Forever chaotic, confusing, and noisy...this place of my childhood is a great rediscovery, with good prices on fruits, eats, and other items and services. I even recently tried getting a massage at Lacson Underpass and it was decent. It's again my usual weekend destination..

Nowadays its very clean and organized unlike before. But still keep a sharp look out for snatchers and holdupers. There are Policemen in the vicinity but due to the number of people around itll not be possible for them to monitor each and every visitor

Must visit near Quiapo Church(Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene) and Police Station for security. -1 for locals there and garbage . Watchout for pickpockets/beggars at makukulit na tindera/tindero for souviners

Plaza Miranda today is no longer as uncluttered as it was at least some 60 years ago. No longer does it host political and social rallies. Instead, it has become a de facto outdoor venue for Catholic worshippers who cannot be accommodated inside Quiapo Church, especially every Friday and Sunday. Church officials have installed large TV screens outside the church so worshippers can still hear mass without getting inside. At the plaza's perimeters are still the sidewalk vendors. There is a newly erected police station. Nevertheless, pedestrians and worshippers know they still need to keep an eye on their personal belongings whenever they are in the area.

I took this photo before the City of Manila cleaned the place last saturday. I hope to take a new photos of this historical place next time I visit. I am excited to see the changes. I hope the vendors and visitors will maintain the cleanliness of this area.

Worth it for a while coz atleast we have time to visit the church and pray for all. Well secured for the safetiness from covid-19 infront of the church but when going outmost part no social distancing at all. Vendors shouldn't be allowed there since they don't observed social safety measures.

Sunday Mass (03/06/22) Sobrang daming tao. Some are not even following social distancing kahit na may mga nagsasaway from parish to stay on the yellow circle. Pipila ka if you wanted to go insidw the actual church but if not you have to suffer under the sun.

You can pray and attend mass at plaza Miranda as the Quiapo church get easily filled with devotees. Safe distance with other devotees must be observed to avoid the spread of virus.

Plaza Miranda is a public square bounded by Quezon Boulevard, Hidalgo Street and Evangelista Street in Quiapo, Manila. It is the plaza which fronts the Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene (Quiapo Church), one of the main churches of the City of Manila, and is considered as the center of Quiapo as a whole. Inaugurated in its current form by Mayor Arsenio Lacson in 1961,[1] it is named after José Sandino y Miranda,[2] who served as the Philippines' Secretary of the Treasury between 1833 and 1854.

Quiapo is the first place that my wife has to visit when we arrive in Manila. Cleaner now than when we visited in 2016. Social distancing is not a thing anymore, but you must wear a mask to come inside the church. Saw a little girl asleep on the overhead walkway when leaving the church. She was with nobody, I hope she is okay. There are lots of homeless and poverty in this country.

Plaza mieanda is very well knowned when you said Quiapo church. There's a lot of vendors of sampaguita outside the church, some of them Give you a free item, don't accept it, they will trick you especially the kids, they begging you to buy but they sell you an expensive prayer beads so always be aware. Other than that you can find goods beside the church. Plaza Miranda is also known for buying cellphone case and repair shop, you can find here cellphone and laptop parts for a very low price.

A very busy market area. Lots of goods, especially fruits and vegetables. Always be cautious though, and be mindful of your personal belongings such as mobile phones, wallets, etc. Wear your backpacks on your chest if you bring one, and never flash your gadgets out in the open.

  • 5/5 Erwin S. 3 years ago on Google
Nice place to walk around. Many food vendors where you can taste street foods of Manila.

  • 5/5 Grace D. 3 years ago on Google
this place was once full of vendors and beggars asking for alms but not used as a church extension to accommodate more mass goers because of needed social distance. There are painted marks on the floor that will tell where you should stand when you want to attend mass.

  • 1/5 Rico E. M. 3 years ago on Google
Social distancing is only implemented inside the barricade that encloses the church and Plaza Miranda but immediately outside the barricade, anything goes. There are police visibility yet no crowd control. No reminder about 2meters distance between each vendor that also contribute to the multitude of people wanting to visit the Quiapo Church. A lot of those Street vendors are removing their mask and does not use face shield. This mentality would allow for a rapid transmission of the COVID-19 virus.

  • 5/5 Joseph F. 3 years ago on Google
Still the best for fresh vegetables and native crafts. I feel safe due to police visibility, looks organize and neatly arranged vendors..it reflects how the LGU work so hard for everyone else welfare. thank you to unsung heroes behind.
