We had a reservation here on a Saturday at 3pm. Booking a table was the best decision ever as walk in guests were only allowed seating where the view is not great. So in love with the picturesque backdrop of the Manila Cathedral. We experienced the transitioning from afternoon to night and it was just so lovely for the eyes. I recommend coming here at 3pm or 4pm then staying till 6pm or 7pm. I don't think there's a time limit for how long you can stay. The place was packed starting 5pm. The food though was a bit average, along with the drinks. Would still come back here though.

One star for only because it has good ambience. Place is cozy and chill at night. Foods are mediocre(very salty) and overprice while service is bad. Tables are too small for the size of their plates and bowls. They serve you warm water (warm as Manila) even I asked for iced water. They allow walk in customers at night even they do reservation in advance. So customers weโ€™re gathered in their waiting area. In time of GCQ, restaurants should only have 50% capacity, but when we arrived it was full.

Place is great! Especially during sunset ๐ŸŒ‡ We only went there to have dessert. We ordered different flavors of cake and drinks. Sadly, their fruit smoothies are not all made from real fruits so better ask the waiter first. We don't like the service and the food is just okay. Some servers are rude. You have to call them many times even though it's not that busy at all ๐Ÿ™ˆ Tip: Check the weather when you're planning to go there because there are few spots where you can dine when it's raining.

Instagram-worthy place but poor customer service. Visited this place after attending a Catholic mass at San Agustin Church on a Sunday evening. The restaurant requires a reservation from 3 pm onwards. Walk-in customers must wait until there is a vacant seat. We waited for more than an hour. It was past eight when we enter, and the lights from the Cathedral were already turned off, making the place less attractive. It took more than 1 hour to serve what we ordered. Paying our bill also took long. The food is not worth the price. Only one common rest room and it is not clean. No WiFi in the area. Not a place to come back for food.

We enjoyed our time here a lot! ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’– Aside from the lovely view of the Cathedral (+ to the awesome sunset and night view!) the crew were accommodating and nice. Someone from the cafรฉ (forgot to ask his name ๐Ÿ˜…) also volunteered to take our picture and the shots were fantastic. It was, by far, one of the most excellent customer service I've encountered to date. We will definitely go back here. Thanks for the wonderful experience, La Cathedral. ๐Ÿ’–

This cafe became widely popular cafe in social media as it gives the perfect view of Manila Cathedral on the backdrop. Menu comprises breakfast platters, mains, and a long list of available desserts. Mid-range price points that covers good food

It was my 2nd time to visit this place. The 1st time I went here was last November 2020. It was the time when restaurants are just starting to open again. I went here for brunch and the menu was very limited. I did not enjoy the food much but the place was very nice. I went back this March 2021 and definitely it's much better. Their menu have more choices and the food was delicious as well. Great job. โค๏ธ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Food and view is great. Even got canopy in case of rain. We stayed till almost 9pm. It's harder to get grab or taxi going back makati. Thankfully there are tricycles around who advised us to take tricycle back to main road for taxi/grab

Thereโ€™s a reservation weeks ahead, which is okay. We went here in January. The food is nice, too greasy though. Staff are not attentive though. I had to go to the counter to place my order since Iโ€™m being ignored. The pasta is good, we ordered a seafood oil based pasta. It has mussels and clams, not too flashy, also didnโ€™t give me an impression. The belly bicol express is too greasy. It was highly recommended. I would agree, if you are into grease, this is a must. Donโ€™t if you hate grease. The chicken wings are too dry. Theyโ€™re like wings that are being advertised as dry wings. Ambience is great, highly suggest you book before sundown, around 4pm since they are slow on taking your orders anyway.

La Cathedral Cafe is a hidden restaurant on the rooftop of a couple of establishments. Just keep climbing the stairs until you reach the rooftop to find the simple restaurant. Their staff are friendly, helpful and the service was fast .Maybe because we're the first one in the morning? The food was good the longganisa( chorizos ) with fried rice was the best longganisa I have tried so far and when you came from the U.S. and you got used to the huge portion of food. It's hard to get used to the portion served in the Philippines. it's not fulfilling, but it's enough to get you going. But I do love you. You can see the belltower of the Manila Cathedral on the rooftop, and their sign, as you can see, is eye-catching. Tourists frequently come to this place because of the ambience, but what if it's raining?

