A very beautiful park. With some lovely views and stunning fountain. It was very enjoyable to walk around. There are some food stands close by Rizal monument and some beautiful side parks. Great place to have a small picnic with friends and/or family. Please clean up after yourself. Also there are horse and carriage rides to other places like Manila beach. Take your time when you are at the park and enjoy the view.

I love the dancing fountain! The place is nice and clean, though not much of social distancing was observed, but not one area was crowded. Nice place to hangout with friends and family. Though some parks like the Japanese park is still closed.

It was a very nice and spacious park. The breeze coming from Manila bay keeps your mood cool even in a hot sunny day. At night, the dancing fountain entertains the visitors. A lot of historical attractions and monuments can be found and take photos here. This park is both relaxing and informative It is perfect for educational field trip, family bondings, and soul searching.

Premier park of Manila. It is easy to spend an afternoon and evening here taking the various attractions in. The Chinese garden was a particularly nice place to chill and relax. In the evening at dusk the Dancing Waters with its accompanying music is a must see. I also like the imposing Philippines flag on a windy day when it’s fully unfurled in its full magnificence.

Surprisingly, Rizal Park is clean and guards are everywhere. It's just hard to find a parking space nearby. You might want to see the dancing fountain before 6pm. There are photographers who offer their services for 150 and you will get 2 photos.

A beautiful space dedicated to the Philippines' national hero, Jose Rizal. As a Filipino, I felt compelled to come learn and pay my respects to Tito Juan, a man who sacrificed everything for the freedom of his countryman and the love of the land his blood comes from. There is his monument and the space where he was executed, both places serve as reflective points. Then there are other parts like the dancing fountain, Chinese and Japanese gardens, and a LACMA light pole installation. It makes it nice for people come to to and enjoy the space and I'm grateful they don't interfere with the area which honors Tito Juan. For Filipinos, it's a must come. For everyone, please enjoy all this space has to offer!

This is a historical place in Filipino history. This is not enclosed, its "open " area. This is considered sacred ground, one area is closed off and guarded by PHILIPPINES Marines. The general public is not permitted in this area, similar to the guarding of the unknown soldier here in the United States

Must visit if you are in Manila. Place is guarded, so you can walk inside peacefully. Many people will seat on the grass and chill. You can buy some streetfood/snacks and drinks from the stands. From Rizal park you can access aChinese park too.

A large park with a few attractions such as museums and gardens. It's a nice way to spend time while being stuck in this hell called Manila. A few street vendors are present near the entrance of the park, which might be useful in case of hunger. Inside this park there is also the monument of and the martyrdom of Jose Rizal (last one is a paid attraction) The museums are free and are very interesting.

Was here with my friends again. Rizal Park always don't disappoint. Wherever you set your eyes upon you always see green. Free music that you can hear in most spots as there are scattered speakers. There are lots of people visiting the place and it's no surprise. The park is too big that it can accommodate, I think, millions of visitors. There are terrains where people are not allowed to seat on, security guards are strictly implementing it. There are limited benches. And there aren't much street food sellers roaming around. Make sure to be there at Rizal Monument by 6PM. It's always fun to see how the watchers replaces each other. There's also a ceremony in doing that, it comes with a marching band which adds to the attraction. God bless!

We stayed here for one night. The public spaces are well renovated, the rooms though are in high need of renovation. The staff was friendly but nothing exceptional when you consider the room prices compared to service you get in other places in town. The breakfast was well below average. To be fair this is all during the post-opening due to covid restrictions, nonetheless this has been rather disappointing.

A large clean park in the centre of the city which offers a great location to escape the bustle and noise of the city. There’s plenty of seating throughout and lots of things to admire, from the main monument to the Chinese garden and market stalls. Covid restrictions mean you can only enter / exit through designated gates, with the need to have your temperature checked, but it’s no hassle and certainly a place I’d recommend wandering through on a visit to the city.

I really wanted to go at night to see the lights/music shoe at the fountain but unfortunately we finished this area earlier in the day and it wasn’t worth going back just for that. It looks neat from what I have seen though. The park itself is nice and spacious so therefore relaxing.

The park is refreshingly green and clean and health protocols are followed. Only 1 entrance at Kalaw near the blvd for pedestrians or bikers. The accessible part of the park is the area between Orosa and Roxas. There were many bikers and traffic rules need to be followed. It is open between 5AM and 9PM. I have seen many people take selfies at the Taft 'Rizal Park ' signage at daytime and twilight when the sign is lit up. Fountain show though dancing waters has its' own rhtymn.. still a sight to behold.

