The Dolomite beach isn't a sand beach. Do not expect sand. It's a beach made of small rocks of dolomite, despite the mainstream media. It's very pleasing to the eyes and just Refreshing to see in a populated highly urbanized city. The breeze seem better. I went there one morning to skate around. However, it was WEEKEND when I visited and did not foresee the crowd. There were cyclists, old, adults, and toddlers walking around the Bay Walk and to the Beach. So many people around not following local guidelines. There are many soldiers at bay, enforces, and guards to organise the people. Perhaps the people were excited about its opening and flocked in there from the whole Manila Bay walk to the roads. I hope that when the Manila Bay is finished, there will be more effective crowd control so that people can prevent getting sick from each other, especially during COVID pandemic.

Come for the sunrise or sunset because it’s a beach. It’s made of Dolomite so the grains are a bit rougher and larger than typical sand but it suffices. Well located in terms of closeness to popular tourist locations. Bring your boo or walk around here solo to ponder life’s greatest challenges, accomplishments, or mysteries. Bring a book or come with friends. This beach like life is what you make of it!

I don't recommend it for tourists. There are other far nicer beaches than this artificially sanded one. The place is always maintained with crews of sweepers and strict regulation of bringing plastic bottles inside. The place has always been a beautiful site for sunset watching except it's now cleaner and without smell. The view of the ongoing reclamation is somehow nice to look at. Also, there's a dude doing magic shows near the exit gate.

The beach was very clean when we arrived at 8am. My kids love it here, and we will definitely visit again. The rehabilitation of Manila Bay is really great, we even saw a few tourist there. It's also amazing that some grass / plants were growing along the beach. The air smells nice and the splash of water along the shore is like music to my ears. Kudos to the volunteers and Government workers who clean the Dolomite Beach every day. I would highly recommend every Filipino to visit this place. Our trip to Manila was a memorable one.

This is a man-made beach on the coast of Manila Bay. From what the sign says, this used to be a very polluted area with a lot of trash. The city cleaned it up and made a beach to beautify the community. They did a great job! That's a nice place to come for a beautiful view of the bay.

Mixed-feeling about this place. While the beach could look as spectacular as famous white sand beaches around the Philippines especially during sunsets (one famous feature of Manila Bay even in textbooks), the trash and dried water lilies brought by the water made it look dirty when we visited. Also, dolomite is not natural and real sand, so they are washed away especially after strong rains. They just replace the "lost" dolomite with another batch of dolomite, which is a waste of taxpayer's money. Aesthetically-speaking, the beach looks good, especially in photos (with a bit of finding better angles and not including the trash), but sustainability-wise, it's questionable. Hope the management can maintain the beach in a more sustainable way, and people will wake up and stop polluting our waters! One redeeming factor of Manila Bay is the cool sea breeze against the hot Manila weather. By the way, entrance is free, but no swimming allowed. I doubt you'd consider swimming once you see the water.

Entrance is free, but you can't bring food inside. There are only 3 parasols so you'll be basking in the sun for your entire stay here. The public restrooms was unavailable for use. They have a medic station near the entrance. The "sand" are huge pieces of rocks. Over the horizon, you can see huge ships dumping sand for the Manila Bay Reclamation project. Such a bummer that the Manila Bay sunset wasn't like it used to look like.

We went here for the opening, and it was fun. It's so nice to see and experience Manila Bay at sunset. It's so great to see Filipinos enjoying what they deserve to have. You can park across Roxas Boulevard.

When you think Manila could not get any worse .. visit the Manila “baywalk”. It sinks to the recesses of disgusting. The poor street animals wander in despair and death on legs. Manila City is simply disgusting & I would only recommend this city to someone I secretly HATE haha. I can find not a single redeeming feature of this place.

Manila Bay is one of the famous place in the Philippines. Manila Bay has a scenic view especially during the sunset. The view of the Sunset is wondrous. I really Love here, the place is very relaxing, calm and chill. The wave of the ocean sounds Best to my ears. I am so Blessed that I visited here. Although I am Alone, but I enjoyed exploring the place. The Manila Bay is now Cleaned and still renovated by our Government. Keep Clean our place. Thank you and God Bless. Take care and Keep Safe to all Tourists. Choose Manila Bay, Choose Philippines. It's more Fun in the Philippines.

very good ambiance, the best!... i am ver thankful for the government of the Republic of the Philippines for making this site very beautiful, clean and clear sea, best places to visit here in Manila, previously it was very dirty full of garbages around and very bad smell.. and now, it was the best place you should be missed.