The place is great for romantic dinners. Staff are often confused and orders are delayed. They seem understaffed, possibly due to the holiday season. For better seats, make sure you get reservations as waiting times can get quite long for walk-in guests.

This is a very cute little cafรฉ with great seating options, homely decorations and a really comfortable escape from the outside hustle and heat. Their fitting slogan is โ€œa nice homey cafe where the food is hearty, the coffee is strong and the blessings are for free.โ€ We also really enjoyed looking through some of their books which gave great insight into the city!

The food was good we ordered salad and the chicken sandwich with frappe, I just wish they can make their own potato chips haha. I think it's a little bit pricey ๐Ÿ˜… but if you want a picture perfect and good ambiance cafe you can try it out here! Also, if you want a good spot do reservation ahead of time.

I went here on 2/13. It was very crowded. We had to wait for almost 2hrs to be served. If you plan to go here on holiday, youโ€™d better book a reservation on their Facebook page. I ordered a avocado graham smoothie, it was too sweet and powdery. I rate it 2 out of 5. My friend ordered a caramel Machiato, he said the taste was just fine. He rated 2.5 out of 5. The view was nice but I donโ€™t like the decorations were not enchanting. It was a bit messy. I think itโ€™s 3 out of 5. The service staffs were nice except the receptionist guy, he was rude.

I saw this Cafe in tiktok and I was so curious that I had to visit it. I was surprise that the place was full packed and the line going upstairs was very long. We waited for about 30 mins just to try the experience. The Cafe itself is located 4th floor I think and it's in a roof deck which means its an open area. You can feel the fresh air and I love the lights they set up, it feels very romantic. The vibe is very chill and relaxing. We ordered Nachos, Spanish Sardines Pasta (the best!!! Mild spicy), buttered and barbeque chicken wings for our main dish. For our drinks, we ordered Signature Hot Chocolate and Chocolate Chips Frappe. The food is worth the price, typical restaurant. To summarize, me and my friends had a great experience here. We end up going home late because of chikahan to the max. Kudos, La Cathedral Cafe! We had fun.

Good-for-its-price food, instagrammable view, polite and kind service crew, and the over-all ambiance is just lit. We walked-in on a weekday, so the queue isn't that long and we didn't waited too long to be accommodated. If you're planning to visit here on a summer night also, I suggest you to wear light wardrobe as the temperature is quite warm. Worth the hype ๐Ÿ˜Š ** edited: On our second visit, their Shrimp Aligue pasta is a chef's kiss - rich in taste and definitely surpasses our orders from our first visit. We ordered Korean BBQ and found out a few pieces were half-cooked, so the crew took action and we were suprised they replaced the whole dish and not just recooking the pieces we complained for. That's a great customer service! We waited longer to get in though, so I advise that when you plan to visit here, make sure to arrive earlier (if walk-in) or better, make a reservation.

Im giving 5 stars because the place is really beautiful and the service is great. They have a big area for al fresco dining. Food was okay. I really enjoyed the seafood pasta in olive oil. Its seasoned well and its delicious. The adobo and sisig were just okay. Fries overload was a bit disappointing because its not overload. I still gave this a 5-star rating because of the awesome service and the ambiance makes up for the food ๐Ÿ™‚

Excellent ambiance, friendly staff (especially Nicole), wide menu, good price range. A must when in Intramuros. Tip: Reserve in advance so you get the tables with the cathedral in the background. Parking is also limited. Can get crowded so best to sit at the fartherenfs. Might be harder for older people as the stairs are quite steep.

La Cathedral Cafe is one of the most iconic cafes in the City of Manila. It is just located behind the famous Manila Cathedral and the line for walk-in guests can get too long (especially at night). So I suggest that you keep an eye on their reservations calendar so you can book your dinner / lunch their. Itโ€™s much faster that way. The food is delicious, too! What more can I say!

I've seen photos of people visiting La Cathedral and I thought I need to visit too. I visit in the afternoon and it's hot so maybe visit La Cathedral in the evening. Reserve a table so you won't fall in line and wait to be seated. I enjoyed what I ordered. I think I will visit again because some of the food and drinks on the menu that I wanted to try was not available.

