Very unprofessional. Employees smoking in the hallways. Trash all around the place. No free parking, only for government employees and people that the parking person knows. Try to get a permit, concerned government employees will vacuum money from you, ask for under the table payments, ask for ridiculous fees without receipts just to have your document or permit processed. Epitome of corruption, from the traffic bureau all the way up to the permits and everything.

A bit behind in terms of customer/public service, and infrastructure, compared to other city halls I've seen. Easy to get lost and you can't get easy instructions to do what you need to do. Staff are not very helpful and some are outright rude. First time in many years that I had to wait for 3 hrs to complete a transaction. The system is just so backwards.

A good place to go to walk around with your family and friends. The place itself is historical so if you love history I'm sure you'll love this place. This place is completely different now compare to previous years. Now it's well maintained, clean, no unpleasant smell, and perfect for picture takings (Instagramable). But be cautious in your surrounding even though it is look safe and there's presence of police, pick pockets still roam this area.

So happy the new "unloading/loading" signage is seriously followed by e-trike which has been ignored over the years. The City Hall is still crowded but upon entering you knew that people there are working and not just sitting and standing which I noticed from my last visit. Now, everyone is busy.

Corrupt traffic policemen often make trouble for citizens. Every time a vehicle is stopped at an intersection, the police will secretly collect a tip of 500 to 3000. Full of corruption. Obviously there is a problem with traffic planning and instructions, and the problem is not resolved, it will become a reason for the police to corrupt. Everyone is scared. .

The newly renovated areas circling around the Manila City Hall are really great compared to what it was before. There is now a park with FREE COMFORT ROOM or CR and the new design of the underpass with several CCTVs is a good step of budget allocation from former Manila City Mayor Francisco "Isko" Moreno Domagoso and this needs to be maintained by the current City Mayor Maria Sheilah "Honey" Honrado Lacuna–Pangan. This is a big challenge for the current Mayor since these are not her projects. I just hope she can further uplift the city of Manila.

Came here as my wife said it had really nice architecture and was worth a visit. We accessed via the attractive Manila City underpass and walked across the very busy road. The hall has plenty of security guards and was extremely busy with people accessing the many services in the building. The architecture was OK, but not really worth going out of your way to see.

It would be helpful if the staff at the document processing department could stagger their lunch breaks to minimize waiting times for people needing essential documents. Not everyone has the luxury of spending all day waiting. However, I'm incredibly grateful to the three employees who helped me expedite my daughter's birth certificate registration today.

As a foreigner living in Manila, this is my first visit to Manila City Hall, and this visit blows away the public officials' prejudice that they are blunt. Friendly guidance at the entrance I really want to say thank you to every single staff member I met. i love manila

Went here to pay and get my license for a traffic violation. It was a long line outside of the city hall. When it rained, people scrambled under the shade which meant loss of social distancing. There's an organized system in place but it is very slow. Went in at 9am, got out 3pm.

I was here a while ago, getting my license back from MPTB. I can say, I've gone through hell & back. The ff. are problems that require immediate address. 1. Long cues 2. Fixers roam around the cue 3. Once your name's called, you will cue for another line for paymnt prep. 4. Once you pay, you go for the xerox to have a copy to be given to the releasing guys. (Totally useless unless you own the xerox machine) 5. You will wait again for hours bcause that's the only time they will start to look for your license, lost somewhere on the 3rd floor. 6. Finally, after several hours you get to see your license. Solution: 1. Interconnect your database w/ that of the MMDA. No need to confiscate license thus will reflect in the database said violation & holder won't be able to renew until he pays corresponding rate in the bank. Doing this will delete the long cues, and fixers will be omitted immediately.

The Manila City Hall is a government building constructed during the Philippine Commonwealth Period, completed in 1941. Heavily damaged during the Battle of Manila in February to March of 1945, it was reconstructed using funds from the Philippine Rehabilitation Act of 1946. It continues to serve as the governmental hub of the city of Manila and has withstood the vagaries of time.

Kung pwede Lang 0 stars When I got there I asked the guard what to do he told me to go back 5 days later, I showed him the ticket that said penalties will be added if I didn't pay within the time limit he said. "bahala Ka Kung ayaw mo maniwala". I asked the girl from window 2 if it was possible for me to get it now or at QC city hall instead, she said "hinde pwede, kasalanan mo Yan". I went back a week later at 12nn queued through several lines, paid for a photocopy and gave it to them, after a few hours people behind me had already left, when I followed up my ticket they told me to wait some more. after another hour I ended up paying for more photocopies just to get my license back. I got home at 7pm when everything was done. I spent 7+ hours for traffic violation.