Kudos to the government for their efforts even if it's surrounded by controversy. The place is clean and orderly. There are no benches to sit down on so people sit by the dolomite sand. Food is not allowed inside to avoid trash. Those who'd like to eat can do so outside as there are plenty of street vendors around. For those who need parking, you can park across the road and just cross the pedestrian flyover. We went at 4pm and the sun was still hot but there's a good crowd already. Although for a holiday it's not as crowded as I'd expect. Bring umbrellas as there's no shade. Best time to go is towards sunset. Bring a blanket if you plan to sit down and watch the sunset.

(Translated by Google) The TV presented the rehabilitation works of Manila beach - a project wanted by President Duterte and the mayor of Manila Domagoso - but which is severely challenged by the opposition who made an ignoble sabotage, poisoning the fish… I took pictures on TV. On Sunday 20 September Manila beach was opened to the public to allow you to view the rehabilitation works that are coming to an end. Manila Bay is flanked by Roxas boulevard which has a baywalk for a strip of maybe 2 kilometers starting with a beach from the USA Embassy to the south. They built containment systems and barriers for the silt, finally dolomite was crumbled to obtain the sand that was scattered in abundance. I went to browse, and I found almost 1 km of pinoy tail flocked to see the beach, many on bicycles, festive and composed. I found the baywalk all up for construction… and it smells like sewer. A lot of police regulating the influx to the beach, TVs that film the event. After a bit of a very slow queue, I gave up and took a picture of the beach from afar. How do you vote in these conditions? But I have to, and I assign three balls, then when the work is finished I'll come back to reassess.

(Translated by Google) As of September 23, it is off limits from Monday to Friday as it is still under construction. Open to the public only on Saturdays and Sundays. I went there on weekdays so I couldn't enter the beach and watched from the outside. As far as I can see from the outside, it is very beautiful. I hope Manila Bay will become more and more beautiful. Nice place to watch the sunset. Really good view. Not much else. It's a beach-themed place. Not really a beach. You can't -and seen no one- swim and filled with small grovel spread along the area. Again, real nice for a sunset watch outing.

Somewhat place that you can enjoy the bayside with the family. No swimming in the area though. Plenty of Foreign Tourist goers are seen as well. Need to bring umbrella, shades and sunscreen for those who wish to visit the place past 12nn for better experience of the sun (para sa di maaarte, and for less people around). BEWARE lang, if you wish to ride the Kalesa, it's 500php for 30mins.only and 1,000php for an hour, but the tour around the Manila Bay, Luneta (facing the Rizal Monument), Fort Santiago, Intramuros, National Museum is really worth seeing! Specially if you have kids born 2010 onwards, so they can see what's within the grounds.

It's not too bad. You can't swim, eat, spit or just about anything there. The rocks in the sand make it hurt a bit when walking barefoot. But it's way better than what was there before. There's a separate entrance vs exit gate. The exit gate is first. Currently the toilets are porta-potties. They aren't very nice to use. They are effectively a long drop. But there's proper toilet facilities being worked on and looked like they were under maintenance. Thankfully it's free to enter but it seems to close around 6pm or maybe 6:30?

The 2km promenade is a hub of cultural hotspots, live performances and cafes. Renovations on the baywalk limited our view of Manila Bay during our visit, but we still loved walking along this vibey stretch. About mid-way, you can turn off towards the Ruha Salayman Monument and continue across the road to the Malate Catholic Church to add a little more history and sightseeing to your outing!

The newest attraction in the city of Manila. The used to be largest garbage bin of metro manila, now cleaned and have a make over to become a tourist spot of the city. A very controversial project because it was Built in the middle of covid 19 pandemic. But it is all worth it. You can see the happiness and excitement of people visiting the place. A one of a kind. A must place to visit if you are stuck in metro manila and want to see some sunset view. Clean and still under improvement.