What a good place to stay and dine! This is where many can enjoy the good view with in-house creative lights plus star gazing. Food is always the reason you visit this place. A combination of Filipino, Italian, American cuisine is expected here including various drinks in a cafeteria. Expect that more crowd will ply here as the receptionist will queue you, in short this is one of the go-to places in Intramuros. You can always drop off at the Manila Cathedral Church, a minute walk away from this cafe! Cheers!

It was a very lovely experience. The cafe is located at the roof deck decorated with flowers and lights. The line was quite long, especially if u did not make any prior reservation, so best that u do. Though it was okay for us because we ended up, having dinner under the stars ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿคฉ.

Ambiance is really good and so is the food. Every corner of this cafe is really pretty. My biggest issue is the reservation systemโ€”we booked a reservation and didnโ€™t get good seats. When we got there, it felt like it didnโ€™t matter that we had a reservation (no difference if you just simply walked in). Staff was very preoccupied at the time because they had another event. Would love to try eating here again but looks like the quality of service can be a hit or miss. Food is pretty expensive for what it is so we expected the service to be better.

Great ambience inside. Like a formal event hall. You can NOT go directly upstairs to the terrace. You have to note your name and wait until there is available space. If you go in the restaurant, you can go upstairs for pictures only. Food is delicious. And nachos are abundant.

Mediocre food . You come here for the ambience, not the food. Fairly close to the Cathedral. So you are treated to the consistent ringing of the bell...not unpleasantly. Wait staff are more than glad to assist you in taking pictures. Drinks are ridiculously overpriced. Food as well. Oh well.

Loving the chill vibes here, super relaxing with a sweet view, maybe especially around 6pm. The staff is friendly, always smiling, and the service ain't too shabby. Bonus: they'll snap pics of you if you ask. Now, the downside โ€“ the food's a letdown. Couldn't even power through the carbonara, and the cheesecake? Something's off; it just doesn't hit the right taste buds. Even my easygoing bf couldn't handle it. Food has the looks, but they seriously need a better chef in the kitchen.

If you are looking for instagramable place this is the place what youve looking for. I commend their covid protocol upon arrival you will be directed to go at their waiting room where you can answer the health declaration form while waiting your name to be called. The restaurant is very organized. Walk-in guest can enter the establishment from 8 am -3 pm . W/ Reservation guest will be accomodated 3 pm onwards. The food was not too good but yet not bad. Just average. Some of their desserts are also from contis.

Worst customer service I have ever encountered! The lady-staff with the short hair should not be positioned at the reception area because of her rude attitude and tactless mouth. The management should give their employees good training in dealing with the customers. Will I recommend this place? NEVER!!!!! By the way, they don't even deserve the one star!

(Translated by Google) This is by far THE WORST restaurant / cafe I ever went to !! Waited almost 1 hour even though we have a reservation on their online page and the customer service is SUPER DUPER POOR! I will never recommend this cafe. Before reservation, we asked if the children could and they said YES PWEDE DAW. Upon arriving at the restaurant, their waitress shouted at us that the child was not allowed. We showed our conversation that they agreed to take the child with them and they said nothing but they still did not let us in and just caused something what! Secondly, while waiting while my parents were talking regarding that matter, we sat at a table because we thought it was a waiting area, a waitress and OA sent us away saying "no sitting there". VERY INSULTING BECAUSE WE CAN SAY GOOD BECAUSE WE ARE STILL CUSTOMERS. NEVER EVER I WILL RETURN THIS RESTAURANT / CAFE !!!!!!!!! (Original) This is by far THE WORST restaurant/cafe I ever went to!! They said the place was IG worthy, Yes. That's why I gave them 1-STAR. Why? This is a cafe or restaurant that requires quality of services not just for the ambience. Me and my friends dine late as walk-in recently (12.09.2020) and we're all unsatisfied on serving our orders of hot and iced drinks that took more than 1Hour before it was being served. I personally encountered incorrect serving of my order from Red Velvet Latte into a Frappucino (a simple order not well served so I had to replace it with cold drink rather than waiting for another 1hour). Their drinks are not good as we ordered from famous coffee shop. I strongly recommend to improve food serving (less waiting time), attitude of the waiters, simple serenade music that wouldn't affect Church program or nearby offices. Reservation is a must. Walk-in is the key ๐Ÿ‘Œ Patience is a virtue.

