My best friend and I stayed at OLA! hostel during our trip to the Philippines and our stay was fantastic! Our room was brand new, very clean and the air conditioner kept us nice and cool. The bathroom was very clean and the one thing which was slightly spraying water was fixed within the next few hours. The walls were funky, and vibrant. Excellent location, close to the airport. The staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. One individual, Christian, helped me download the "grab" taxi app and helped me use it. He was constantly around to check up on my friend and I. We arrived on Monday but had plans to travel to Buscalan, and travel back to the hostel. Christian allowed us to leave our extra baggage at the hostel while we were away - the best part was when we returned we were treated like family who have come for a reunion, or neighbours. We immediately were put at ease and were super comfortable. We spent most of our time back in the hostel as it was the last few days of relaxing after constantly travelling around. We chilled out on the rooftop hangout. What a beautiful place! That was the place to be for good music, for checking messages (It has wifi), to meet others staying in the hostel and mostly eat the delicious food they cooked! I highly recommend their fluffy pancakes, potato balls and their pad thai! We are so thankful for them! I would definitely stay at Ola Hostel again and would recommend to anyone!

The hostel itself is nice and clean. The rooms are spacious and there are water coolers on every floor which was nice as at other hostels, they charge for water. The rooftop is nice and the food portions are very good, a main meal could feed 2 people - recommend the tofu fried rice and pancakes. The free drinks were good and all the people I met were lovely. I didn't love the area, its okay, but not that touristy and not safe to walk on your own. Not too far from the metro if you're brave and want to explore the city.

Incredible experience! Super clean. The free breakfast was yum and the happy hour was fun. Best drinks I’ve had at a hostel. Super friendly staff too.

The best hostel I have stayed in so far when travelling Asia. Despite Manila being a daunting city, the staff have been so lovely and helpful! The beds are really comfy and the rooms are nice with good ac. It is close to the train station so it is easy to venture out and see the sights. The bar upstairs was great and included so many bonuses!

A wonderful hostel in heart of Manila! Good soft beds and the rooftop terrace is lovely. Good food and cheap drinks. They also have a free karaoke. Definitely will meet other travellers here and have fun.

The best hostel food with a great menu of food and drinks in a nice rooftop communal setting. You also get light breakfast included which is scrambled egg and toast. They have two cute cats that hang around. The staff are super friendly and helpful for local advice and even let me use their computer in an emergency, and they offer printing. There is also a laundry service which was a bonus as you can drop and pick up with it all neatly folded. All the beds have easy accessible charging points too, yes, even the top bunk! All I would say though is that there was a weird smell on my floor, a bit like petrol or something, hard to describe which wasn't the best smell to have lingering.

I would highly recommend staying at the OLA Hostel in Manila. Well the service I received was absolutely outstanding; Breakfast was worth it as well and I enjoyed the mini cafe in 5th floor. I would be more than happy to stay here again in the near future. I just wanted to thank you to reception staffs (especially to Ate Diosa and the one girl there and Kuya Joel) were always friendly and courteous, and always willing to help out in anyway they could. Keep up the good work!

What makes Ola Hostel great? The staff! While everyone is great, Miss Diosa is outstanding. So friendly and helpful and always in a good mood. She is the main Receptionist. Miss Fea also works at reception and is also a delight. I must also mention Jo, who is the in house guide and social director. He took me on great tour of Manila and an amazing but difficult hike to Taal Volcano. The views were awesome! The breakfast cook is a polite and accommodating young man who will start your day with a smile. The rooms are cleaned daily and very comfortable with air conditioning. I stayed here for 16 nights and will definitely come back. Thanks to all the wonderful staff!

Very accomodating and welcoming people. We have opted to stay twice with Ola and both times had a pleasant stay. Rooms are spacious and clean. Bar and food options are great with lots of space and opportunities to socialise ! Really helpful with great overnight safety, had the front entrance locked with a attendant available for our late night entry. Overall had a really pleasant stay both times and would recommend to others. Thank you.

We had a private room for 2 and unfortunately, the air was broken in ours which made our night less pleasant. But the beds, room and bathroom were clean, we even had a small balcony which was nice. The rooftop is brilliant and great to interact with the other guests. You can walk to the public train quickly and it was easy to get to from the airport. We went on a out for a day with Miles which was probably the highligh of our time in Manila. Best guide ever, if you get the chance to go out with him, make sure you do !

The location is good, there's a metro station and a principal avenue really close to the hostel. The rooms are clean and they have an air-conditioning system. They provide free breakfast which is incredible, it's scrambled eggs with bread, apple and coffee. The hostel is really calm, perfect if you want to relax.

I like my stay here. Nice rooftop, everything was clean, no curtains around the bed though. The receptionist is really kind. There’s a delicious coffee & a laundry store right next door. The hostel has instant coffee, if your not picky. And food as well, ate stirred tofu with rice was good.

Comfortable & clean and the staff especially at rooftop bar is really friendly, me and my boyfriend arrived reaaally early in the morning because we had night flight to Manila so our room wasn’t ready yet and they offered us to go sleep on the couch at some separate room behind the kitchen, also they have happu hour with free cocktails and it’s a really good chance to hang out and meet all the people. Also the food is really good and at fair price.

Great experience at Ola! Very comfortable beds, clean facilities, kind staff, great security and really cool rooftop bar with drinks, food and cute hostel cats! I highly recommend and will definitely come back if I’m ever in Manila again. Amazing first hostel experience in the Philippines!

