Loved everything about it! From the entry to the restaurant, where you'll be greeted and treated well. They'll offer their unique cocktails and make sure you feel comfortable. To the serving of the 7 dishes from the tasting menu. To the flavors of the dishes themselves that are new to my tongue. You'd get your value for money! Will definitely go back. PS. There are parking spaces around the area, but I think it gets full easily

Ambiance is my first priority for choosing a dinner place to eat , Metiz is simply beautiful and elegant . the lighting is complimenting to the food, and to everyone’s face . It’s an open kitchen , clean , quiet and not smoky . The food was so delicious . Filipino nouvelle cuisine . Stephan the chef is a real artist , he combines many ingredients in all non traditional ways . The dessert is a surprise that combines coconut, banana and many other ingredients . He said his menu will change often . What talent .

I’ve been meaning to try this place since they landed in Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants and it surely did not disappoint. Loved the intricacy and boldness of their course menu! Personal favorites were: the second course (hard to understand the words in the menu & how they all come together, but it’s a dish to remember!) the aged Zambales pork served with egg yolk & crab fat fried rice P.S. Don’t forget to book in advance

Such a pleasant dining experience. The ambiance was low lit lighting and modern interior offer a soft, intimate dining setup. It felt quite romantic. We started with some cocktails. They were light and refreshing. Extra emphasis on light because after four cocktails, I expected to at least feel a slight buzz but nothing. My favorite was the Mestiza which is a take on whiskey sour. First course was served after 15mins and they're very attentive that when you're done, they clear it and ready you for the next one. Food was interesting but only the dessert managed to wow me. Everything else was too acidic which makes sense since they pickle most vegetables in house. Balance felt off. Some were too rich, others too acidic with nothing to cut through. Overall, well worth a try. Might come back when they change their menu.

I've been wanting to try this place ever since they placed in Asia's 50 Best Restos this year. What makes Metiz unique is that they use ingredients that are fermented and aged. We got Mestiza (whiskey sour), Pomelo Evangelista (gin pom), and draft beer as our drinks. They were very generous with the whisky/gin and the draft beer had a fruity aftertaste. It's an 8-course menu priced at P3,950. My favourite dishes were the cold soup (this had a mix of quash, dalandan, and tomato!), the potato cooked in chicken fat with a corn sauce, and the crab fried rice with pork. I found the desserts to be a bit too rich for my taste. The ambiance of the restaurant is cozy, perfect for dates. It might be hard to take photos tho because of the lighting. Overall, we loved the experience and found the dishes to be one of a kind 😊

Food was amazing. The chefs are very creative and it was just very well done. Also of note that they took my wife's seafood allergy very seriously and created alternate dishes for her that were just as good. Great place to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Service was just excellent. Again, their attention to detail was very good. Our server was really friendly and attentive. I have nothing but good things to say. Atmosphere was very nice. It was very conducive for having a nice dinner. It wasn't too loud so you can actually carry on a conversation well. Overall this place is a gem. 6 stars for me. We're sure to be back.

I understand how this is awarded one of Asia's best - they have quite a unique menu (though more on fermented flavors, which if you are not a fan of might be a...shock), great service, and cozy (but very dimly lit) interiors that made me us feel comfortable and not at all intimidated. Generally an enjoyable experience and was surprised that one highlight of our dinner was the drinks! :)

Food is great - a lovely balance of flavors and very interesting take on local cuisine. I do wish the lighting was a bit brighter in the area near the entrance during dinnertime so we can appreciate the colors and presentation of the food. Will probably come back when there's a new menu in store, and will try the cocktails next.

When I asked beforehand if they are open by 5 (for cocktails), I was told that they would be and we could order drinks beforehand. When I arrived shortly before 5:30, I was made to wait outdoors (not a proper waiting area) and was not offered any menu for drinks. Food is just alright, Toyo Eatery which is nearby has more value for money and overall better quality food

Metiz is a unique place, every dish was so thoughtfully presented and incredibly tasty. I was visiting the Philippines for the first time and this was a great lesson in the history of the food as well as how innovative cuisine can be. The service of the chefs presenting each of their dishes added a lot to our experience.

Wow! Gros coup de cΕ“ur, as the French say, what a great experience! The menu is not only delicious but also super interesting - local ingredients, unusual combinations of flavors, all beautifully plated. The mushroom broth is to die for and the dessert was the best I ever had (so weird yet so good)! An extra plus for the open kitchen that lets you watch the kitchen team prepare the plates! They also have a great cocktail line-up. If you only travel through (as most tourists do, unfortunately) and only have one night in the city (dito), go to Metiz!

Really great food. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening. They didn't have cocktails on that evening (which we were looking forward to) but the food was fantastic.

Great dining experience at Metiz. The menu is bold, locally sourced, well explained, inspiring, well balanced and full of taste sensations! I loved the kitchen set-up and the fermentation station. Booking in advance is needed.

Reserve ahead of time. Creative and decently priced. Hoping for menu options soon, they only have the 5 course meal at the moment. They don't go so far as to introduce polarizing taste profiles but still have the indigenous ingredients and cooking styles incorporated in the dishes. Aesthetic plating for sure, just wish they had something to rest your silverware on for hygienic purposes, it'll be on the table between dishes. Will inevitably be compared to Toyo nearby, I'd say it's not as bold but it's a safe bet for half the price of the tasting menu. If you don't want to have a "that was it/what was that" experience for over 3k a person, I'd go for this one.
