Top notch service and superb selection of Japanese dishes from sashimi, sushi, teppanyaki, omakase just to name a few.

You can tell that the ingredients are of high quality and they have a fairly extensive selection of food. Although we would have wished that there were better Japanese options, the others compensate for it. Favorites are steak, samosa, salmon, cheeses, and dessert, particularly the dark chocolate tart. Also, they have high chairs but don’t have baby/kiddie utensils

Fantastic service and great atmosphere! The menu is extensive and everything we tried was wonderful and fresh-tasting. Their sushi, teppanyaki, grilled fish, hot pots, noodles, and soups are all delicious! We ate here two times during our three day stay at the Shangri-La.

Convenient if you do not wish to leave the hotel. Otherwise it is overtly expansive for a a second-tier Japanese restaurant. Service and products are satisfactory.

Pretty good Japanese food, though not worth the price unless one is willing to pay for convenience. I just don't think it's worth paying 3K+ for sushi or chirashi without it having at least some uni or ikura. The fish head dishes, however, are worth it.

I know things have been different, but its just sad that in order to cater to the long line, the quality declined (japanese station). .it used to be the best japanese station over all the buffets I've tried. But right now :(

Buffet dining has never been so great at the Café Ilang-Ilang. The restaurant boasts of several varieties of viands for every one. Food selection is a plenty consisting of Filipino, Weatern, Japanese, Korean, and Middle Eastern cuisine.

Amazingly fresh sashimi. Pretty good sake, too -- hot or cold.

We usually go for the Sunday lunch buffet. They serve good quality food like sushi, sashimi, sukiyaki and other delicious Japanese dishes. The highlight I think is their teppan. You can have fresh beef, shrimps or fish grilled just the way you like it. Miso soup and shrimp tempura can be ordered which are not on the buffet tables but are included. And don't forget to try their Macha, Black Sesame or Red Bean Ice cream (depends on availability), also included but not in the buffet tables. Unlimited Iced Tea is now also part of the lunch buffet.

Who doesn’t like Japanese buffets? One never gets tired of it. The spread makes it harder for you to select what to start with. With the number of sushi and sashimi choices, you want to make sure you have enough space to try each one, since they all look so enticing. Of course, the steak, thin strips or cubes, melts in your mouth goodness, cooked in garlic butter and just a dash of salt and pepper. Ahhhhh, this is just heaven on a grill. Different soba varieties with the cold soba being the best of them all, hands down. And... how can one go without dessert? The highlight of the buffet? Their Fox’s strawberry made Cotton Candy. The sugar rush THEN crash is well worth it. I’ll definitely be back for more and more and more and more. @grace.a.adventures

One of the better and more authentic Japanese restaurants in Makati.

  • 4/5 Gelyn C. 4 years ago on Google
Ordered the recommended teppanyaki lunch set and seafood okonomiyaki on the side. The prawn and salmon are cooked perfectly and as a matter of fact, really delicious. The beef however was not cooked - medium as directed and it’s a bit chewy. The Seafood Okonomiyaki, for me - not even close to Dohtonbori and a bit expensive. 800 PHP - big serving, yeah but did not satisfy my pallete. Ambiance and service, these are exceptional. Good venue for business lunch or dinner meetings. Or when you’re a fan of hotel dining experience.

Great set lunches on weekdays and wonderful Utage Buffet on weekends. Too bad they don't serve Wagyu at the buffet anymore (they did many moons ago).

Went there on a sunday brunch for my wifes' birthday. The only highlight is on their teppanyaki which is a good piece of steak. Service is very poor, we asked for a sukiyaki to be delivered on our table and we ask about it for a number of times. We ended to wait for the chef to do our sukiyaki and one customer was angry to us as she was also waiting which like we already asked it to be delivered to our table numerous of times. Also for the Ebi tempura which we also asked to be delivered as they just refill the tempura so little and people just swarm on it. We are paying like 2500++/pax and it doesnt deliver on what we paid for.

Had dinner with friends yesterday. The place only accepts customers with prior reservations. Social distancing is observed. Acrylic barriers are placed to only display food. You have to tell the servers or chefs what you want to eat and they'll prepare it for you. Expect a line and minor waiting time around the buffet area. Buffet operations starts 5 pm and ends at 8:30pm, so better come early.

The selection of food and cuisine is amazing! Definitely better than the usual buffets in the malls. For Php 2775, this is a very good price! Their US beef ribs is a MUST TRY

I did not regret having lunch in this restaurant. The place is huge and food selections are great! Didnt expect that it would be like this. The beef churasco, the US beef steak, lechon, and the lobsters were my personal favorites. I loved how they prepared the steak. It was cooked according to my preference. The churasco was grilled in front of you. The dessert counter was overflowing with local and international cuisines. It was a paradise for dessert lovers. Water, coffee, and tea are also included in the buffet. Alcoholic and carbonated drinks not included. Make a reservation prior visiting the place. Just to be sure that you will be getting a seat. It was jam-packed during our lunch visit! Will definitely visit this restaurant again!

Favorite place to eat at by my girlfriend, she loves Pepper Lunch but is torn between the high prices of non Express Pepper Lunches. Perfect middle ground, and it's on the foodcourt so I can eat what I want.

Perfect. Customer Service at this place is always beyond exception. Relaxing ambiance with music, variety of food to satisfy your craving, fast order lane, though sometimes the line was long but worth waiting. efficient food attendants, clean place. They have restroom but not working during my service but could've been better if it was working and ready to use. Even so, definitely Highly recommended.