This is a very memorial palace for the history of the Philippines. A very must visit place for every Filipino. Since it is my first time visiting here I am already amazed with the view. Very historic place and it didn't fail to emphasize the history of the Philippines which is the essence of having a historical park. In weekdays we can really enjoy the place since there are only few people walking around, but on weekends I think there will be more people. I love the availability of alcohols in every corner which are important to maintain health protocols. The place is well guarded and it is nice to see post guard standing besides the monument. The park is clean and well maintained, you can also grab some foods in the stores located outside the park. You have a flexible budget you can hire authorized photographer in the area, they are very friendly and capture nice photo of you. Please be reminded that you should keep off the grass and careful not to damage any sculptures. I hope you will visit the place and support our local historic sites, vendors and business enterprise. If you are concerned if there is any restroom, I don't know but I think there is, you can just ask the guard or other tourists.

This park is one of Manila's historical landmarks. Families, couples, joggers, and people from all walks of life can be found roaming around its premises. During the evenings you can view the spectacular fountain show that dances together with the music. Park personnel can photograph and print your memory inside the park for a mere amount of 50 pesos(roughly a dollar).

Rizal Park, located in the heart of Manila, is an iconic destination that encapsulates the rich history and culture of the Philippines. This sprawling urban park is not just a green oasis amidst the bustling city, but a poignant tribute to the nation's national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal. One of the most striking features of Rizal Park is the towering monument of Dr. Jose Rizal himself, which serves as a symbol of the country's struggle for independence. The beautifully landscaped gardens and serene lagoon make it an ideal spot for relaxation and leisurely walks. Visitors can immerse themselves in Philippine history by exploring the various historical markers and statues within the park, each providing insights into the nation's past. The Light and Sound Museum is a must-visit, offering a captivating audio-visual presentation about Rizal's life and the Philippines' quest for freedom. Moreover, Rizal Park hosts various cultural events and gatherings, making it a vibrant hub of activity. Whether you're strolling through the park's pathways, attending an event, or simply enjoying a picnic with loved ones, Rizal Park is a place that offers both beauty and historical significance. In summary, Rizal Park is a cherished landmark that not only preserves the memory of Dr. Jose Rizal but also serves as a symbol of national pride and unity. It's a place where history, culture, and nature converge, making it a must-visit destination for anyone exploring Manila.

The historical place is Educational by seeing monuments and having a bonding time with family and friends. The place is used by students as studying hub and practice area, families as picnic site and tourists for educational visit. Some museums are not always open, which left the guests disappointed. The only worse I observed is the garbage of people visiting and residing around the park. There should be a regulation and relocation site for these people to keep the park at its best.

Rizal Park is one of the major tourist attractions in Manila. The park has been a favorite spot for unwinding, socializing, relaxing, jogging, strolling, and bonding among families and friends. At dawn, different groups gather here to practice martial arts. There are also some photographers around the park so if you want to have some photos beside the monument, they are always prepared to take pictures. The park has an Open-air Auditorium where long running concerts take place. The park is so large. Some of foreigner coming here like me to learn the history of that remarkable place and the man called Jose Rizal. (19.11.17)

