Intramuros is a perfect place to visit for a family wanting to have an outing during the pandemic. You can have a lot of outdoor touring, there are bikes you can rent to tour the whole old town manila, or you can also go in trycicle tours with tour guides that will guide you. You may also go in museum tours: casa manila, fort Santiago, and many other inside museums to see the history of the Philippines. 2021 there are many open shops and open restos with craft beers, coffee and dining. Yummy snacks to eat on the side, Ice cream and souvenirs you can bring to take home. You may also visit manila cathedral and San Agustin to 🙏

This still remains a place to see when in Manila. The history and heritage of this place should be maintained and sustained. Intramuros is what makes Manileños proud. Entering the walls is like stepping into the vast history this place tells. If only the walls can talk!

Intramuros is one of the best historical places in Manila. I suggest watching YouTube videos about the Battle of Manila or Intramuros before you visit. This will really enhance your experience to the next level.

If I hadn't visited Intramuros, my trip to Manila wouldn't have been complete. Every place has a unique history that you will genuinely respect and value. The architectural structures inside this walled city remained constant over time and were kept in captivating condition. Undoubtedly an antique charm.

Great walled city of Manila. Took a guided walking tour - awesome way to see the historical sites and learn about this great city. So much history it’s amazing to see it all. Afternoon at 4pm tour started and went until after dark. Finished with Kalesa ride around perimeter back to car. Great time!

A must visit when you are here in manila. It was great to learn about the Spanish reign from this walled off city and there are a lot of interesting historical places inside the intramuros to visit. Hired an electric scooter to go around the place. Thought it was ok for the price paid as the driver acts as a guide too. The rude took us to places where we might not reach on foot. After that we explored the places of our own interest in detail. Entry to most places are free. Some places charge a very nominal fee only. The place is walkable and there are a lot of places to eat and rest . Spent almost the whole day here and I think there are cultural shows in the night time. Saw a lot of street vendors in the alleys which might be active in the night.

You can take a walking tour of Intramuros, a historic walled area within Manila. The walls surrounding Intramuros were built during the Spanish colonial period in the 16th century. It is the home to several historical landmarks and cultural attractions like the Fort Santiago, Manila Cathedral, museums and art galleries. You can also stop at some of the eateries or cafes to refuel after the walk.

Intramuros or the Walled City in Manila is a 16th century fortification built during the Spanish Period. It became the center for administration of the islands by the Spaniards and earned the moniker the Ever Loyal City. Numerous period edifices are located within its walls and have become tourist attractions themselves. Several other commercial establishments are also found within the district as well as other government agencies.

An absolute must for any tourist visiting Manila. The old walled city gives a real insight into the local history with some prominent older buildings and landmarks. Take a long walk along the top of the wall which has some great views.

Intramuros is the most historic part of Manila. It is the heart and the place from where it all began in the capital of the Philippines. You travel back in time and you have the chance to visit several places, such as the Manila cathedral and San Augustin church and monastery. If you want to know more about the history of the country, Intramuros is the place to go

So much to see and experience. Definitely the highlight of our trip to Manila. This is the original Spanish settlement dating back to the 16th century. So many beautiful churches and old Spanish architecture. This was the original walled city which was at the center of the Spanish colonial government. A must see while visiting Manila.

Really amazing pace to visit if you’re in Manila. This fort holds so much of the Filipino culture and their life, their stories and struggles during the war. There are plenty of museums to visit, parks to relax in and food to buy. There is a must see UNESCO cathedral that you can enter. Dress respectfully, nothing above the knee, no sleeveless or crop tops. Don’t chance it, because The church staff will deny you entry. The roads have the Spanish architecture and influence. The walls and along the fort oversee the golf course and surrounding roads. The history and architecture of this hidden area is just marvelous. Intramuros makes for a good and fulfilling day trip. Apart from the old day charm, there are plenty of rooftop restobars and lounges to enjoy.

Never been happier to see the historic Intramuros opened. I suggest going early though as there was a crowd in the late afternoon to early evening. There are several restaurants opened already, and to make everything faster I suggest you download the Stay Safe App that they all use to let you in the establishments.

Between the rural expanse of historic buildings and the modern additions to spice up the area this a go to place when we arrived since there weren't too many people. The usual flood of students that might crowd the place are at home doing online classes. Though sadly some hallmark shops aren't present we were still able to roam and appreciate the design of Old Manila. We were able to travel safely from place to place just by walking and the air seemed cleaner because of the lack of traffic. Hopefully more people see this as an opportunity to visit since some business do need more support especially without the student customer base. I would recommend the Bamboo Bike tours and visiting the old churches. Though, when we visited the walls were closed, I think the experience was quite complete nonetheless.

Intramuros plays an important part to our country's history and it is one of the popular destinations for a visitor to our hometown. It is the oldest district and is called the Walled City. Historically, it is the seat of the Spanish government when they colonized the Philippines.

