History museum

👍👍 If you are interested in knowing a bit more about the history of Philippines, this is a must go. Doesn't take too long to visit the museum and introduces the Philippines history in a very interesting way. Also, this is a good place to relax and eat and drink something (and cheap!) It is a good place to spend less than one hour. It is basic, not a lot there, so you can absorb better all the information to have a clear idea of the history of the Philippines. I was talking to the staff and they have good ideas for the future to improve the musem. Be aware that the opening of the museum was last month.

This is definitely a must see in Intramuros. It is a well concepted museum where you learn the history of the Philippines. You will see a lot of people in the main entrance of the building but do not worry, the museum is in the rooftop and we were there just a few tourists.

The presentation and informartion on the history of the Philippines is very interesting. There should be more places like this in Manila. Worth a visit if you are spending the day in Intramuros to entertain a family visit.

A museum worth visiting if you have forty five minutes in order to learn about Philippine history. It is a short visit but definitely worth it. The museum is behind the Manila Cathedral. The opening was last month, so you if you ask about the location to the pedestrians, do not expect a well known place in Intramuros. But everyone knows the Magallanes street.

I truly enjoyed this museum, especially because it helped me to explain to my child why the Philippines is called like that, to honour King Felipe from Spain. If you are in Intramuros, you have to visit it!!!

The musem has panels to read and one video. Teach your children how in the past the Filipino people used to fight for his freedom. Nowadays they will have to learn how to fight against the corruption at all political levels

Great museum for tourists. Local residents get a discount, so bring a government id as proof. The museum has free wifi and they kindly will ask you for a good review in the social media at the same time that you get the password. I consider it fair.

Very small museum but very complete. The entrance fee includes a cup of coffee wich is good while you are watching a video about the end of Ferdinan Marcos era.

Wandering in Manila Google Maps suggested us to visit this smal, and a bit hidden, museum about the history of the Philippines. Very interesting to learn about their connections with America and Europe and how those cultures blend and evolved in the nowadays Philippines

The ticket for tourists is 200 pesos and it is worth it. You can enjoy a free coffee while you are watching a video about the EDSA Revolution.

My 7 year old son enjoyed it since it was his first time in a museum like this. The pannels were informative, but showed a lot of fighting. So prepare to explain.

Nice museum that is very informative on filipino culture and history. The museum has his own cafeteria and the cake is delicious. In my opinion it's definitely worth it and I give a big recommendation

Good place to go. The Museo Filipino is friendly to children just starting to learn, to understand Philippine history. With google maps is easy to find the location. They have a menu and is very cheap.

I really enjoyed this museum. I learnt so much about the Phillipines. I particularly liked the video playing where it showed the power of the Filipino people, protesting in peace against the Marcos regime. Cory Aquino was elected the first woman president, ending the Marcos era. Well worth a visit.

You will have to read a bit in this museum. Do not expect to see artefacts or religious statues. , There are a lots of stories from the filipinos who fought against the Spanish, Americans and the Japanese. . Highly recommended. Mabuhay Pilipinas!!!

At the beginning you feel a little bit lost inside the builiding where the museum is located. It is a great museum featuring the history of the Philippines. It covers early history of the original island culture through the period of Spanish and US dominion up to independence. There is a tribute to the filipino heroes. Mabuhay Pilipinas!!!

Being located above an office with several people coming in and coming out of the builiding, I was very sceptical at first. Looked like it was a cheap tourist money grab, but once we committed ourselves, we were very happily surprised. I enjoyed readign about the filipino heroes. Mabuhay Pilipinas!!!

I did not know so much about the Spanish-American war and now I have a picture about what happened. The way that the Americans invaded the country was so unfair and tragic.

A must in Intramuros This one is the cherry to Intramuros visit! You can get a glimpse of the Philippines convulse history well and concisely presented and in a nice cozy ambiance, to relieve from the heat of Manila for a short while. Really worth a visit. If I am not wrong, is the only place in Intramuros that you can learn about the complete history of the Philippines. And you can have lunch or merienda there.

  • 5/5 Borja Lopez R. 4 years ago on Google
Wonderful place to visit. Best time to arrive is lunch time. It is possible to order something in the cafeteria that is located in the same floor and area than the museum. The food is very cheap and it is possible to ask for free wifi

  • 5/5 Blanca L. 4 years ago on Google
Free wifi that means that I gave my word to write a good review so here I am. Very informative museum that tells you the history of the Philippines from the very begining until the current times including the worst enemy of the country; and I am no talking about the Spaniards, Americans, or Japaneses, I am talking about the weather.

  • 5/5 Jose N. 4 years ago on Google
Great history to be learned. I love the way that the museum shows the tribute to the filipino heroes, two columns with their faces and few lines about them. A country cannot forget his heroes. Mabuhay Pilipinas!!!

Definitely a place to visit if you are staying in Manila for a few days. I would recommend the museum to insert a panel explaining the evolution of the traffic in Manila, possibly the worst one in the world😂😂. I had lunch there, the food is very cheap.

Very nice information, allowed us to learn more about the Philipines. It is sad to see how Europeans, Japanese and the US have constantly been trying to control the country. You also can rest in the cafeteria drinking a free cofee. BTW, the building from outside is not nice at all but you have to take the elevator to the sith floor to visit the museum.

From cultural and historical point of view, it is a very good travel through the very unknown Spanish history in Philippines. It is very nicely explained for all public, either experts or children. Facilities are high standard: wifi, staff, cafeteria (incl. food), building, etc... for a very affordable price. In summary, it is a must go in your visit to Intramuros

A sweet little museum to mark the end of our trip in the Philippines, situated in the wall city of Intramuros. I actually really liked this museum, a place that reminds the heroes of the country. The ticket includes free coffee and the food in the cafeteria is really good and very cheap.

The location may be a bit awkward. Said that, in the rooftop there is an interesting museum with a comfy cafeteria. Wherein those ones lazy to read through the archipelago history can enjoy a video to get to know a bit more the Filipino culture. A good side activity when visiting intramuros!
