UST HOSPITAL IS FILLED WITH SCAMMERS DRESSED LIKE DOCTORS. BEWARE OF DRA. GRACE MACAPAGAL. BETTER YET, GO TO ANOTHER HOSPITAL. IN UST hospital it takes 24hours to get results of swab test. While waiting for swab test results, they charge 3-4k for first 4 hours. 500 per hour for succeeding hours while u wait in d ER area. Scam? Yes. In a provioncial hospital, it takes 1 hour to get results of swab test. Exact same swab test. UST says they outsource d swab test. A huge hospital like UST could not set up its own covid testing facility and they have to wait for results to be delivered. Wat happen to emailing results. There is a doctor there ( Dra. Inoncillo, psychiatry) who is afraid to talk to relatives of patient. While ur talking to her she slowly steps away from u. Kinda funny and not funny considering the ridiculous amount of money you pay to the hospotal. She shows lack of patience in answering questions of people worried about d patient. Dear Doctors, its ur duty to explain to us and the patient d kind of treatment patient is about to receive, wat kind of treatment/ medication and why. Not only bcoz ur paid to do so but bcoz its ur duty. There is also another doctor, Dra. Jocelyn Bautista, psychiatry, that when u consult with her , she keeps interrupting u while u talk and u can't get a word in. U wait in d lobby for some hours, she sees u for 5 mins, she charges 4k and u can't even get a word in. And her secretary is part of the scam. She wont answer any questions over d phone. U have to book an appointment for 1 question. And then wen u arrive and already booked, u ask a question and then d answer is negative and not.allowed. wud have been more beneficial if it was answered over d phone wen it was wat ur asking in d first place. However, not all doctors are d same..some are very good. I will share later.

Would not recommend it. My father was in hospital as a private patient for 3 weeks and come discharge planning time we were told that he cannot be discharged unless all the professional fees from the doctors and the hospital bills are paid. So we paid all the doctors and when the final hospital bill came we were short by only P65K out of the almost P1M bill they charged us and they said my father cannot go home unless it’s ALL paid, and that we cannot sign any promissory note or pay in installment, we have to pay in FULL. So mean and I think unethical for a hospital to keep a patient that’s ready to go home only because he couldn’t pay the hospital bill in full. That meant the patient (my dad) had to stay and pay the days that he remained in hospital while his family was stressed trying to find money to pay them in FULL. Pera pera lang USTH di ba?? No care for the patient at all. And my Dad got admitted with a pressure sore and not even once did the nurses check how it was going until it got worse and we had to complain. And they still didn’t do anything. The patient has to pay for every time you call the Nursing assistants to help clean or turn a patient. Apparently P80 every time, when patient turns are actually a BASIC NURSING CARE every where in the world. And the doctors, nurses and admins don’t advocate for the patient. Not once did I hear the doctors says I will talk to the nurses about the pressure sore or I will talk to the admins about your hospital bill - tell them to be a bit lenient because after all, we are in the middle of a pandemic. Nothing. no help at all. Mahirap ka na nga, lalo ka pa maghihirap. Only millionaires can afford to be in hospital in this country. For the rest, good luck na lang.

Not cool . My niece works at this hospital, she is sick right now, fever and headache. She’s required to a swab test and she has TO PAY! Wowwww! Unbelievable! She’s a frontliner, why can’t you cover for the swab and have her at it free??? Unacceptable truth, this policy for your own employees , medical personnel and nurses has to pay. So plain cruel! And yet I heard you don’t even pay well for all their services. Afterall, private and an expensive one at that. Heartless even for their own people , I wonder how they treat the patients more with No money .

I love my alma mater but the UST Hospital is so inefficient. Just to make a payment it is VERY slow. Wait time is about 2 hours to process all the stuff and counting. Granted Phil Care took a chunk of time but boy...antiquated systems and huge waste of time. Ugh... for the love of... improve the accounting system!