The City Hall Manila have a lot big changes. They remodel the councilor room of District 3,4,5,6. They have also construction in 4th floor for records sections. A new machine was installed in Ground floor for Non contact apprehension violation payment. The system is turning more on automated machine.

Broken system. Why do I have to go here just to pay a violation? Their online app doesn't even work and you have to wait in line just to pay a fine. What a huge waste of time.

I visited the Public Officials' offices here in Manila City Hall to ask for my son's Medical Assistance, that after his accident I wasn't able to work before and after his operation since Oct. I came here with a hopeful heart that even if only 1 of them will offer assistance it will make a big help. I visited first on the 2nd District Councilors but only 1 office received the copies of my son's hospital records, but scheduled on Feb 6, and the last office, Mayors Office, from the entrance there is this tall guy (the guy at my back) who speaks so meanly and kayabangan who acts like he is the incharge and questioning all the docs I have, before letting me in. Then there is one good officer at the desk and received my docs, have it stamped. And informed me that someone will be sending the help at my doorsteps one of these days.. He didn't know when, but he is positive that it will come. I'm still thankful to those who are willing to spare their time to listen and impose the help they can provide for the people who are at stake unfortunately.

Despite the fact on walls written there is no noon break, they stop working for 1 hrs and chaos raising, building get more busy than before and of course no one care about social distancing, I suggest isko moreno become fashion model rather than a mayor because obviously he couldn’t control corruption and manila is such a mess city.

It has been renovated during the past mayor. Toilets are better, bigger and cleaner than it used to be. New elevators too although but not enough for so many people visiting there everyday. Wires are everywhere if you happen to look at the ceiling. Maybe because it's a very old building.

The Manila City Hall (Filipino: Bulwagan ng Lungsod ng Maynila) is the official seat of government of the City of Manila, located in the historic center of Ermita, Manila. It is where the Mayor of Manila holds office and the chambers of the Manila City Council is located.[2] It was originally intended to be a part of a national government center envisioned by Daniel Burnham in the 1900s. Although the dream plan was not fully implemented, some buildings for the proposed government center were constructed, including the Old Legislative Building (now the National Museum of Fine Arts), and the Agriculture and Finance Buildings (presently the National Museum of Anthropology and National Museum of Natural History). The building sits on a trapezoidal shape of the lot in between the Legislative and Post Office buildings. Due to the monotony of the building envelope, one cannot distinguish the principal facade from the main entrance properly. The south entrance has a balcony emphasized by three arches resting on Corinthian columns while the north rear has the same design treatment with the east and west sides, but has pediments all throughout and a tall, hexagonal clock tower capped by a dome.

In fairness, I was done in less than 10 minutes. Kudos to cashier #41 at the Real Property Tax Department. Very helpful and polite. Cool and clean office too! Still a lot of employees hanging around the hallways doing nothing though. But overall, a very pleasant experience for me.

Two members of the staff, especially the lady in step 2 Rush counter today, are too irritable and can't wait to shoo you away. They don't have the patience to let you finish your question. They are public servants paid by the citizens' tax. They need to have a better attitude towards the people they're serving.

1 Feb 2021, 10AM. No social distancing. Nobody is enforcing and nobody is following. I understand we want to get our business done but at what cost? We endanger ourselves and the people around us. Both personnel and citizen wear face shield as a hair/head accessory. No serious effort to minimize the spread of the COVID-19. Oh Maynila kong Mahal, panu na?

I have been an employee in this City wayback 1 decade ago when life is still normal. What I love the most are the places you can visit here. It is just beside the SM Manila and when the sale is on-going, we're the first shopper who availed their discounts and freebies. It is also a one ride trip to go to Divisoria and Quiapo Church.

  • 2/5 Ryan V. 3 years ago on Google
You have to be early as usual if you need anything here in the City Hall. As same as other LGU's is really hard for them to be people people. I guess you know what I mean. When you ask something as if they don't want to entertain you and can't even explain very well the process where you need to dig in that you just want to leave the soonest. I thought corruption and really being a public servant was fixed when our Mayor sat in but still there are many personnel that would always be there, who would ruin your day.

Interesting architecture... Antonio Toledo was the architect responsible for the design of the current Manila City Hall which exhibits a Neoclassical style. Juan Arellano's design, which had an Art Deco style, was supposed to be used for the city hall but Arellano quit the project and was replaced by Toledo.

It's been almost a yr since the pandemic began and they haven't taken significant ways to digitalize their processes. You can only transact Mon-Fri, at regular working hrs, with no alternative process that you can access remotely. Processing windows close before 5pm and key personnel leave work before 5pm. If you are insistent they will provide you an option to bypass the process but will not give you an official record of transaction. STILL A TYPICAL GOVT OFFICE.