(Translated by Google) Our experience tonight was so disappointing! I wrote in a piece of paper our concerns and we asked one of the staff who we would give it to. He asked what our concerns were and without even hearing it, he said that the staff was tired. Okay, we get that but our concerns don't have anything to do with how tired the staff are. Your poor customer service is in no way justifiable. First of all, you are in the food industry serving hundreds of people a day or maybe more, so you should at all times, make sure the food you serve is fresh. You will not take back the salt just so that it will not rot. The pork steak and bistek tagalog we ordered were too salty. Too much! Sore throat. No water was also provided. The chicken curry and the chicken in the ceasar salad taste awful. It looks like sour and very old and itchy on the tongue. Serving food is also stressful. The food was earlier than the utensils. Our foods have a solo plate for all of us, we have five more plates. Tables were so dirty too. And the price on your menu is different from the bill given to us. There is also no social distancing. The place is very crowded. And if you ask me if i'll recommend this place? NO. TOTALLY NOT. (Original) Our experience tonight was so disappointing! Serving is fast, and food is great (most of items in the menu were unavailable when we went there). Bring your own water as they dont serve service or tap water. :)

Strategically located beside Manila Cathedral, which is such a magnificent view to be honest. It has a feel of Europe specifically the St. Peterโ€™s Basilica roofs in Rome/Vatican. Food in the restaurant has nothing special compared to its prices. Still a must visit when you are around Intramuros area.

Go here if you want the aesthetic of the place What we've ordered: Bistek Tagalog, Chili Garlic Prawn, Strawberry Shortcake and coke for drink. Would want to try some of their blended drinks but it was too hot (they only do Al fresco) For the food, price is fair enough, a bit pricey but good enough. What I didn't like is their service or rather their non existent service. We came after lunch of March 25, 2023 and there's actually not so many people so I expected the service to be alright. There are many staff but no one is hands on, I don't think there's even assigned table for each server. Even though there seems to be sufficient number of server, getting their attention seems to be a bit hard. Here are some of the scenarios I've experienced~ First, my glass accidentally fell on the table which of course completely my fault. No one even bothered to help us do the cleaning or even offered a tissue. This would be alright to me if not for the next scenes. For the 2nd one, the server accidentally bump into my umbrella which was on the chair. His reaction was so slow and he didn't even apologized. It's almost as if he wants me to be the one to get the thing he dropped. And for context, the chair my umbrella was in isn't so in the way for it to be actually an inconvenience and the server is not holding anything heavy, hence my confusion on why he's hesitant to get the thing he dropped. Other scenes I'm gonna just explain loosely -cook ringing the bell many times just to get the attention of any server, once again the cafe is not on full house -I hear the servers talking having dilemma on table numbering (very unprofessional) -There were many times servers were just waiting there on the side looking bored but cannot be bothered helping guests on small things. -We're asked if we're the ones who ordered the strawberry shortcake when they should have keep in tab our table number (this one seems really petty but after all those scenes I've said before, this just seems to be a product of incompetent and poor service/training) -We ordered canned drinks and not served with glass on the side (bruh shouldn't this be a common thing) -btw, even giving the cafe menu seems like a hassle to them lol, you get your own menu from the nearby table because it's not in the table you're seated in. When there came another guests who needs the menu, they will get the menu on your table without even excusing themselves . I will surely not recommend this cafe to anyone lol. Was considering to give 2 stars but after recalling the events happened, 2 stars is a bit too generous. Don't be a server if you don't want to serve! Food experience will definitely be affected by your behavior towards the guests. TLDR. Food is alright Place is nice for picture taking Service is so poor, it'll piss you off PS. they charge 8% for their poor service

beautiful scenery, instagrammable and aesthetic. that's the only good side. but the following are not recommendable: -pastry, the cinnamon roll is very dry. The ones bought at typical bakeries are even tastier. i will rate it 4/10 -drinks, coffee and tea are even better in other places. I will rate it 5/10 -Service, their service is very slow. From ordering the food to bill out. I will rate it 3/10

We visited Friday evening 19/01/24. 7:40PM Waited 30-40 minutes seated to get inside for a table. Got assisted right away to take order but order takes longer than expected an hour or so and we had to follow up for a slice of cake 3X so itโ€™s kinda a hassle to get an assistance from staff if you need an assistance or follow up. Food was good, serving size is decent as well. Drink/shakes/frappes were good also. The view was great!

