Php 350 for an ordinary grilled cheese with too thick brioche that you can barely taste the cheese. Horchata was Php 220. Prices are too steep for not so extraordinary food. To be fair, we came here for breakfast. Must be a different story if we came for drinks. Intriguing location and interior. There was no sign outside which adds to the intrigue and mystery of the place.

The Curator is what you want in a speakeasy: quaint little place tucked away from crowds or passersby. You can easily throw back a few drinks with friends or nurse a cocktail alone. Vibe is relaxed, unpretentious, and un-intimidating even for newbies - a feat considering this is ranked as the #1 bar in the Philippines and #38 in Asia according to the 50Best List for 2021. The cocktails menu is pretty comprehensive with a description of what's in each drink, the vessel it's served in, it's taste profile, and a little backstory. And the best thing: they don't skimp on the booze!

Came For drinks — and enjoyed it. Had fun reading through the menu where the concept Was the drink they’d have with the people In it. Has a flavor wheel so you can know what you’re getting. 💯 Service is top notch! Cant wait to Go back!

Came for the honey grilled cheese but was disappointed. It cost 350 and didn't taste like anything special. Not that it tasted bad but I think my expectations were too high. Would have to give it to the extremely friendly and accommodating staff though! 5/5 to them.

Very low key speakeasy. Good music and atmosphere. Bartenders are great and attentive. Great place to visit.

Great cocktails, but even better staff. Sit at the bar and have a great night chatting away whilst sipping on whatever liquor you prefer. You might even get treated to some singing from the staff (Lei). The owners worked/studied in Vancouver, so a few of my friends actually knew about this place and recommended to me

Probably the best black coffee I’ve had while I was in town. I had left to go use the bathroom and they accidentally threw my coffee out, BUT the server came by and apologized and poured me a new cup. That was awesome =) I had some Legaspi menu item and it was kind of pricey for a few pieces of bread, jam, and butter. I also wished they had provided wifi here, but they done :/ Nonetheless, the shop itself was artsy and comfy.

Good Cafe! Seating is rather uncomfortable at the coffee area especially if you're working for long. Our Ethiopian brew of the day and iced Espresso with milk were both good. Honey Grilled Cheese Sandwich was excellent with a nice swirl of tomato dip. We couldn't resist going into the deserted bar area and trying out a Gin with egg white & citrus and a Cafe Milano with frangelico & campari among other ingredients. Excellent cocktails priced at php 500 a pop.

Fantastic spot for coffee and/or cocktails! Loved their champorado latte especially; so yummy in every sip and baristas were also really friendly. Pastries and snacks are also available if you want a quick bite. Thought their speakeasy element was also pretty cool when we went to the bar area. Bartenders were incredibly friendly and welcoming the moment we stepped in. They were very knowledgeable on all the different drinks they had available, and were also kind enough to offer to make something off the menu, which I thought was a lovely touch to the experience. So great to see The Curator make the Asia’s 50 Best Bars list once again this year - it is truly well deserved, given the amazing cocktails they make here.

By far one of the best bars to chill out in Makati. And they can make the best cocktails in town. 😍 We went on a Wednesday, so they had 2000 RnB music playing. My kind of vibe. Spending adult money, having adult conversations, adult drinks and the whole vibe makes you feel young 😍

  • 3/5 Kira C. 1 year ago on Google
Only giving a 3 star because I find the place a little expensive for the taste of their coffee. Although ambiance is nice and the service crew were friendly. Just the price to the coffee taste doesn't match for me. The cold brew was a little acidic but very fruity.

Good coffee and nice place. We stayed in the bar area which was pretty spacious and very cool (literally cold 😂) . Ordered the Mocha, which was good but didn't really had anything special in it. Will surely try the other drinks next time.

They serve great coffee. Dark matter theory is our staple at home. Service is warm and ambiance is great. The only issue is they don't have free parking unless you come on sundays or holidays hehe but definitely worth a visit!

Great coffee shop in the heart of Makati, the home blend Americano is definitely up there as one of the best coffee blends I've ever tasted. Nice place to chill out with friends or after a long day at work. Only comment is that they only serve coffee until 5PM and only serve cocktails after that.

Have been going for close to ten years, and it’s only been getting better. Cocktail wise, you’re in for one of the most creative bars in the world. They’re just excellent, be it from the menu or with craft drinks. Apart from this, service is incredible and the staff is beyond friendly. Very much recommended, and will for sure go back next time I’m in town.

