😐 Hats off to the very accommodating staff, and please take note of the leaking air conditioner near the Chinese/Korean section. Regarding the gastronomic experience, not all the food is delicious, but the desserts are outstanding, especially the ice cream! One of the most relaxing buffets we've ever been to. There were no long lines, not too noisy, you're not elbow to elbow with other customers and food were replenished quickly. The staff were attentive to our needs at all times. The selection is not as big as in other buffets but we honestly think it is just enough and everything we tasted were fresh and yummy! All in all, we enjoyed our food and we enjoyed our stay! We can't wait to come back!

Although there is no particularly attractive meal (such as lobster), the quality of all the ingredients is above the standard, which shows that they understand the importance of the foundation. The food presentation and lighting are great. In addition, the service staff is also very attentive. When she saw that I had taken dessert and ice cream, she immediately asked if I needed coffee or tea. Three favorite foods for me and my companions; 1. Ice cream 2. Garlic butter shrimp 3. roasted rib eye But there are a few shortcomings I want to respond: 1. I tried to call to book a table at 5pm, but no one answered my call 2. We ordered 2 coffee from the bartender before we checkout, and he disappeared after he answered us. We waited for more than 20 mins than decided to give up coffee. 3. After paying, no one gave us the change and receipt after waiting for more than 15 minutes. We decided to give up the receipt and coffee. Apart from the above shortcomings, this restaurant is still great overall. I will definitely visit again.

Celebrated my birthday at this beautiful restaurant inside Manila Pen. Advance booking is very much suggested. They gave me a complimentary chocolate cake for my birthday. Friendly staff and quick service. They have a wide variety of food selection in their buffet. They have salad section, pasta bar, Japanese, Chinese, and seafood, plus a lot more. Coffee and ice cream plus sweets to end a good meal.

Beautiful Filipino style interiors, and very wide selection of food. Though I zeroed in on the lechon, Cebu style. Plus the desert! Very good service too. Definitely worth it for an indulgent lunch.

A perfect Friday night! Well-designed interior. Cozy, clean, and well presented place for dinner. Table layout was arranged properly. Lights are well balance. Staffs are very attentive and smart. Must try: Ribeye steak, sushi, cheese pizza, gellato peanut butter, gellato blueberry Buffet price for a Friday dinner is worth php3000 with inclusion of coffee and/or hot TWG tea. For additional drinks... 1 Coke can is worth php240. 1 Lemon ice tea glass is worth php320. Generally, it's a perfect place that you would go back for more 🤩

The buffet had just the right amount of dishes so as not to be too overwhelmed with the selection. The ambiance is cozy and features great natural light and indoor plants. Staff are very attentive and friendly, providing excellent service. Lunch was not too crowded and health protocols were in place. I loved the salad and grill stations.

The breakfast buffet is really nice, with a mix of western and Asian food. Wish the dinner buffet had more options, especially a nice pasta station or more western options. Service is very slow. Expect to wait a while for your drinks and forever for the check.

I had lunch with 2 friends in Escolta today. I want to commend Rica Tolentino (in the bread & cheese section), who went the extra mile to get me a fruit item that I couldn't find at the fruit spread. Rica's customer service exemplifies what every diner expects at The Pen. By the way, Rica's natural sense of problem resolution saved the day because I was starting to feel disappointed after I asked 2 other staff replenishing the dessert items and they dismissed me by saying the item must have been all gone.

I can't give an in depth review as my stomach capacity is not enough to sample everything. If you're planning on getting into a food coma, this is the place. Drinks included in the buffet are hot and cold water, coffee, and tea.