Fort Santiago, a 16th century military defense structure, stands witness to the valor and heroism of the Filipino through the centuries. Adaptive use of this famous historical landmark makes certain areas ideal for open air theater, picnics, and promenades. The Intramuros Visitors' Center gives an overview of various attractions in the Walled City.

An absolute must visit in Manila. I wasn't sure what to expect and didn't know what exactly Intramuros consisted of. I quickly learned it was once the walled city during the Spanish Empire and it literally translates to "within the walls" since it was the entirety of Manila. Great place to learn about the history of the Philippines from the Spanish Empire in the 16th century to the various wars and fight until its independence in both 1898 and 1946. Within Intramuros, there's many sites, historical markers, churches, shops, etc.. that preserve the history of Intramuros.

Beautiful place to visit it's one of the tourist attraction place near to Rizal park and Fort Santiago. You can visit various things surrounding to the places Majorly Old churches and Old monuments that makes this place beautiful. Greenery all surround to the place big golf course ground which looks beautiful. I'll recommend must visit this place during evening hours so you can visit this place by walk so you can explore more and don't prefer motor bike to cover it doesn't worth it, cause it charge 350/- pesos for half an hour.

One of the most historic places in Manila. I went here at night and was not disappointed with the views. If you want to avoid the crowds and the heat, it's best to come here in the afternoon or evening. I also recommend the tour guides in Intramuros especially Kuya Allen. He interacts well with the guests and especially his photography skills.

Visiting Intramuros is like stepping back in time, a reminder of the rich and diverse history of the Philippines. It’s a serene place, where the cobblestone streets and the remnants of Spanish architecture bring stories of the past to life. Whether you’re a history buff or just looking for a peaceful place to wander, Intramuros offers a unique and enriching experience. The area is well-maintained, and there’s a palpable sense of pride and respect for the heritage it represents. The local eateries offer a taste of traditional Filipino cuisine, adding flavor to the journey through our history. A day spent here is not just enlightening but also a proud reminder of our vibrant culture and past.

Step back in time to the old walled city - a city within a city. Established during Spanish colonial times 1571 till the American (1898) and Japanese occupation of World War II. Upon arriving you will be doing a lot of walking best to avoid the rainy (June - Oct) and hot seasons (April, May) November to February is probably the best weather to be site seeing. Lots to see like historical buildings, churches, plazas, Manila Cathedral, Rizal shrine, museums and the fortifications of Fort Santiago.

We performed at Casa Manila (photo below) during Pasinaya 2024 and we had a chance to visit the interiors of Casa Manila. The place is well maintained and you will see how the rich lived during the 1800s -1900s through its furnitures and other things that can be found inside a mansion.

A beautiful site to visit, we came right after mass so it was not busy. Very beautiful biblical artifacts , and they have a great gift store as well, all the proceeds go towards the church so it was a win win. Just be ready to go through the security check points before you enter. Had a great time, and would definitely recommend this site to visit.

Intramuros, located in the heart of Manila, Philippines, is a true testament to the nation's rich history and cultural heritage. Exploring this captivating walled city is like stepping back in time, and it leaves an indelible mark on anyone fortunate enough to visit. As an avid traveler and history enthusiast, I had the pleasure of experiencing the awe-inspiring beauty of Intramuros firsthand, and it left me utterly spellbound. Intramuros offers a remarkable blend of Spanish colonial architecture, cobblestone streets, and well-preserved fortifications. Its magnificent landmarks, such as Fort Santiago, San Agustin Church, and Casa Manila, stand as proud symbols of the city's storied past. Navigating this historical gem is an absolute joy, with every corner revealing a new piece of history waiting to be uncovered

(Translated by Google) This is an area where Spanish heritage remains. Surrounded by walls, the world is like the inside of the wall of Attack on Titan. There are many ruins and it is also worth seeing. It is a place that many tourists visit, and it is always a guidebook. There is also a museum, so it would be nice when traveling to the Philippines. Horse-drawn carriages are also running around here. It may be possible to go around sightseeing spots by horse-drawn carriage. Recently, there are also rental bicycles. Definitely a must do when you are in town. If you book the short tour it's maybe not a bad idea to do this instead of a long tour if you did not bring a full water bottle. It is a very interesting history and it's definitely something that we will take home as a core memory.

It is my first time visiting Intramuros Manila, well as you go upon the entrance you will see some of pedicab (bike with sidecar) drivers offering you a rides which is 200 pesos for 2 hr tour in selected destination, but it depends on the driver you can ask to lower the price. Anyway, it turns me off upon entering Intramuros, there's a lot of garbage outside and some of the place were not being maintained, they put some stockpile inside the room. Well! I'm not happy about it.