If you're looking for a coffee shop with a great view, a nice ambiance, and not too crowded, then La Cathedral Cafe is definitely worth checking out! The rooftop setting provides an open view of the city, making it the perfect spot for a relaxing cup of coffee. The atmosphere is peaceful and inviting, with a comfortable seating area and plenty of natural light. Whether you're looking to catch up with friends or get some work done, the space is spacious and not too crowded, which makes for a pleasant experience. Of course, the coffee is top-notch as well! The baristas are knowledgeable and passionate about their craft, and the coffee is always brewed to perfection. Whether you prefer a classic latte or a specialty drink, you're sure to find something you love. Overall, It is a great spot to unwind, relax, and enjoy a cup of coffee with a stunning view. Highly recommended! .

I was not having the best day today so I went to Intramurous to be in a cafe where I can think and enjoy a view. I saw La Cathedral and was curious to see the place. However, I wasn't able to reserve a table beforehand (which I usually do but today I went out in a rush). Fortunately, the staff of La Cathedral were kind and accommodating. They still let us in (walk-ins). I think Sir JJ is worth mentioning as he was really kind and accommodating with me, he gave me a table and got my orders. He also checked up on me and asked me how my experience was. The orders went out quickly which was really nice (the food is really good! Too bad my appetite wasn't in the best mood that day). Adon is also very kind and attentive to my table. My table was on the side and not a lot of waiters can see me, but he's very attentive and kind to check up on me as well for any additional orders or anything that I need help with, including taking pictures. Overall, my experience with La Cathedral has been amazing and I will definitely come back with my friends (as well as recommend this place to all my friends). I highly recommend that you reserve a table before coming in to get a better table with a view ๐Ÿ˜Š

I just visited this cafe located nearby a famous cathedral in Intramuros on a whim. I saw this first online when I was looking up for a coffee shop in this tourist spot. I was pleased to discover that how the place looks in actual is the same as how it was represented online. You will not be disappointed. I think I can bring friends here for a nice chat over a cup of coffee and a slice (or two) of cake. It was morning so I had BLT sandwich instead even, if I long to sink a fork on one of the soft cakes on display. I enjoyed the sandwich and frappe I ordered. I think the price of the food and beverage is reasonable considering how lovely the place is. If it looks this great in daytime, I'm pretty sure the ambience is even more amazing at night when the lanterns are all lit up! If I would describe the place in one word, I would say that it's 'Romantic' with its floral details on their decors, stained glass, lamps, sculptures and real plants. I can even imagine it as a place where someone can propose to their beloved. Sweet! Health and Safety rules are also being observed in this cafe. What's nice about it is that it is not an enclosed space, which makes it a bit safer place to hang out with people. They still use metal utensils but they were sanitized and wrapped. QR code can also be used to browse the menu. They are open as early as 8:00 AM and closes as late as at 9:00 PM. You can book a table via their Facebook page, especially if you're coming a bit late. As for me, I just walked in as it was still early and I guessed that there are not a lot of customers during that time... and I was right.

It gives a old school Manila vibe that brings your heart close to home. With a background of the Cathedral church it sure gives you an instagram worthy photos. If you don't want to queue make sure to book your seat in advance. Price of food is fair. Flavor is fair. The ambience is what gives it a 5 star rating.

The food was too expensive. Pasta for group is good only for 2 person not 4. Cafe mocha is too simple. Blueberry dream has a lot of big ice on it, knowing that I ordered smoothie. Not ice blueberry. Also, we ordered avocado graham, just a paste of avocado and alot of graham.

Found this Gem within Manila, for a very indecisive person their Menu is thoughtfully collected and won't disappoint you. Food is great and the place is warm. They also value costumer service ๐Ÿ‘Œ to sum it up, we had the best time. Can't wait to visit again on daytime. Tablea cake is a must.