You can tell that the ingredients are of high quality and they have a fairly extensive selection of food. Although we would have wished that there were better Japanese options, the others compensate for it. Favorites are steak, samosa, salmon, cheeses, and dessert, particularly the dark chocolate tart. Also, they have high chairs but don’t have baby/kiddie utensils

They would not let the patrons in before 12noon. When they finally let everyone in, the place got so full. Had they opened half an hour earlier, the crowd/line along the buffet tables would have been more manageable. The quality of the food is superb but they had a little of everything (Japanese, Chinese, Western, Italian) and didn't have an obvious theme... unless that was the effect the management was going for. Coffee was watery too - note: I ordered a cup of their regular/brewed.

(Translated by Google) Because we stayed at Peninsula with a plan with breakfast, this Escolta was the breakfast venue. Buffet style, mainly Japanese and Western dishes. The menus are plentiful and good, but the quality of each was not very high and was disappointing. The only omelet that cooked on the spot was delicious. Other than that, the edge of the lettuce for salad was discolored, the granola was moist, and the bread was dry, which was a bit disappointing. If you want to order a café au lait etc., you can make it at the coffee machine immediately after entering the entrance. This was delicious.

The food was good as always. The waiter at our table was quite new but no biggie with me since I do understand we were all new at work at some point in our lives. The entire restaurant staff sang me happy birthday & gave me a cake when they found out that very day was my birthday.

  • 4/5 Brian 6 years ago on Google
Breakfast is nice and extensive, however it is also very busy and quite expensive. Every time I touched my table it rolled and spilled juice and coffee everywhere. They were too busy to even ask to be moved. Seems to be a bit of a social gathering (even at breakfast) and some obese American tourist will stop by friends tables and inanely discuss their entire days itinerary for those unfortunate to be anywhere near them.

I did not regret having lunch in this restaurant. The place is huge and food selections are great! Didnt expect that it would be like this. The beef churasco, the US beef steak, lechon, and the lobsters were my personal favorites. I loved how they prepared the steak. It was cooked according to my preference. The churasco was grilled in front of you. The dessert counter was overflowing with local and international cuisines. It was a paradise for dessert lovers. Water, coffee, and tea are also included in the buffet. Alcoholic and carbonated drinks not included. Make a reservation prior visiting the place. Just to be sure that you will be getting a seat. It was jam-packed during our lunch visit! Will definitely visit this restaurant again!

Had dinner with friends yesterday. The place only accepts customers with prior reservations. Social distancing is observed. Acrylic barriers are placed to only display food. You have to tell the servers or chefs what you want to eat and they'll prepare it for you. Expect a line and minor waiting time around the buffet area. Buffet operations starts 5 pm and ends at 8:30pm, so better come early.

My recent visit to Escolta at The Peninsula Manila was a mixed bag, with highs and lows that left me pondering. Service, as anticipated from a high-end hotel, was on point – attentive and courteous, as you'd expect. Food, however, proved to be a bit of a rollercoaster. While some dishes were impressive, the overall quality left me with an "okay but not great" impression. Cold cuts and the cheese selection didn't boast the premium quality I had hoped for, and certain main courses lacked the flavor punch I was craving. Desserts had their quirks too – the leche flan felt a bit overly gelatinous. Yet, amid the ups and downs, there were standout items that saved the day. The grilled shrimp, mussels, and lechon showcased a mastery of flavors, each dish perfectly grilled to a smoky, natural-sweet perfection. A hiccup came with the grilled shrimp – the lack of proper deveining left me disappointed, a small detail that could have elevated the experience. The atmosphere, fortunately, retained its charm. Cozy, clean, and imbued with true Filipino aesthetics, the interior still holds the magic that has always drawn me to Escolta. Reflecting on the past, it's a puzzling shift from the food I used to adore. Nevertheless, the lesson here seems to be to tread carefully, sample in moderation, and enjoy what genuinely impresses you. Buffets rarely hit the mark with every offering, and Escolta, while not the same as before, still has its moments of culinary brilliance.

Excellent international and Filipino/Asian buffet. Food choice is not very large but the quality is definitely high. The service is awesome and the location is elegant and cozy, without being overly formal. Price excludes drinks. Wine list is quite nice, but expect to pay your choice dearly.
