take your family or kids and maybe even friends to hang. If it's raining I wouldn't recommend going here
