I brought my Polish date here. And oh boy, it did not disappoint. He had fun. We were only 5 in a group and the tour guide is very knowledgeable of the historical background of the items in display in the museum. IF YOU HAVE FOREIGN VISITORS, BRING THEM HERE. You just have to email the palace museum and tours coordinator your desired day and time to visit. Entrance is for free. Foreign nationals must affix a scanned copy of the face of their passport with the request to visit. Enjoy!

To be honest, this was a disappointing experience. I checked online before I went to the museum and I didn’t find any special requirements at all. Unfortunately, there is very specific request. Every visit needs to be scheduled by a form but you CANNOT get the form online because is not available even in the official website. So, the only way to know about it is when people come to visit the Presidential Museum and security let you know. You also have to do the request by email at least 3 days before your visit. I got the form to send and emails from my bad experience. So, there you go travellers. Enjoy!

We went on the Malacañang Heritage Tour today which DOES NOT include Malacañang Palace. Apparently tours were possible here before from the previous reviews but this is copied from the Malacañang Museum Facebook page " A gentle reminder that the museum in Kalayaan Hall is now closed. To anyone hoping to visit the Presidential Museum, the presidential memorabilia can now be found in Teus Mansion-- one of the two new museums under Malacañang Heritage Tours! 😉" Have to give the Palace a two since you just see it from the road and guard yells at you if you try to take a picture past the barricade. Maybe Kalayaan Hall will open to the public again in the future

Resident Malacañang historian and presidential staff assistant Francis Louie Esquivel explains to Tatler that Rocha married Gregoria Tuason, daughter of the Chinese Son Tua, who founded the prominent Tuason family. Esquivel says, “His modern-day descendants report that he was a large, hot-tempered man who loved his afternoon siesta. One of the duties of his Indian manservant was to shush noisy boatmen plying the Pasig, warning them, ‘Malaki yan’—another version of the genesis of the Malacañang name, the phrase translating to “He’s big”, referring to the lord of the mansion.” The Rocha family enjoyed the house for many decades, but in 1802, they were forced to sell the property to the Spanish Colonel Jose Miguel Formento. Less than a quarter of a century later, the property exchanged ownership again—this time, it was sold to the Spanish government to serve as a summer residence for the Spanish governor-general.

A unique historical experience. One hour is not enough to deeply immerse in the tour. Book early as tour slots are hard to get and can only be secured by reservations through the tour office of the museum.

It was time well spent along with my student leaders before heading back to Davao even though we were not able to tour the Palace. The experience was a rewarding one as we appreciated together the wisdom of our nation's leaders through the tour and being allowed to enter and be in the premises where history happened was truly memorable.

First of all if you want to go to the museum you have to schedule an appointment first at the gate. So, I learned new things that I didn't know about the place which they don't write in historical books. It just takes you back in time with the items that the Philippine presidents used throughout the course of history from their campaigns, decorations, and much more. There is the sense of awe to think that you're standing at the same spot where the presidents held their meetings, conferences. I think it is a nice place to learn some part of the philippine history by knowing some facts of the men and women that lead the nation

You can visit a couple of mansions on the property, but you cannot even see the main palace or take photos of it. The guide was very helpful and you get lots of information on all of the presidents in Philippine history, but if your main purpose is to see the palace, you will be disappointed.

(Translated by Google) On Saturday afternoon in March, I suddenly visited by taxi to make a reservation. Checkpoint? Passed by taxi driver saying something. I got off in front of the museum. I'd like to enter, guards with guns? Is saying something like a break today. Then, it seems that shooting is banned if you aim at the camera only with photos. The surrounding area is well maintained. Great difference from nearby Chinatown. As expected, where the President lives? Return taxis should not come to this area ... I walked 10 minutes and walked to the road where taxis are passing and returned to Malate.

Historic. Sad though that they closed it down and therefore no longer operational for public viewing. You can still park your vehicle beside the road if you wish to take some quick snaps of the structure's exterior.

A once in a life time experience. Going inside the the museum is very fulfilling experience if you're a Filipino because you can see the personal items of the past presidents and important people of the Philippines. Also there's a lot of trivia and information about the people who once lived in the Malacañan. If I once again given a chance to visit the Malacañan Museum, I will definitely to pay a visit again.

IF YOU HAVE FOREIGN VISITORS DON'T BRING THEM HERE. I brought my Polish date here, and oh boy did it disappoint. Our tour guide drop kicked her off the balcony, he didn't know what he was doing and apparently he wasn't even a tour guide? He stole one of the items in display and called my date a slur. Very sad, did not enjoy.

Malacañang Palace, commonly known simply as Malacañang, is the official residence and workplace of the President of the Philippines. It is located in the capital city of Manila. Here's an overview: Location: Malacañang Palace is situated along the north bank of the Pasig River in San Miguel, Manila. Its precise address is J.P. Laurel Street, San Miguel, Manila. History: The palace has a rich history dating back to Spanish colonial times when it was originally a summer house for Spanish colonial officials. It became the official residence of the American governors-general during the American colonial period. After the Philippines gained independence, it became the official residence of the President. Official Functions: Malacañang Palace serves as the president's residence and office. It is where the president conducts official meetings, receptions, and events with both domestic and foreign dignitaries. Symbolic Significance: Malacañang Palace is not only a functional government building but also holds significant symbolic importance. It is often associated with the authority and leadership of the President of the Philippines. Historical and Cultural Significance: The palace has witnessed numerous historical events and has been the site of important decisions in Philippine history. Access: The palace is generally not open to the public, except for designated areas such as the Malacañang Museum, which showcases the history and artifacts related to the presidency. Visiting Malacañang Palace typically requires prior arrangements and approval due to security and protocol considerations. If you're interested in visiting or learning more about Malacañang Palace, it's advisable to contact the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) or check their official website for information on tours or exhibitions when available.

I went to Manila to report very important issues regarding certain abuses, illegal activities and neglect by local officials and persons located in Iloilo. To go to Malacanang the humble local guide way is quite nice over-all. I was able to see Manila with new eyes and perspective. The road to the Palace is well-guarded by men in Military Uniform. They were all very strict but also very polite while entertaining my questions. They gave me directions on where and how to file my complaints and how to set an appointment to meet the President. I am not sure to be able to meet him, but it would be great to finally meet the new President of the Philippines and know firsthand what he can do about Illegal And Informal Settlers, police abuse and brutality, usurpation and other illegal activities that need to be uprooted, sanctioned or apprehended. A guard told me that I am not allowed to take photos of the Palace, for security reasons but I can take photos before that point and other areas. There are small snack places around but no real restaurant or diner that I've noticed. I will refrain from posting photos of the Malacanang to respect security protocols.