La Cathedral Cafe is a well-known place for its stunning view and setting. For me, that's where it ends. While the view is great, entry to the place can be a bit more complicated, what will all the health protocols made worse by the number of visitor it receives every day. Since it's a popular cafe, many people go there, which means long lines of waiting for walk-ins, and quick running out of slots for table reservation. When we got there, there was like around 20 people waiting in the facade to go up. Once you get to the second floor, there's still a long line of waiting. Of course, that will only be for walk-ins. Securing a reservation can be more complicated as well. Within 15 minutes of opening the reservation, it's already out. We're lucky to secure a table, but many don't get that chance. Further, the cafe has no alternative should you eat in the open and it suddenly rains. They may help you pick up your food, but you'll wait for tables if you're not yet done eating. The food, I can say, was average, and not worth the price. Overall, I believe it's a great cafe for its view. In the first place, that's what we went there for. Other things can improve, and I hope they do. If you go there, you'll get stunned by the view, but not the service or food.

  • 5/5 Kelvin M. 3 years ago on Google
First of all, reservation slots are hard to find but walk in is still available. Generally the ambiance is really chill, unique, and very romantic. The food for its price was acceptable. What exceeded my expectations was how fast we were served, maybe only around 10mins (but throughout the night other tables experienced delays). Staff is very accommodating starting from the ground floor they'll assist you upstairs if you are booked. Covid protocols are the same, temperature, mask, etc. The roof deck is open air so ventilation is good. If you are after good photos, the cathedral close their lights at around 8:30pm (not sure on weekends). Overall great experience! Hoping to have more places like this in Intramuros. PS. Reserve your slots on FB to avoid very long queues 3pm onwards.

Got up and did the health safety check-all good. Sat on a table with faceshields below the table from the people who previously ate there (ew). As it was raining earlier in the day I didn't expect the place to be perfect. Man,they had puddles everywhere, not good. Fast forward to ordering, I wanted cake and wine. Cheesecakes they didn't have any. With the extensive selection of cakes they only had 3 available ube, tablea and dulce de leche. So much for being a cafe. I went on to order dulce de leche, no wine due to (liquor ban?). I then resorted to ordering an espresso to calm my nerves. To which the waiter decides to school me "mam konti lang po yun" TWICE. Also ordered a solo chicken alfredo and mozzarella cheese sticks. Tha chicken alfredo serving was tiny and bland. (served without utensils)Tasted like instant carbonara sprinkled with some chicken bits- no good. Dulce de leche was meh. I thought the saving grace would be the cheese sticks because how can any restaurant get it wrong, right? Boy was I in for a surprise. It was the cheapest possible mozzarella didn't even taste like cheese. They got the espresso and coke in can right. We wanted to leave asap so as not to waste an entire evening. Just as a final touch they made us wait 30 minutes for the bill. This is testament to the power of social media. This place is not worth your time, effort and money. If you're looking to get decent pictures, yes possibly. Ambiance-zero stars, food-1 star, service-zero stars. PS- sorry to see a couple had their nachos plate sit on a chair because they couldn't give additional table.

Lots of steps put a strain on your legs, but they whet your appetite. The last flight of stairs to the roof restaurant reveals the dome. I didn't know about this restaurant, famous and frequented by many young people ... at a nearby table a couple smiling with her carrying a bouquet of flowers ... Reservations thru their website is like finding a needle in a haystack. Already Fully booked, 30minutes after announcing reservations for the following month. We visited Manila Cathedra and decided to walk around. Didnโ€™t expect that we will see this place. We just decided to walk-in, thinking in ourselves that we will be disappointed because we donโ€™t have reservations. To our surprise, they entertained us. Too many tables were empty. Few servers during our visit. Not a good time to visit especially it was still early (9-10am). Would Like to try visiting it in the evening. Maybe that time, they will stricter in checking the reservations.