Manila historical location... Come here 2017.... Rizal Park's history began in 1820 when the Paseo de Luneta was completed just south of the walls of Manila on a marshy patch of land next to the beach during the Spanish rule. Prior to the park, the marshy land was the location of a small town called Nuevo Barrio (New Town or Bagumbayan in Tagalog language) that dates back to 1601. The town and its churches, being close to the walled city, were strategically used as cover by the British during their attack. The Spanish authorities anticipated the danger posed by the settlements that immediately surrounded Intramuros in terms of external attacks, yet Church officials advocated for these villages to remain. Because of the part they played during the British Invasion, they were cleared after the short rule of the British from 1762 to 1764.The church of Bagumbayan originally enshrined the Black Nazarene. Because of the order to destroy the village and its church, the image was transferred first to San Nicolas de Tolentino then to Quiapo Church. This has since been commemorated by the Traslación of the relic every January 9, which is more commonly known as the Feast of the Black Nazarene. This is why the processions of January 9 have begun there in the park beginning in 2007.After the clearing of the Bagumbayan settlement, the area later became known as Bagumbayan Field where the Cuartel la Luneta (Luneta Barracks), a Spanish Military Hospital (which was destroyed by one of the earthquakes of Manila), and a moat-surrounded outwork of the walled city of Manila, known as the Luneta (lunette) because of its crescent shape. West of Bagumbayan Field was the Paseo de la Luneta (Plaza of the Lunette) named after the fortification, not because of the shape of the plaza which was a long 100-by-300-meter (330 ft × 980 ft) rectangle ended by two semicircles. It was also named Paseo de Alfonso XII (Plaza of Alfonso XII), after Alfonso XII, King of Spain during his reign from 1874 to 1885. Paseo de la Luneta was the center of social activity for the people of Manila in the early evening hours. This plaza was arranged with paths and lawns and surrounded by a wide driveway called "La Calzada" (The Road) where carriages circulate. During the Spanish period from 1823 to 1897 most especially in the latter part, the place became notorious for public executions. A total of 158 political enemies of Spain were executed in the park. On February 17, 1872, three Filipino priests, Mariano Gómez, José Burgos, and Jacinto Zamora, collectively known as Gomburza, were executed by garrote, accused of subversion arising from the 1872 Cavite mutiny. Firstly, I really wanted to give a 4-5 stsr rating. But there were a couple of major considerations that pulled the rating down. The location is the old Army Navy club. The renovations are really good, ambiance and feels are that of a high end hotel. Ample parking too. Food (Chinese cuisine, there are others, but I wasn't able to ) is pretty good too. I was told the chef is Cantonese. So that a good thing. However the prices are on the high side, and not in accord with the food quality. Let me clarify, food was good, but not at the prices they were charging. And 120 php for a small bottled water is way out of line for me. Service was acceptable. Nothing special. But the way the staff were behaving from the guard at the entrance, to the waiters, gives a gov't run institution feel. Which in the FnB Industry isn't good. There is a feeling of the waiters waiting for gratituity. And leaving their posts, to do something else for tips. Hopefully, they could correct this. Hope to have helped.

We had a good stay here. The hotel has beautiful architecture from it’s days as the Army/Navy club long ago. The breakfast buffet, which was included in our rate, was very good. Service was good overall. Very clean. The food we ordered from room service was also very good. Location is great because you can walk to Embassy, Rizal Park and museums, and Intramuros. Security was attentive. There is also a 7/11 close by for your snack needs. It is a lot less expensive to stay here than the nearby Manila hotel. We will stay here again during visits to Manila.

Everything happen here was my first, upon entering to the parking going to entrance lobby up to its aile and events room. I found the place more of classical, remembering our historic times, spacious parking, good food as always been traditional. The staffs and manager are very friendly as well the security guard. All I say that the events was a huge success, everything first including our National President complete with national directors of architects. Thank you Rizal Park Hotel for the contribution, and a well customer service experience you have provided to you. I'm sure I will revisit this again. Mabuhay!!

Great place for an afternoon walk and to watch the water fountain light show at dusk. Free for all, you can do a lot of activities and even bring your furry friends. Great for picnics and sitting around to observe people. Best for simple dates and family bonding times.

One of the country's historical place in the city. Beautiful sculptures, gardens, and a nice sight for families' or friends' picnic and bonding. Though lots of people went here and it's in the city, it's a serene and calm place to be. Aside from this, there's a lovely musical dancing fountain everyone can enjoy to watch.

Very nice park centrally located in Manila and just outside Intramuros. You can visit here for free and spend time in the many open areas. Initially built in 1820 for other purposes, but the Rizal Monument was built in 1913 to honor Jose Rizal and guarded 24x7 by the Philippines Marine Corps. There's many sites to see in the Park from the numerous gardens, Auditorium, Independence Flagpole, Fountains, Lagoon, etc... Great place to visit, see the sites, and to learn & appreciate the Philippines history.

As a student Rizal Park was a good breather for a nice air. I usually goes here watching the sunset. The main reason I god here is to jog. Now the place was alive with alot of tourist visiting the park. The place full of activities because Rizal Park was near three (3) museums that are FREE to visit to the public. Just follow the rules and always bring your vaccination card upon entering the museums. The dancing fountain was still running and bring joy to the people visiting the place. Hungry? No problem! There's a lot of street vendors, fast food and fine dining near Rizal Park. From singkamas, manga, taho, Jollibee, and many kore to offer. The Park closes at 10pm

I had been returning to the Philippines every year for the past 17 years and had overlooked Rizal Park as a place to tour. First, the obvious, I've outgrown the park in size, and it's not as big as I remember it to be from childhood. I was pleasantly surprised, and I enjoyed the visit relearning the history.

We've visited this nice well-kept park with many trees during the day. I especially liked the huge mango trees. You can walk and run in the park. During the nights you can enjoy with a show of fountain dancing

As one of the country’s major tourist attractions, I’m glad that they are keeping Rizal Park in such a good condition. Visited here on a Sunday with my family and the place was clean. There were other families having picnics, simply strolling around, and taking photos. There were also lots of trash cans around which I appreciate

It's a very big space in the city for strolling. No. It's actually too much. It's almost a place suitable for jogging only if you intend to circle the park. Nevertheless, it's a nice place to be because its location is quite convenient from other attractions like the National Museum.