Fort Santiago is located inside Intramuros, Manila. A very good and well preserved historical landmarks that tell the story and witness the life of our ancestors. Some of the attraction inside of the Wall City are the Rizal Shrine, where Dr. Jose Rizal imprisoned before he execute in 1896. Inside the Rizal Museum is some of memorabilia and his footsteps that represents of his final walk from his cell to his final execution. You can also visit the The Dungeon originally made as a storage of weapon such as arms and gunpowder. Converted into prison facility after the construction of a new powder magazine on higher ground. 600 decomposing corpse discovered inside by United States Army during the liberation of Manila from the Japanese Imperial forces dung the second Word War 1945. Another attraction is the Lego Museum and park. During in new normal and it was alert level 1 when i visited the Wall City, some of the requirements to entering is facemask and need to present your fully vaccinated card. Entrance fee is 70.00 petot for regular guest and 50 petot for students, senior and PWD guest. Open daily but i advice to visit them during weekdays Tuesday to Friday for less tourist. Monday is there sanitation day so some of the attraction is possibly closed. Enjoy our history by visiting the most important historical site in Metro Manila, Philippines. Visit Intramuros, Manila. Visit Fort Santiago.

It's like traveling back in time. Old buildings and houses, brick walls and roads, and most of all, the BAMBIKE. It's basically a bicycle with a bamboo frame. My only concern is that, instead of preserving the beauty Intramuros has, ppl keep on modernizing it. When we went there, a lot of ongoing constructions were present. I just wish someone would do something about this. After all, it shows us our culture.

Since we went here during holy week we expect to see a lot of people. There are some areas that there's a few people, you can take pictures there. The museum is open near the White Cross. The underground is also open but kinda scary there. The photos here are taken in Fort Santiago. There's fee also, P75 or almost $2, that's what I remembered.

The place is so beautiful and nostalgic. It seems like you've been brought back to the past because of it's well preserved architectural design and the same thing with the artifacts. We got there on a Saturday morning and honestly, we never waited in line since we were so early as walk-in guests inside.

Was here unexpectedly because of a spontaneous invitation from friends... This is my first time visiting this place, and I must say that I was fascinated by the beauty of the structures found inside. I also discovered that there are residents in here and that this place is not just a tourist attraction. The historical aura that the place emanates makes me feel nostalgic even if I wasn't really existing back in the old days. The place is clean, and there are people there willing to help you take group photos for free.

One of the great tourist spot in Metro Manila 👍 Guardia civil are very strict implementing the wear of masks/faceshields. So you will feel very secured. Also, when you enter one of their museums, you will be asked to download an app for checking if you are qualify to enter the place. 👍 There are several guards roaming around. So I guess it is really safe going around there. Good thing, the climate is cold too that time 😍

Ancient and vintage vibes. I arrived early in the morning for eco bike tour and the area is still very quite and clean. There are some restaurants and cute cafes in Casa Manila. The area gets crowded by the day. There are some people sell drinks in the street and some tuktuk drivers offer their services.

This historical neighborhood is a National and cultural missed opportunity. What should be an icon of a nation is dragged down by excessive cars, garbage strewn about, and an over abundance of tour guides pests seemingly everywhere. There are bright spots but they are overshadowed by blight. I want to love this neighborhood but just can’t support it’s current state.

Historical landmark with many places to see: churches, museums, classic Spanish buildings from 19th century. Place is restively safe, you can see guards on some streets. There is usually a lot of tourists. It’s difficult to order taxi (Grab) in Intramurous, although cars are allowed there, so I assume you have to go outside the area to get one. You will find here a lot of vintage cafeterias and restaurants.

And fortunately we had managed to roam around this very historical site. We rode a horse car. Hence, if you want to know more about the Philippines i highly recommend this place for you and for your friends to see also the beauty of those antique buildings and the picturesque touched of nature into it. Intramus is the best historical attractions, Fort Santiago is home to the old fort as well as the Rizal Shrine, a small museum dedicated to the life and works of Jose Rizal, our national hero. Along the way, there are numerous smaller attractions such as museums, plazas, and historic buildings. Indeed, walking through the streets of Intramuros will transport you back in time, as you will find yourself in the midst of old historical structures that are still standing.

The walled city of Intramuros was the seat of government administration during the Spanish colonial period in the Philippines. It was also the main center of religious, social and economic activities of the period, where the elites of the time lived. The Intramuros Administration is a national government agency formed to rehabilitate and preserve the many historical landmarks in the city.

Intramuros is a walled place inside the city. Administration maintains the historical places in order and improves services to the people who are visiting the footprints of the memories where the people suffered, get jailed, and sentenced to death. During this pandemic, people are mot allowed to go up the walls and have pictures with the cannons, have a walk around the walls, and many more. People need to observe social distancing and to wear their masks, face shields, and sanitizers.