To see the majestic sun rise, you may opt to go early at Manila Bay Walk where you will see the amazing horizon and the yachts docked nearby. The sea reflects the clouds and yachts and high rise buildings along Roxas Boulevard. You may jog, walk or play badminton and even do fishing on specified areas only. Because of the diligence of the administration of Mayor Isko Moreno, the Manila Bay Walk attracts more migratory birds in wait for its prey fishes which comes in schools. Thanks

Seeing in person @ManilaBayDolomiteBeach is a proud moment and at the same excitement. Most of the time I monitor the evolution of the development of the controversial Dolomite Beach in Manila Bay. Having a chance to visit it and touch the ground is a momentous event for myself and my family. You will see the plaque engrave on the stone. The picture of the before and after when it was full of garbage for full 30 years without resolutions from previous administration. The Manila Bay Dolomite Beach is one of PRRD contribution and Legacy. You can say to the future kids that I witnessed the transition of manila bay from the filthy garbage bay to now what you see white dolomite.

PERFECT VIEW OF SUNSET. There is not much to do here apart from sunset viewing. A really nice spot to watch the sunset, tho sometimes it could be too crowded because lots of tourists go here for the same reason. It's clean and has no foul smell anymore. Outside the area there are few food choices to choose from. Although no picnic/food allowed, it's understandable knowing that some people could be leaving behind their trash. But as someone puts their trash in the right place and who comes here more often and dedicates time to watch sunsets, it would be nice to have been allowed to bring foods since there are people/authorities who roam around that could help and remind the visitors to not throw away trash just anywhere and have a designated bin. The downside is the restroom, it's not allowed to be used and not sure for what reason. I hope they do something about it too, cause the place is cool.

Finally had the time to set foot on this artificial beach along Manila Bay. It is a good place to escape the concrete jungle of Metro Manila, even for just a few minutes. The view of the beach and bay is relaxing. There are security personnel and beach cleaners to maintain order and cleanliness of the place. Entrance is free, but you can not bring any food and drinks inside the beach area. I did not like the fence on the whole stretch of the Roxas Blvd Baywalk. I guess this was done to keep the public from littering the bay since it can wash ashore the artificial beach.

The view was spectacular. The smell, not so much. You will see a row of carts selling the same snacks and beverages, and a couple of "massage parlors" where you can sit back and relax while a local massages your aching feet. Perfect place to take photos, in the morning, afternoon, and especially sunsets. 5/7 would come again. P.s Don't litter

We went here with my friends at around 4:30 PM 'til we see the sun set. I have never appreciated sun sets before until I saw it at Manila Baywalk. The government was not starting the rehabilitation of the bay yet when we went there. There were no fences and all but it's a lot cleaner now. The only problem was the smell of the dying sea, but the good thing is people start to cleanse it now. There were street foods when we went there but we didn't try it. There are street lights for night times and benches if you just want to sit listening to the sound of the waves, and feel the sea breeze with, I think, a bearable stench. No entrance fees. Didn't see any security guards roaming around by the time we went there, make sure to keep your things properly looked at. I gave 3 stars for the sun set view. I'll write a review again when I get there. God bless!

As of Feb 24, 2021, the Manila Baywalk is under renovation. The sidewalk is still available for joggers and bikers, though you may need to reschedule you trip when the weather is bad as the pavement may get muddy when the rain pours. The construction might last until April of 2021. Moreover, the infamous Dolomite beach is under constant maintenance as the rainy season might have washed away the artificial sand. Expect its availability to the public when summer comes.

  • 1/5 Nico Samneil S. 3 years ago on Google
It is supposed to be beautiful but people with their undisciplined attitude destroys it. It smells bad and trashes are everywhere. The dolomite made it worse. A poor move provided by the government in restoration of it. No police is roaming to provide security, even lighting is busted.

They say it's a beach but it's so small. So many people here without social distancing during covid times. So crowded and they say there are pick pockets here. It smells bad sometimes and has lots of trash despite the redevelopment. You can't even sit down to enjoy as there's so many people and its so small. Be honest, it's not a beach and they spent lots of money on this too.

I love it that we can now access the beach in the city. I love sunrise at the beach so we left my house at 5:00 to catch the sunrise at 5:34. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that the beach is on the west side of Roxas Boulevard until we got there. Although we didn't see sunrise at the beach, I'm pretty sure, sunset there would be pretty spectacular. We'll try to go back at the beach to see the sunset. 💕

I was here in February 2009, a sidetrip we had when we got back from CamSur, with my co -NSPC delegates. Manila Bay was totally different site before, it's chaotic, contrasting sight was seen-plenty nasty trashes were everywhere in the shoreline, and nearby, gorgeous luxurious yachts were on display. But NOW, Manila Bay Dolomite Beach is a beauty to behold.Well, you've got to see it for yourself too. I hope it will always be well-maintained.