Been a while since I was last in Curator and I'm happy that it's going strong! Gone though is the wine shop out front, and the connecting door is now always open. It was a quick visit today, must come back and linger.

I just had a Sicilian Lemonade fizz which was super refreshing. The staff were very nice. The indoor dining area is small but the aircon was strong and very nice since it was so hot out. It is a nice cafe. Their menu is limited but very intriguing.

Excellent coffee by day and top notch cocktails in the evening. My favourite was #stillhurting. Book ahead in the evening as it fills up quick.

Small intimate space with delicious and imaginative cocktails. I enjoyed their "Galleon Trade" cocktail which had rum, tequilla, horchata, Frangelico among other ingredients. I liked the creaminess from the horchata with the punch from the rum (Bacardi 8) and tequilla (1800 Reposado).

One of my all time coffee shops in the Philippines, the staff's great, the place looks amazing, and their coffee? So good!

  • 3/5 Renz L. 1 year ago on Google
The curator coffee is like a boutique cafe located at palanca street. It has a hidden bar at the back as well. The place looks chic and nice. Not really meant for big crowds, but just for small groups. As the name suggest, i was expecting a long list of coffee varieties but it was just a short list. Nonetheless, taste is okay, friendly staff and nice place.

  • 5/5 Berdy K. 1 year ago on Google
Cozy speakeasy hidden behind their cafe on the main street. They have a pretty creative menu that helps you visualise the flavour profile of each drink and also the glasses they will be served in. The menu itself is pretty extensive, but you can request a personalised drink. Drinks were overall tasty and inexpensive, but the service and ambience are the highlight. Bartenders and waitstaff were entertaining and everyone was having a good time!

  • 4/5 Eizen B. 10 months ago on Google
The Curator is the type of cafe-bar ideal if you want to simply chill out. It’s somewhat hidden, making it more interesting especially for cafe hunters like me. Given its location, there are still a relatively huge number of guests here. They have limited space, so your time of visit is a crucial factor here. A door away from the main counter is where their bar’s at (opens at 6:30 PM). Inside it are two tables which can accommodate up to 8 guests each. If these are full, you may opt to enjoy your drinks outside instead (although it could get a bit hot). I think they could benefit from serving finger food; they only have cookies and sandwiches as of my visit. Their coffee could please those who love their cup bitter. Prices are higher than expected, but reasonable provided the location. There’s only one toilet for all genders.

Their cocktails are so individual and deep. I wanted to come here once. I'm excited to see what kind of cocktails I can enjoy from the menu. With someone important, with friends,or even alone. Enjoy your evening in a nice atmosphere! And of course afternoon coffee!

  • 5/5 Julien M. 1 year ago on Google
This place was so awesome it’s hard to describe. Really swanky back of house hidden bar from the main interior. The drinks are outstanding and the bartenders know exactly what they are doing. The vibe is so nice and everyone was really sweet, informative and engaging. They were full when we got there but allowed us to drink in the main space until the bar cleared up, which was super nice. The coolest thing about the place was the drinks concepts, based off of icons both on and off the bar scene. HIGHLY recommend!!!

Been stopping in here for years when I'm in the city. The coffee is fantastic, with a choice of various roasts of their own as well as some guest roasters. For as good as the coffee is, the cocktails are even better. Some of the more creative cocktails I've come across, and their detailed menu book makes it easy to find something to your liking—and staff is more than willing to give you some guidance if you can't decide! I also appreciate the chill vibe, no overly loud music, so you can actually have a conversation with the people you're with.

The Curator tops it to my list of speakeasy bars in Manila, with amazing super friendly bar staff, authentic well crafted cocktails with a nice nod to local Filipino ingredients, liquor and inspiration references. When you’re in Makati, definitely check them out! 👌🏻

  • 5/5 Philix M. 7 months ago on Google
They have a relatively new cocktail menu and they are helpful to make sure you get the flavor or taste you prefer for your cocktails. You can also ask for customized drinks or off menu drinks. No food is served at the evening but they provide chips at the table.

We visited this cocktail bar and cafe on two occasions within days after seeing a recent YouTube interview with the owners. Very friendly staff and well spoken, great cocktail service offering in a somewhat hidden location in a trendy part of Makati. Highly recommended, suggest booking in advance.

A proper gem that's well worth a visit if you fancy a cheeky cocktail or three. The staff were nothing but lovely and their menu is rather fun. Each item has a lovely illustration that shows the person who inspired each of their drinks, I recommend the Hidetaka Miyazaki "Walkthrough". It's delicious.