Rizal Park also known as Luneta Park or simply Luneta, is a historic urban park located in Ermita, Manila, Philippines. It is considered as one of the largest urban parks in Asia, covering an area of 58 hectares (140 acres). The site on where the park is situated was originally known as Bagumbayan during the Spanish colonial period. It is adjacent to the historic Walled City of Intramuros and is a major tourist destination in the Philippines. Situated on the eastern shore of Manila Bay, the park plays a significant role in shaping the history of the Philippines. The execution of Filipino patriot José Rizal on December 30, 1896 fanned the flames of the 1896 Philippine Revolution against the Kingdom of Spain. The park was officially named in his honor, and the monument enshrining his remains serves as the park's symbolic focal point. The declaration of Philippine independence from the United States was held here on July 4, 1946, as well as later political rallies, including those of Ferdinand Marcos and Corazon Aquino, the latter having culminated in the EDSA Revolution in 1986.

Not bad. Plenty of space for casual biking, jogging, group exercises. Enough photo opportunities for those who love snapshots. The Orchidarium was closed for renovations. The Japanese Garden was closed too. Not the kind of park for those looking to escape from the city or concrete jungle. The concept here is more on featuring culture and for providing a venue for public events and activities. There doesn't seem to be a designated parking area for park visitors. I had to park at a nearby museum, which is normally not allowed, but I asked nicely and promised to stay only an hour. :-)

I love what they did to Rizal Park. They added christmas lights to attract visitors plus the dancing fountain is superb. There are also many guards roving to make sure that people practices social distancing, etc. Would definitely go back. Though some portion of the park is not yet open to public, I'd say, Luneta is still the best place to spend family time in Manila.

This beautiful park is precisely on Jalan Roxas Boulevard. Because it is spacious, cool and its beauty is very prominent, this place is a favorite for local residents and travelers to relax, take a walk or exercise. Inside Rizal Park, there is the Jose Rizal Monument, which is the name of a hero from the Philippines who was shot by the Spanish Colonial for opposing his occupation. This monument was built around 1908 to commemorate the heroes Dr. Jose Rizal. In a large area there is a pond decorated with a fountain which adds to the beauty of this garden. Coupled with the statues of half-body Filipino heroes lining the edge of the pool. A garden with nuances of Sakura, Japan, China, an orchid garden and a butterfly house are also there. The Lapu-Lapu Monument is opposite, which is across Jalan Maria Orosa. Lapu Lapu was also a Filipino hero who earlier opposed the Spanish colonial existence. In the vicinity of this monument there are the National Museum of Natural History, the National Museum of Anthropology and the National Library of the Philippines Building. Mabuhai Philippines. It's my first time to go back in over six months and I can say they were pretty strict with regards to their safety protocols, which is a good thing. The food was tasty and their waiters were attentive, so those are also pluses. When I came out, it was raining outside and their doorman wanted to assist me by carrying my stuff while holding an umbrella over my head as I walked to my car. I declined and opted to just borrow their umbrella, but it was still a nice gesture. And last for this review, their bathrooms were clean and frequently sanitized thus my five stars. :-)

Rizal Park is open for visitors, but you'll need to log in to a contact tracing app before entering the premises. People are allowed to do jogs, but are reminded to keep physical distance. Fountain displays are available during late in the afternoon when it's nearing night time. Restrooms in the park is not that great, but is kept clean and has plenty of ventilation. Availability of running water may vary. Disclaimer: this experience was during quarantine restrictions where people are allowed to visit public parks at limited capacity.

I can tell that the place is nice and beautiful. I appreciate their easy check in and friendly-accommodating staff. I was fascinated with their rooms, big bed, big room with digital clock and air conditioning..everything for me is perfect.. My experience is unforgettable for me.😍😍😍

The place looks beautiful. Lets you feel the surrounding of beautiful old style but modernly done...though when you enter it isn't very big, but the color n decor does make you feel at ease with familiar environ. The facade of the hotel front is very nice, you would like to look at it longer. Was unable to take picture tho. Was there for a wedding reception. Ballroom is nice, but has comment on the entourage long table. Tho the green decor is soothing to the eyes but the height is not high enough n it blocks the view of the stage area, even though there were screens where activities were projected...but altogether...nice...a beautiful place. Well, wasnt able to look around but saw the video of wedded couple of the area. Maybe next time. Try go and see...

