👍 Good coffeeshop with lotsa reading material!! My partner enjoyed their excellent Thai Tea Latte!!! Unfortunately I had to make do with Americano because they don't have any non-dairy milk alternatives. Wish they'd add some People often mention coffee, good, cafe, Manila, Malate, great, drinks, small, shop, Good,

It's a cute cafe along M.H Del Pilar Street, situated under Hop Inn. The drinks and cakes are delicious, though small in portions. Also, if you're visiting on a Sunday, their operating hours are from 11am to 5pm only.

Neighborhood cafe that serves good coffee. It is situated in Hop Inn Hotel Ermita, a short walk from Manila Bay and Raja Sulayman Plaza. The ambiance gives a laidback feel.

Latte and americano were great! Food is meh except for the chocolate chip cookie! Appreciated that they allowed the use of my reusable cup. Ambiance is nice for a stop over. Would visit again!

Small cafe with good food. Drinks for me could be better, but all the cakes that we tried, taste so good and yummy. Not all food is available, so we just take whatever is displayed. Seats are limited, and car park almost nonexistence. Price a little high but acceptable. I will come again and this place is recommended.

One of the coffee place that I’ve been seeing in Instagram that really caught my attention is Blocleaf. Located in Malate Manila so I really have to find a schedule just to find this place. So in one of those weekends me and my coffee/food buddy decided to go on a simple manila crawl. We started of with Blocleaf since according to google maps its just walk from Diamond Hotel. Blocleaf is bright spot in the street of MH Del Pilar. Just below Hop Inn hotel ermita. The place is really neat clean eye ctaching since the area of MH Del Pilar got the old dirty looking Manila vibe. I love how minimalist Blocleaf is with the accent of wood and plants. This is the perfect place that you want to spend your weekend morning waking up. Relax, light and chill. For my coffee/drinks I got their iced matcha latte since it was a beauty in the picture haha. Tastewise I was a bit disappointed due to the lack of Matcha flavor. I think it was a bit diluted by the ice. Maybe next time I’ll try it hot. I also got to taste what my buddies ordered. The hot thai milk tea was so good. I love this better. I really should had my matcha latte hot. We also tried the Ube cheesecake. Also enjoyed this cake. Not too sweet but the ube flavor was also very light. Not bad. Overall love this place feel but for the food/drinks I think they still can improve on it. But when in Malate looking for a grerat coffee spot this is really a great option. Suggest go for the hot thai tea latte that’s a sure winner.

It offers great local coffee and unique desserts. The shop also provides a cool playlist (through this vintage-looking radio) to add to your current list.

This neighborhood coffee shop is similar to neighborhood shops you see in Japan. Their concept might be foreign in nature, but their menu is everything Filipino. I love their menu selection.

A nice find! The coffee was great. The satay noodles were okay. Adding this to my list of local cafes I want to go back to again.

Tiny shop with a very hip ambience and tasty drinks. The beans used are from the Philippines which is different and nice to see. The mocha was really good and not very sweet. It looks like there are cakes and other foods but I didn't get a chance to try.

A small intimate cafe serving coffee, pastries and sandwiches. I've only tried the cold Americano and a cookie so far and I am more than satisfied. The coffee had kick and was hardly bitter. The location is a little bit out of the way from the usual crowd but it is worth a visit. I would suggest that the management invest on sturdier furniture pieces. The ones right now, although very modern in aesthetic, are not constructed very well and really heavy, especially the stools. Despite the heft, I was not able to put my entire weight on the tables for fear that I might break them.

It’s a small café, hidden somewhere in Malate. I love that it’s small (few people inside 😅 hihi). Good place to read books or get some work done! For the drinks, I tried the Mocha and Iced Latte. Both were good, would rate both drinks 8/10 😊

This place is a hidden gem in Malate, Manila. It has a cozy ambiance which is perfect for productivity or relaxation. I fell in love with the thai tea latte and the yakisoba. This has become one of my favorite places in Manila.

Such an interesting find along M.H. del Pilar Street. Don't be fooled by the super small space: this cafe packs a whallop in terms of aesthetics. Didn't try their coffee (they use Philippine beans), but I enjoyed the Chai Tea Latte (could have been a bit hotter). Definitely a must visit every time you are in Malate. I haven't tried their food yet, but will definitely do next time.

I cannot understand good reviews here.. It is why I come for breakfast but was very disappointed. The coffee is just undrinkable due to sour milk, it is better next to at 7-eleven. The sandwiches are frozen. Tea not tasty. Unfriendly seller. Too expensive for that poor quality. I don't recommand it at all.

Small but cozy place. Interior design is relaxing, but not dim due to large windows. This maybe helpful if you want to do some work since the brightness can help keep the sleepiness at bay. The cafe is hidden away from the heavy foot traffic of Malate, Manila area. I spent about 4 hours there with no other customers in the shop. They have good, strong coffee with the right amount of "creaminess". They also have a good selection of teas. They use loose-leaf teas that are very aromatic and relaxing. Also, their avocado cheesecake is superb- definitely a must try! They also serve some sandwiches and pastas. I tried the longganisa pasta. But I feel that it was not worth it. It tasted OK but I expected more from its price. Most of the other food items are as pricey as the pasta I tried, but I haven't tasted them yet to make a verdict. There are electrical outlets available for charging your gadgets. Free WiFi is also available. Seats are not cushioned. They are not ideal for lounging around and some people may feel uncomfortable after a few hours of sitting. As I said, the place is out of the way of heavy foot traffic. Normally, you would need to have a private car, Grab, or a taxi to get there comfortably. You may also try the jeeps that pass through MH Del Pilar street if you are familiar with their route. Or you could walk, especially if you want to see the uh... sights of Malate.Haha!

A hard to find, cozy and minimalist café in Malate where you can spend a quiet time with God. 🙏 Their carrot cake is superb too! ❤

  • 4/5 Camille J. 5 years ago on Google
The place has a laidback vibe perfect for quiet study, work or catching up over coffee (or tea) and cookies (or cake). It is unfortunate that the storefront faces west - great if you are waiting for the sunset over Manila Bay (although you can't see it from inside the cafe) - but a little too uncomfortable to be chill.
