Casa Manila was built in the Spanish colonial period style. It is a museum that aims to showcase the typical Filipino home, albeit a rich family's home, during the time when the Philippines was a territory of Spain. It has three floors and is a self guided tour. You can take pictures but without flash, but video recording and touching of the displays are strictly prohibited. At every floor, you get a chance to see how a guest room, bedroom, kitchen, and even the toilet looked like many hundreds of years in the past. The inside of the museum and its vicinity definitely takes you back into the past. There is a small entrance fee, about 75 pesos, which is not much considering the experience and knowledge you will get from a visit here. It is highly recommended to take a tour of this museum and enjoy a trip down history lane.

How colonial lifestyle during Spanish colonization in the Philippines? Visit Casa Manila, then. For just below 100php you can roam around the museum as much as you want, but remember stay on the red carpet. 😊

Casa Manila is a museum in Intramuros depicting colonial lifestyle during Spanish colonization of the Philippines. 📍 Casa Manila is located at Plaza San Luis Complex, Cor. Real & Gen. Luna Sts. Intramuros, Manila. It is easily reachable by jeepney or taxi, make sure to tell your driver to drop you off at the cultural landmark. Entrance fee: You have to pay a minimal fee to enter Casa Manila. Take note that students, teachers, and senior citizens have a discount.

Entrance is near the San Agustin Church. You have to have the “StaySafePH” app installed in your mobile phones (for contact tracing for CoViD). Every person in the group needs to have this to register and be admitted in the compound and museum. Php75 is the price for admission to the museum. You are only allowed to walk on the carpeted path and of course are NOT allowed to touch the display. The place is beautiful. The intricate designs of the furniture is amazing. You get a glimpse of the life of the past. Please make this an itinerary when you visit Manila.

Casa Manila is a perfect place to take pictures. They definitely give the old and classic manila vibe. The guards would ask you to download the staysafeph app to fill up a health declaration form, so be sure to have the app ready and you have data connection before going there.

A beautiful place, now with several options for restaurants, cafes and shops. The old colonial architecture, especially the fountain, reminded me of being in Seville or Granada. A must see if you are walking around Intramuros.

For me the must see place of Intramuros. It really takes you back to a bygone era being a beautiful Spanish style Villa. It is now the hub for man bars, restaurants and a hotel. As such t tends to e very busy, making taking photographs a challenge, but well worth persevering.

So from the sounds of it this was a former home once in the past, but it’s a really cool place to sit down, eat or drink something to relax for a bit. Plus then take some great photos, and just admire the work of art this place is. I guess the only thing that hit me a bit was getting bugged by a few of the locals trying to advertise some rides or things to purchase. If it wasn’t for that, it would have been a 5 out of 5 experience.

This great museum brings the visitors back to the colonial times and shows how the Western style houses could match with Chinese and local influents. Great mixture. The patio with fountain in the middle completes the whole picture . Absolutely worth white to visit . Equally to recommand a lunch in Barbara's heritage restaurant , in the same building. Nice experience !

The Casa Manila is a showpiece and a tour de force structure recreated by the Intramuros Administration to preserve and encapsulate the Spanish colonial days within the islands. Inside you would find antique pieces of furniture and woodwork that was prevalent during that time. It exudes the ambiance of what it was like to live in those bygone days when the Spanish Monarchy and the Roman Catholic Church prevailed in the lives of Christianized Filipinos.

The interior of this museum is mainly made of wood, I think teak - definitely a house of rich people. Nothing much info about the house too. I love the surrounding of Casa Manila, just like we're in Spain with a fountain in the middle. However, its nothing much, to me its just like a house tour. 😅 Will I come here again for the tour - NO. But there's a lot of cafes and restaurants here - WORTH to try, plus point, its an instagrammable place.

5 STARS. I RECOMMEND IT. It's very well worth it to go for a tour, which only costs P75 ($1.50 USD) It shows the luxurious mansion of a Filipino-Spanish haciendero during the Spanish Colonial times, very well preserved, and it shows a glimpse of the past. If you're going to Intramuros, this is a MUST SEE. P.S. the cafes and restos on the ground floors are great too!

Casa Manila is an AMAZING PLACE to visit! You must come here when you visit Intramuros. It feels like stepping into another time. I never imagined such a classy place like Casa Manila in the Philippines. I pictured how life was in those days. It's delightful to see old rooms transformed into commercial spaces like shops, restaurants, and offices. There's even an exhibit area. Sadly, we couldn't enter the museum, which I assume is the best part. The price didn't fit our budget then, and we had more places to visit before sunset. But I'd love to return and explore all the things they offer.

The place is like a palace. It's like visiting palaces in Germany. What ruined our day was this guard. We were not advised that videotaping was not allowed at the entrance. They just say no flash photography. So we were video recording when this rude guard told us " para san ba yang video nyo? Kanina pa kayo e! " then I ask him, it's not allowed? He said no. He could just tell us nicely. But it's like we did something really bad. What a disgusting attitude.

The entrance fee to the museum was very affordable 75php for regular and 50php for students. I long to come back here since the first time i came here was when i was in 6th grade way back in 1987. Love what they've done to this place! The Philippines isn't the best at restoration, but this place is quite decently done. Located right beside the San Agustin church, they turned this ancient Filipino mansion into a commercial area with cafes, restaurants, a museum, and a few curated shops. All of the places are tucked in rooms and alcoves of what I assume to be an old Spanish-era casa surrounded by the only remaining cobblestone street within Intramiuros.

Nevertheless, you can see lots of coffee shops here so you can reenergize here after a long walk inside Intramuros. Must try is Barbara's restaurant. 😉😋

Casa Manila is inside Plaza de San Luis. It is a cute place to look back to the Spanish household life. We got in using the intramuros pass from klook. I recommend that you dont book ahead cus my friend suddenly wasn't able to go. It is seamless, yet i can't predict the outcome. I like looking at artifacts. It turned back time to 1800s when we were still colonized by them. Funny thing why there are chinese double happiness lamps there. This is a time capsule of old Manila. The site is very well presented and preserved. The tickets are also very fairly priced and the guides are cheap and knowledgeable. It is important to remember that you must stay on the red carpet for the first part of the tour but during the second half it is more of a free roam experience.

Beautifully restored place, not all historical, but giving a feeling of 19th century Intramuros. It reminded us of Mexico, a very romantic place with lots of photo motifs. You can rent bamboo bikes downstairs. Upstairs is a museum with colonial furniture and interior design. Casa Manila looks like a colonial house in San Nicolas built around 1850. It was constructed on behalf of Imelda Marcos in the 1980s.

Probably one of the weaker attractions within the city of Intramuros itself. It's pretty much a freeform walking tour where you are pretty much left to your own interpretations because there aren't any assigned tour guides unless you already paid for one to take you around the city. If you already have a grasp of Colonial Philippines then there isn't much of anything new over here. If you are in the area, feel free to look around but don't expect a long explanation about the purpose of certain rooms and items within. The plaza outside is beautiful though. But that isn't a part of Casa Manila itself.
