A church worth visiting and its in Manila. Its facade gives an old baroque style architecture and its front end is facing Manila Bay. Well made and both can beautifully viewed of its time endeavored exterior and naturally lit well preserved interior. This church has a very large floor area and ceiling that has architectural accents and colored window glasses with religious designs. No air-conditioning but has very good air circulation due to its spacious halls. Place is kept clean and neat. Caretakers are making all the health protocol guidelines strictly. Has an exclusive parking as well so no hassles in making your visit. They also have a place on the other side of the parking area where you can offers your candles too. During our visit, the facade and walls are under construction so we were unable to see its beauty, nonetheless, those mosses hanging on the facade are beautify. wWhen the British landed on the shores of Manila in 1762, they used this church as one of their headquarters. Because of its topography, the structure was damaged and rebuilt several times due to natural calamities like earthquakes and typhoons. During the battle in World War II, this church was destroyed by fire. 08/2014

Solemn place of worship in the middle of busy Malate. It has seen the radical changes in the area but still manages to keep its identity as a house of prayer. The park with a fountain in front would have been a major plus but unfortunately, the area stinks. Calling out the officials of Manila and this barangay. This is a tourist destination and a historical site, not an informal settlement.

It's very solemn despite the small or average size of the church structure. The image of Our Lady of Remedies stands so stunning in the center of the altar retablo in her rightful place and has withstood here despite the ravages of time and historical battles in the City of Manila.

This is a very old church. I always remember this church. When I was in manila, I went here for Mass and got my statue of St Michael the archangel blessed by a Caucasian priest here. The priest said his Blessing by dedicating me to St Michael. This Catholic church is one of most Beautiful and oldest churches in manila. I would love to visit it again if I will go to Manila.

Nice church in the middle of crowded city with tall buildings. It’s an old church, can be seen from outside and inside architecture. Also the chairs tables that looks not new anymore. Not too big church though. Went there during the Ash Wednesday morning, quite full people also attended. Mass went well even with some minor disturbance on the sound system. All the servants were prepared well. Really love this church.

A very beautiful church. Regretfully, the last time I was inside this church was so many many years ago, when I attended a Christmas performance of the magnificent Messiah oratorio by the great George Frederick Handel. And I asked one of the violinists if people still stood up for the Hallelujah chorus - as tradition demanded. He smiled at me and replied: "Let's see if they will." It was heartwarming that people still do. It was such an awe-inspiring moment. A wonderful music, in one of my country's most beautiful churches.

Malate Church was first built in 1588 and was dedicated to Nuestra Señora de los Remedios. The statue of Our Lady of Remedies was brought over from Spain in 1624 and continues to stand at the altar to this day. The church is a Baroque-style church over looking Plaza Rajah Sulayman and ultimately, the Manila Bay. My experience with this church is spectacular.

The place is so ancient that the structure symbolizes the along history of prevailing catholicism in the country's capital. I observe that a lot of wedding took there, so obvious by its romantic scenery. Its high walls promotes solitude and isolation from virulent sounds of traffic surrounding it. I see both richness of Philippine history and God's holiness whenever I passes by and look at it.

Garnering its name from Malaat referring to the salty water of the bay, the Our Lady of Remedies parish venerates a statue of the Virgin Mary at the altar, brought from Spain in 1624. Within the church grounds stands a Pieta in honour of the people of Malate who were Massacred in 1945 and the 5 Columban priests who remained with them. The church was also razed to ashes by the Japanese Troops in very same year. Since it’s final reconstruction began in the 1950s, this Boroque-styled landmark has been loved and cared for, even winning the highest award given by the Cultural Center of the Philippines in 2015.

Malate Catholic Church ⛪ Plaza Rajah Sulayman Park ⛲ 🚩 This Church is dedicated to the patroness of childbirth, Our Lady of Remedies (Nuestra Senora de Remedios). What stands in the altar today is the statue of the Virgin Mary brought from Spain in 1624. 🚩 The church has a Baroque style, and faces a small parl called Plaza Rajah Sulayman, as well as Manila Bay. It is one of the oldest churches in Manila, which has been built in the 16th Century by the Augustinians at the very same spot. 🚩 Despite the big renovations, the design of the church has not changed, so you can still expect to see the beaufiful architecture and Baroque style up to this day. Aside from the statue of the Our Lady of Remedies, you can also find other images of saints inside; all of which were brought by Father Jose Guevarra. #VivaManila #NostalgiaManila

Nuestra Señora de los Remedios (Our Lady of Remedies) in Malate, Manila. This is one of the Historical place in our country. Many Tragedy and events witnessed by this Church. It is still strong church, because this is one of the Baroque Churches in the Philippines. From the belfry down to the down. This is Mexican Baroque. I am so Blessed, that I visited here. Thank you Lord for guiding my way.

This is an old Catholic church located in the malate district of Manila. This is a tourist area so there's plenty of interesting things nearby as well as restaurants. It's also near the Bayside so you can smell the sea from here. Aristocrat which is one of the oldest restaurants in the country is nearby. You need to be watchful when you're in this area as there are a lot of beggars and kids.

The Our Lady of Remedies Parish is located at 2000 M.H Del Pilar St. Malate, Manila. It’s Mexican Baroque architecture enhances the beauty of this church more so it’s facing the waters of Manila Bay.

GOING HISTORICAL™️ Parroquia Nuestra Señora de los Remedios (Our Lady of Remedies Church) Also known as Malate Church, circa 1864 📌 Malate District, Manila There was only one church in Malate in 1591 and was heavily damaged by an earthquake in 1645. Construction of a new brick church began in 1677 by Fr. Dionisio Suarez, however the British occupied the church in 1762 and left it in serious damage. A typhoon eventually destroyed the church. And so, in 1864, construction of the third church, the present one, started by Fr. Francisco Cuadrado. The design of the church facade is unusual because there is an interplay of Muslim design and Mexican-baroque style. Malate Church is one of only two in the country that has twisted columns projecting a colonial style where the design of the facade lies the significance of Malate Church. On 22 April 2023, the National Museum of the Philippines declared the church an Important Cultural Property. Malate District, together with Ermita is considered as the CBD of Manila. Footnote: (While we already finished the #GoingHistorical Series featuring all the Spanish-built churches in Cagayan, we don't stop there. We go beyond Cagayan with the same purpose of reliving the eternal legacies of colonial Spain that shaped the lives of the Filipinos). #MalateChurch #GoingHistorical #RemediosChurch #MalateManila

The church is easily accessible, just by MH del Pilar street and fronting Rajah Sulayman park. The facade of the church is a good example of the baroque architecture. The pieta statue at the right side of the church is noteworthy. The church grounds are clean and quiet despite the location. They have a 7am mass and during weekdays there aren't many churchgoers at this time, hence the mass service is more quiet and serene.

Our Lady of Last Remedies Church( or more popularly known as Malate Catholic Church ) is that church within the stone throw of the famed Aristocrat Restaurant. Once upon a time Manilans living in the Malate San Andres area spend their Sunday early mornings attending the mass service here then lunch at Aristocrat followed by a leisurely walk at the beeakwater near the United States Embassy in Roxas Boulevard. Those were the good old days of the City of Manila.

Soothing, calming, spiritual exhiliration. Usually referred to as the Malate Church, the Our Lady of Remedies is one imposing church in the heart of Manila. Visit the Malate Church and see its fascinating facade with its brick and stonework. This is where I frequent to whisper my fervent prayers as I start the day. I like the place because there is complete silence inside as you kneel on a pew and on one side, it is open all the time during the day making it accessible to prayers of gratefulness and soulful intents.