Very refreshing place to wine and dine. The ambiance was gorgeous with a nice view of the horizon and a backdrop of the Manila Cathedral. The main dishes and pasta were delicious but the cafe missed a bit on the appetizers. I ordered side dishes of loaded fries and nachos, but they didn't seem as impactful in presentation and taste. That would be my only point for them to hopefully improve on. Despite that, I'd still give them 5 stars and would recommend you try this place for a unique dining experience. -Food Review- I ordered their Bistek Tagalog and a Butterscotch Frappuccino (photos attached). Their Bistek's taste was delicious and they were not shy to give their own flair/flavor to this traditional filipino dish. It made a great impact on me and with the people I was sharing a meal with. Also pictured is their nachos and traditional spaghetti ( No photo of the fries because it was really that underwhelming). The spaghetti was more on the "asim" side and could have used a bit more parmesan cheese or basil to balance it out.

Update! **I'll change my review once I get back to the cafe and notice some changes using the GC they provided. The whole resto is a joke. We paid for 1.1k but they served us microwaved food. Chicken wings are serve in just 3-5 minutes na parang kahapon pa naluto with super dried corn. Thier sisig is precooked and overcooked (tutong). The lettuce isn't fresh. The only fresh food they served was the egg put on top of sisig. The food was very pricey but the quality of food wasn't there. They even put service charge. It's not worth it. Waste of money. Also the guard asked us to pay for parking after presenting receipt from cafe. He asked us to pay 50 pesos without issuance of parking ticket. Later we found out that parking is free as per their page manager on facebook. They promised to give gift certificate because of our dissapointment. But after a day, they never sent gift cert as a compensation and just seen my message. #UPDATE They already sent me the gift certificate using my email. Very traumatic. It gave me a feeling of avoiding Manila when it come visiting tourist spots and cafe. They don't have review section on thier fb page. Maybe because they always get complains. The view was great but the food is terrible. #visit at your own risk

Unique and amazing view of the cathedral in a beautiful terrace, ideal to enjoy a refreshing stop. Main downside is that they did not have many of the smoothies on the menu, and even though the blueberry one ended up being a positive surprise, we were left with no choice. We just had to wait for 5 minutes in order to get in, but it is usually more than that (as there are not many tables). Nevertheless, staff is nice and properly coordinated.

The ambiance is nice and the food is good. We ordered frappe and iced coffee as well as beef nachos and fries. The nachos and fries have large portions. The drinks were delicious and the grande size is regular sized. You just need to wait downstairs for your table if it's a weekend. For elderly and pwd it might be a bit challenging as you need to climb stairs.

La Cathedral Cafe is located near Manila Cathedral and pretty accessible for commuters. There's also a limited parking available in front of the building. This cafe is perfect for couples as it gives romantic vibes due to its setup. They have an organized system in catering their customers so its a plus. You can have an advanced booking through their page. The food is just okay with a mid-range price.

After finding this place online which seemed popular I decided to visit for breakfast. Food doesnโ€™t start until 11.30 so you can only order coffee or cafe before then. Oops. I got a blueberry muffin and iced caffe latte. Muffin looks good but then once eating it there are no blueberries inside just a small drizzle on top. Iced coffee tastes mainly of milk and is incredibly weak. Setting is very nice though and you can hear the cathedral bells which is nice. Iโ€™d recommend coming after 11.30 for lunch instead and maybe youโ€™ll have better luck for food.

Located right behind the Manila Cathedral, which is the main Church of the Archdiocese of Manila, La Cathedral Cafe has been the go-to spot for your IG stories and social media content because of its picturesque nature especially when the sun sets. It delivers in this regard and the owners, Gabriel and Kaila de la Cruz have done well. Food, especially desserts and coffee (they say) are fantastic. We were here for lunch and tried their rendition of Beef Mechado (โ‚ฑ710 for sharing) and Bagnet Bicol Express (โ‚ฑ645 for sharing) and you could taste the quality and freshness of the ingredients and that it was prepared by someone who had a culinary arts background. What I cannot forget though was the broken down toilets that did not have running water. For a restaurant that brings in hordes of guests because of the hype created, this should be job number 1 to be remedied.

  • 3/5 Jack S. 7 months ago on Google
The food was brilliant, but everything else was really poor. The staff was inattentive and not helpful, there was no running water in the bathroom, and the prices were too high for the overall experience.