  • 4/5 Sebastian 4 years ago on Google
Grand lobby and modern ballroom. We attended a wedding and stayed for three nights. The staff is extremely nice and helpful, really walking the extra mile for the guests. Junior suites are pretty, clean and spacious. The location is convenient but in close proximity to, so it seems, a dilapidated neighborhood (bonfires at night, people sleeping on the streets next to Rizal Park). Downpart is the breakfast buffet with disappointing quality and not enough options for a hotel of this price and star range, here is major room for improvement. The attached casino is also somewhat disconcerting as the crowd seemed to be strange and not quite fitting the history and concept of the place, more the addicted gambler kind of type, it seemed, than respected evening players. Check-out duration was a bit lengthy but again, extremely friendly and helpful staff. Overall, 4 stars then, though please do improve the breakfast quality and open it until 10.30 a.m.

The hotel staff were very accommodating. We had no issues during check-in and in our room. The security and safety were also adequate. It's a good place to stay. Short walking distance if you're also planning to visit Manila Ocean Park.

The only complain is the meat served were very hard to chew. It would have been nice to have a buffet style serving for the P6K price.

Rizal Park is one of the most important places in the history of the Philippines. This is the place where the Philippine national hero Dr. Jose Rizal died for the country. Other important historical sites are also near the area like the Quirino Grandstand, National Museum, Intramuros. These are my photos during the Independence Day celebration which is commemorated in Rizal Park. In general this area in Manila is worth visiting if you want to learn history. You can travel to Rizal Park via LRT-1 and dropped off United Nations Station. You can take a cab or a tricycle.

Entrance is located just across Mercury Drugstore. There's a free parking provided for Luneta Park goers.. Only one Entrance and Exit for Luneta Park premise.. Restrooms can be found upon entering the park( right side) , beside Rizal Park Visitor's Center. Few vendors roamed around while in the Park. The place is safe for everyone.

This is a restored hotel. This was the army navy club before and got restored into a hotel. It's nice and classy with an old world appeal to it. The rooms are nice but a bit pricey and though the location is by Manila Bay which gives a nice view, the location isn't near any CBD or shopping area. The Chinese food they serve here is excellent

Rizal Park, nestled in the heart of Manila, Philippines, is a haven of tranquility and an emblematic tribute to the nation's hero, Dr. Jose Rizal. As a frequent visitor to this sprawling urban oasis, I have been consistently captivated by its serene beauty and its role as a historical and cultural landmark.

Luneta park is one of the best place in manila where you can bring your children and family, place where you can commemorate the history of Jose Rizal, the Philippine heroes , also this place is open for educational tour, which describe the events in life of Rizal ,also serves as playground for kids, dating site for couples and offer other recreational activities just like playing badminton and valley ball, picture taking is free of charge not unless you get the help from local photographers, you can help them by paying 150 pesos for 2 person, take note this place is no entrance fee, so come relaxed and enjoy.

A beautiful park has music fountains in evening. There are Japanese garden, Chinese garden, monuments, fountain, auditorium etc.. inside the park. Security guards are in front of the entrance. It is near museums. You can walk to museums in a few minutes.

Beautiful public park. It is also the largest public park in the whole metropolis. It is the burial site of one of the nation's most famous heroes, Dr. Jose Rizal. It is an open space with lots of trees and green areas with some features such as the largest relief map of the Philippines, national museums, library, gardens, monuments, fountains, statues, etc. The "kilometer zero" marker is also found here.

A great experience, a relaxing place to hang with friends. Recommended to visit between 5-6pm for the fountain show.

First time to visit here and it’s way better than I expected. The place was not crowded, maybe because it was a Monday afternoon. It was drizzling when I visited so that may have affected the number of visitors. One thing that caught my attention is the KPOP music played during that time. 😆 as a historical site of the Philippines, it would’ve been better if national musics are played or at least OPM hits.

Our best experience at Luneta Park was a perfect blend of relaxation, laughter, and cultural appreciation. As a family, we spent a delightful afternoon picnicking on the lush green lawns, surrounded by the iconic Rizal Monument and beautiful gardens. The kids played joyfully. Maraming Salamat Manila!

I have no problem with the place. It's the photographers who scams you with saying photos are only 50 pesos then you ended paying 200 because they took 4 photos. Which is still affordable. But the quality of the printed photos are still from 2005.

Lovely and spacious park. Went on Christmas Day and it was a concert like vibe with families and friends hanging out and having a good time 🥰 Chinese garden was a nice, peaceful and interesting designed area.