  • 5/5 ELMER R. 1 year ago on Google
It's good to be back in Manila and visit this controversial DOLOMITE SAND it was good because of its improvement. There are lots of people who cares in that area they pick some garbages in the shore unlike before there's plenty of carbage, but now it's LONG BEACH VIBES IN THE CITY =) 🚩 NO ENTRANCE FEE 🚩 Swimming is prohibited 🚩 NO littering

  • 2/5 Bryan S. 1 year ago on Google
One of the most uninspiring beaches I've seen anywhere on the planet. You wouldn't want to go swimming there and I doubt it's even allowed. Just offshore there are floating booms and several hundred meters out there are assorted merchant vessels, since after all the place sits near the business end of Manila Bay, just south of the port. Onshore, the main attraction seems to be a large hunk of granite placed there by the government of President Duterte, along with tons of dolomite grit that was dumped and spread out as a top layer over whatever polluted sediments lie beneath it. Signs are posted letting it be known that it is a criminal offense to remove any of the grit. There is a decent view of Mount Mariveles, a dormant volcano at the southern end of the Bataan Peninsula. The view was mostly obscured by clouds during my visit but on a clearer day, I'm sure it would make a good photo. The beach sits right next to a busy road into the port. On the other side of the road, be prepared to see homeless people, often whole families, sleeping on pieces of cardboard and making small cooking fires from scavenged bits of wood. But don't worry, those unfortunate souls won't bother you if you go to Dolomite Beach. The numerous security staff prevent anyone who doesn't look right from entering the grounds.

  • 4/5 Mazen K. 2 years ago on Google
Not open yet to public. But is allowed to enter for a quick photo op on the sidewalk. Looking good. Not as smelly as before. Big improvement in the area.

The small part that is finished, and partly already looks like it is decades old again, is quite okay. Rock Garden is already closed again. It will probably take many years until the section is finished. Speed is not the order of the day and neither is proper workmanship. If one part is finished, then the other is already moldy and is hardly or not at all maintained. Still, it's quite nice there to take a break. The air is much fresher than in the city.

This park by the bay is still alive and kicking. The sunset is still what makes it magical. Find the right weather and you can see it in its full majesty. Manila Bay used to be smelly and a terminal for garbage drifted by the waves. They rehabilitated it now using Dolomite which was a controversial move due to corruption and environmental destruction due to mining. But despite of that, people flock to it most especially the tourists who are already in the Manila area and regular Filipino families who just want a quick stopover. The entrance is manned by security guards and just outside are the food and memorabilia sellers. Downside is it could get crowded at times and garbage can still found in the shoreline. It's also not the usual beach you are thinking.

  • 5/5 Cosmas N. 9 months ago on Google
It's one of the most interesting places in Manila for having some relaxing time while enjoying the beach. It's very best spot also to see a sunset....

  • 4/5 Said M. 8 months ago on Google
You must realize that this is not a beach for swimming, but a place for walking. Beautiful views of the coastline and the sunset. Interestingly, there is almost no sand there, but fine dolomite rubble. There is security, trash bins and a small market nearby. You can take a horse-drawn carriage ride along the beach.

  • 3/5 Mark Michael C. 9 months ago on Google
The Dolomite Beach is way, way better than the previous view of the Manila Bay. Before, it was a shameful reminder how Manila Bay has degraded. Now, it looks very decent. The breeze though carries the garbage scent and the garbage from the sea gets to the shore but, regardless of that, it is a much more acceptable scenery.

  • 3/5 Viet Anh V. 5 months ago on Google
It is cleaner now than it was in the past but because people have gathered here a lot and the public toilets were closed, the situation is not pleasant. I don’t understand how they can put tons of money on it, built new toilets even with air cons and then let them go broken! It seems it was months already but nobody cares to fix it. Otherwise, the sunset is still the same, beautiful. Only the perfect serene picture is messed up by the Manila này reclamation ships. Is it worth going here? No more than before.