I live Ola Hostel! I stayed for about a week after a few months in the Philippines. For the price, I wasn’t expecting it to be too great, and just wanted to stay for a couple of nights before leaving for a new place. I ended up staying for the remainder of my time in Manila because the rooms were comfortable, the staff and guests were great, and the location was good. There was always somebody ready to join you on a day trip or to welcome you along for dinner, exploring, or whatever. Cool place

The Ola Hostel was clean, efficiently run and in a good loaction not far from the airport and in relatively safe part of Manilla. The best part was the extraordinarily friendly staff who created an environment where you wanted to be and could have fun. It was a real melting post of personality and I'd return again. Thank you, Adam

Great clean hostel with chances to plenty of oppurtunities to meet people! I stayed in a private room. Pros: - Clean room and bathroom. Their kit includes towel, bar soap, and shampoo, as well as toothbrush and tooth paste. - One Free drink at happy hour 6-7pm = oppurtunity to meet people. - Free breakfast at 7-9am. Basic food (egg and bread). I personally never went because I woke up too late. - 8min walk to an LRT station Things to Consider: - The rooftop bar is great, but the music is loud until ~12am. Good luck getting any sleep until then if you are a light sleeper. - There is a 500 PHP deposit in cash. You will get it back when you check out. - If you book a mixed dorm, there are no curtains. - The area is not dangerous, but the cleanliness and the "sidewalks" are left much to be desired.

We loved our stay at Ola Hostel overall however we found this particular area of Manila very difficult as our first stop on our travels. Pros: The people were very welcoming and helpful. The place was clean and tidy with comfortable beds. There was plenty of backpackers to meet over their happy hour 6-7. Many of whom were just stopping over. Cons: The area didn't feel particularly safe to adventure out over night and many taxi drivers told us not to stay out passed 8 pm. The communal area can be very loud and stays open till early hours of the morning. We personally found the surrounding area to be also quite loud as we faced the street however, we spoke to others who didn't have any issues. Overall we found this place to be a little safe bubble in all the madness of Manila.

Great place to staff, staff are friendly. Breakfast free and also good selection of food to try. The adobo is the best. Nice rooms and great area for lounge and chatting at the rooftop or the common area. Area is close to the LRT line and easy to travel around to nice places.

Nice friendly hostel with nice rooms with air con. Free drinks every day between certain times and a nice roof top bar. The food is overpriced though and portions are small.

This place is highly recommended for everyone. The room is clean and comfy. I stay on the female dorm with bunk beds for 6 persons, but there was only 2 other woman with me. Really close to the station and many convenient stores around. And you'll also get free breakfast. They have laundry, cafe, and bar with affordable price as well. I stay at the bar for a few hours before check in and they welcomed me very well. Will definitely stay here again if I come back to Manila πŸ‘πŸ‘

Very friendly hostel, helping staff, free drinks open bar everyday from 18-19. Great for planing the rest of your trip in the Philippines. A bit noisy in the top floors.

Pros: Clean dorm room, well maintained facilities & free drinkable water per floor. Cons: All stairs in well renovated old building, not accessible for wheelchair users and not for folk with bad knees no elevator.

Great place to stay, I’d definitely go back. Good atmosphere, good food and easy laundry right next door. It is a bit of a walk up to the top floor but that’s not really an issue

Such a great hostel. Clean, spacious rooms with private bathroom for each room. 2 great social areas to spend time in where you can get food & drinks. My second stay here and would definitely recommend. Also a coffee shop downstairs in the building which is always welcomed!

Had a wonderful stay at Ola Hostel; very clean and comfortable, but the best part is the staff! So kind and welcoming, and really go the extra mile to curate a fun vibe. The rooftop is great as well with a fun happy hour every day and nice food. Would highly recommend!

Rooms, beds and bathroom were clean, staff were pretty friendly! The rooftop bar is really cool and there is free drinks/breakfast (although I didn't have either and wasn't told about breakfast on check in). Wifi doesn't work anywhere in the hostel apart from the lobby which is really annoying and haven't experienced that in any other hostel. No free towel and no curtains around beds. Only one an ensuite bathroom for 8 bed dorm and no other shared showers options. Get a free Smoothie for leaving a review so here's an honest one!

Our stay in Ola! Hostel in Manila was very pleasant. When we arrived the guys at the reception welcomed us very openly and provided us with a lot of useful information. The private room was very clean and the rooftop terrace is just awesome! You can get some free food there as well. Definitely recommend!

First place I arrived in the Philippines on my first solo trip abroad ola was in a soft opening but was still great free breakfast and I remember I a lovely lady helping me get my iPhone working showed me where to get it fixed. The rooms are clean and staff and guests are wonderful

The people are nice, but the hostel could be better, like curtains, lights, cabinets, etc.

  • 4/5 Arianna L. 1 year ago on Google
I just came to visit a friend. But this hostel is definitely worth recommending. Just a few walk away from LRT Vito Cruz station. The price is Cheap but the place is nice and the roof top is perfect to see the city lights at night. You can chill and drink with friends or meet new friends while having your meals or beers. There's a laundry shop downstairs, a Cafe and restaurants, and a pharmacy around the area. I'll edit this review once I have a chance to stay here myself. I do try to book a hostel for the night when I have time and a chance to experience it myself, so I can guarantee it whenever I recommend it to the travelers in our traveling community.