  • 5/5 Vita Dolce L. 4 months ago on Google
The waiter is friendly and enthusiastic. I walked in without reservations so I had a seat in front of the cafe bar. They led me into the bar when I ordered the second drink. I love the moods and the vibe inside because the bartender is welcoming. Most important of all, the cocktail is so special and so good. I’d like to try the brunch next time.

Delicious and creative cocktails with a fun little manual to help you choose between their signature drinks :). Two drinks in and I was in love with everything there; the ambiance, the drinks, the good service. Had to come back a second night in a row instead of heading to the airport early. Seriously, come try it.

  • 3/5 Little Liz S. 3 years ago on Google
Our fault maybe we didn't ask what's the brew of the day and we just ordered it. I didn't like it because it has chocolate which made our coffee sour. Overall our experience is okay. Food's not that great and a bit pricey for just a bland Honey Grilled Cheese. But it can do better I think.

  • 4/5 Hans Erickson L. 6 years ago on Google
This place has been updated. You don't need to go through Cyrano anymore because they have expanded their shop while still maintaining the great interiors. I had their cold brew and it was really refreshing. There are sockets on the walls and the baristas are very nice. I really recommend checking this place out

  • 5/5 Mike G. 4 years ago on Google
Quite possibly one of the top 10 bars I've ever been to. I mean, hey, when you have more bitters than one can imagine, then think of the types of cocktail innovation you'll taste. Each drink was masterfully crafted with a whole psychology behind the approach of each drink. I suggest eating hearty before going and make sure you leave the place with wobbly legs. Their cocktail list is deep and deserves a Jacques Cousteau-esque dive into it's deepest depths.

  • 4/5 Alan M. 4 years ago on Google
Very good drinks, speak easy entrance which gives you this feeling of going in a secret place. We were sitted on the couches that were not so comforble, are quite higher than a chair, and to be a sofa like doesnt allow you to really relax. In the beginning we were allowed to stay only at the coffee counter which was not ideal. We waited around 15 minutes before receiving our 2 drinks, which i thought was slightly a long waiting considering that was 1 am and we could not see the inside how full it was. When i walked in the room it looked like it had around 30 people or so. Nonetheless drinks were superb and worth the waiting. Waiter was nice and it seem quite busy, was missing some friendly feeling but i justified because it was rush hour. Decorations in the bar were not that surprising or bar in general didn t look that great this doesn t pay justice to drinks quality. My 2 spritz were consistent and probably was the best spritz i ever drink. Chapea, if can improce decorations, sitting and bar area would be a stand out place. Other consideration, better keep people waiting without serving drinks rather than sit them in the cofee shop with almost not light an no personality. I think is a waist to use that part as coffee shop. co7ld be all a good bar that may serve coffees during the day and.have extra space at night and during day while serving coffes.

Recommended. A "secret" bar just inside a coffee shop a few hundred metres away from Fairmont/Raffles Hotel. Fantastic drinks, and on the Asia top 50 list (2019). Great service, laid back place; likely the best bar for bespoke cocktails in Manila.

One of the best bars I've ever been to in the world. And currently the best bar I've gone to in the Philippines. I've only gone to the cocktail bar in the back however a friend of mine says the coffee they serve during the day is fantastic. The cocktails the offer on the menu are some of the most creative and best tasting mix's I've had, they rotate their menu now and again which helps to spice things up. You can also order regular cocktails too and ask barstaff for a custom order. Cocktails will run between 300-550 custom cocktails will be more depending on the components. These prices are more than reasonable for what you're going to get. If you like whisk(e)ys their selection is also one of the best I've seen in the Philippines, lots of Islay and Irish choices which I don't often see. Pricing is reasonable for the selection however some bottles are priced inconsistently but that's to be expected due to scarcity and import fees. Anywhere between 450-1800 The atmosphere is incredible, it really encompasses this sort of minimalist speakeasy philosophy. It looks great without being distracting or over the top, very comfortable seating and larger tables for bigger parties. I do recomend that groups with more than 4 people book ahead. The bar staff are also very knowledgeable and super friendly, they'll often throw you a free shooter for the road too. This is now my go to bar in the Makati area and I see it winning within the top 50 bars in Asia from here on out.

  • 5/5 Alexandra H. 4 years ago on Google
We visited in 2015 both the coffee shop and the speakeasy at night - and it was one of THE MOST memorable parts of our short visit in Manila. Our bartender was incredibly hospitable and was so open to ensuring we had a unique visit, he treated us like we were the only ones there. Hands down would go back in a heartbeat if only for this place!