Went here for a late lunch and do some work after going to BIR RDO offices in Intramuros (walking distance). It was around 1pm so there were only several customers but the 3rd floor was closed as they were preparing for an event so I headed up to the roofdeck with the view of Manila Cathedral. The roofdeck area is nice if it was around sunset but since I came here at 1pm, it was scorching hot so I sat in a little shaded area. I ordered Adobo and iced macchiato coffee. the adobo arrived after 22mins while the iced coffee was served after 14mins. the macchiato was so-so, not worth the price. the adobo is too salty and too oily for me. i later on ordered iced matcha to drown the salty and oily adobo. the matcha is not too strong but not too milky.. i can still taste the matcha. in terms of service, they have few staff members when i visited and few customers but i would say it's quite okay. i just had some challenges in calling the waiters since no one really stays in the roof deck.

You definitely come for the ambience and the view. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't favorable when we came in so we weren't allowed to sit where there was no roofing. The drinks were average at best and nothing special and so was the dessert. Their serving sizes could be good for 1-3 people, depending on appetite and preference, or if you're ordering more than one food item on the menu. It would likely be best to plan the time you come since when were leaving around 5:30pm, the line was upto down the ground floor (which is yes, a lot of people), but it was also a Sunday. So, just take that into consideration when planning to dine here.

Youโ€™re practically paying for the ambiance. For the place and the price, i was expecting more. Food Ordered garlic parmesan wings(too salty), creamy truffle pasta (could barely taste the truffle) chicken alfredo and aglio olio (bland). They didnโ€™t have juices soft drinks and smoothies so ended up getting bottled water instead, probably the reason of not having service water available. Take note this was an early dinner around 5pm, Dec 8. Service, bad When you order appetizers, they expect you to eat with your hands and eat on the bare table as there were no plates and cutlery provided when the food arrived. You had to ask for one that takes forever to arrive. Again, ended up going to their kitchen area to get some Had to go to their area multiple times for a glass of ice and water since water sold (wilkins) comes out warm. No iced glass provided, probably part of their cost cutting.

We went here for dinner last December 28, 2023, I went with my cousins cause they were here in Manila for the holidays, so I thought I will bring them to La Cathedral since I enjoyed the last time we dined here. We arrived at the place and it was not as packed as when we first went, and when it was our time to order, we did so promptly. After a few minutes the appetizers, cake, bottled water( yes, you have to pay for your water), and the iced coffees arrived and I was like wow that was fast, or so I thought. Our main dishes got completed after MORE THAN AN HOUR. We ordered four solo main dishes. The only dish I could MAYBE excuse from arriving that late was the Kare Kare IF THEY HAVE TOLD ME but they did not and it was not even the last dish that arrived, it was the pork steak that we have seen being served to others way before us. If I did not remind the server to double check they wouldn't have noticed how long it was already taking. The foods served earlier already got cold, cause we all ought to eat AT THE SAME TIME, what's the point of eating together if we do not wait for my cousins' orders. The other tables who got seated the same time as we did were already finished, while we were just about to start. We already lost our appetite, and only ate some of the food. We asked them to just wrap the leftovers so we can take them home. This kind of service for SUCH A STEEP PRICE and for food that just tastes so-so. Not worth it. Hope they improve cause the beautiful ambiance and setting was easily ruined by the bad experience, what's the point of it.

I went here just last night. The food was good enough, not served hot though. The drinks we're served just held by the waiters, not even placed on a tray. They have a service charge but the service sucked. I literally had to request for my order to be taken THRICE, and my bill to be given THRICE also. It felt like the staff we're not taking me seriously. Staffs we're not accommodating unless you're a foreigner. We asked where the restroom was in the waiting area and the staff kept talking to each other.

๐Ÿ‘ They serve unlimited bread which are so smooth and buttery that I liked them so much! The ribs were also tender and delicious (and they serve it without sauce, which is a bit unusual). They have relatively and understandably high prices. There are seasonal credit card promos so you might want to ch...

๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ Authentic place! Really great food. The best was the shrimps dumpling. But all other dishes were good. The service was great and the menu was well explained by the waiters. The tea was perfect with the food. Recommend! Hopefully, we can visit again once in Philippines.

๐Ÿซค The place needs a deep cleaning and update. I saw roaches crawling around on multiple occasions. Additionally the pool tables are a centerpiece to the bar and are not maintained well at all. They are unbalanced and the felt is old. The pool sticks are all old and warped as well. I know this establis...