We sent our mother to UST hospital for her upper abdominal pain. But the interns and I don't know if those are real doctors or just practicing, focused on her lungs instead and insisted that she has pneumonia. they ignored her abdominal pain and look for other illnesses. My mother underwent series of lab tests that are very costly! we agreed to all those those lab tests hoping they will find out the cause and cure for her abdominal pain and pneumonia. weeks later, my mom's abdominal pain was just gone without being treated. By the way, most of the lab tests my mom underwent are not related to her abdominal pain. The lab tests they made us all do which are very very costly are as follows: whole abdomen ultrsound (they found nothing), cbc and platelet count, urinalysis, GERD, IGRA, blood culture, xray (twice), skin test, blood infusion, and others. Dr. Fernandez even wants my mom to undergo endoscopy and colonoscopy. she was scheduled before and fasting and cleansing was not easy for my 64 year old mom. Hirap na hirap syang lagukin yung 2 bottle ng castor oil and 3 dulcolax. then, her anesthesiologist suggested not to push through with endoscopy kasi risky raw dahil mababa oxygen level ng mommy ko. kpag pinatulog bka mahirapan huminga, ganun din kapg walang anesthesia, bka nmn daw ma choke. so after the unbearable 2 bottle ng castor oil and 3 dulcolax at pagdudumi ng moomy ko, ayun cancelled ang endoscopy. After several days pinilit n nmn nila ung endoscopy which is ok if after her blood culture result shows no result. But they insist on making her do it even before the blood culture result. Blood culture and IGRA is costly ha....23k. what's even more shocking is what Dr. Dimapilis told us while convincing us to do the endoscopy and colonoscopy, a slipped of the tongue, and I quote, "Kapag alam nilang may ilalabas kayong pera, ipapagawa nila lahat ng tests sa inyo". Amazing?! "YUng IGRA habang tumatagal mag nenegative yun" ha? how did u know? ano pa silbi ng IGRA test? my family and I are very dissatisfied with there service. Its really all for money.

Very bad service and poor medical management. I would NOT recommend UST to anyone especially to my loved ones. My grandmother was admitted for fracture s/p fall and developed shortness of breath and edema to her legs. We have been telling the medical interns and nurses about her shortness of breath and edema but they did nothing. We even had to suggest the referral to a Pulmonogist so she can be further assessed. The nurses even the medical interns NEVER did a body assessment and we even have to inform them of the concerns like the edema to her legs. Tests were done only to find out my grandma developed DVT/ blood clot in her legs which is VERY PREVENTABLE if only they did an admission DVT risk assessment and have provided DVT prophypaxis which is very common in acute hospitals. These incompetencies of the doctors and nurses led us to a prolonged unnecessary hospitalization and a waste of time and money.

My sister is like skin and bones already and currently weighs 26kg. she underwent series of tests since last year in UST and until now the real cause is unknown. One of her tests, related to kidneys, showed that she has kidney infection. The doctors were so focused in finding what really makes her thin with her hemoglobin very low that they did a lot of tests only to fail as of date. They ignored the infection they found in the kidney as they didn't even prescribed any medicine. We postponed for a while her further tests which were recommended by the doctors so my sister can rest for a while as she has been stressed from going back and forth to the hospital. Weeks after, my sister was rushed to our provincial hospital due to kidney malfunction, her legs and tummy got bloated. So dissappointed that it could have been avoided if the UST doctor at least attended to that area knowing that my sister has infection in the kidneys. Another series of tests will be done to my sister, but this time, in another hospital. Another thing that I noticed. i couldn't feel the dedication of the doctors Maybe because they have too much patients to deal with. You also have to make serious adjustments to their schedule. We felt so much urgency because of the seriousness of my sister's condition but only to deal with doctors who seemed to feel otherwise. I felt like i have to buy their dedication.

UST hospital remotely looks like our modern hospitals that feature huge lobbies, a systematic layout for laboratories and the admin offices. Possibly due to limitations in size in order to allocate spaces between the private and teaching hospital, the recent renovations has shown how some creative changes can still be made, while retaining the original features of the building. Most surprising would be the food/takeout counters at different spots within the hospital. Since the campus food court in the parking arcade are mostly closed, the hospital had to open up their own establishments within.

They strictly follow the health protocols imposed by the government. They also offer medical and consultation services. I think they also have the most of medical needs needed by a patient in a hospital. You just really need to be early for on your scheduled appointment because there might be long waiting lines if you don't. 😊

Emergency Room should really be efficient even during night time. A family member is suffering from an illness and has a history of asthma went for a checkup around 8pm, but was told to wait in queue behind 6 more patients. One patient's family member told them that it took them 4hrs just to get in. Don't expect patient to just book an appointment please, ERs should remain readily available hence the word emergency!!

There is no seating area at the emergency room. I cannot understand why there is a Php 35,000 deposit requirement before every admission and you cannot move to the room until 2 p.m. And when you don't use all that, you have to come back a week after to claim it. Do we all have the time? Why do you leave students to attend to the desks? The ER nurses insist you don't experience the symptoms you have, saying yours could be one for the books. What is that? Sad because UST is supposed to have the best doctors in the country. You wonder why they can't just up the standard on everything else.

San Martin Ward - Cons: Staff which includes Medical Interns/Residents etc... are very loud (chitchat and laughter) especially in the station. Our patient post surgery couldn’t sleep well. Even the sound of nurses using something (maybe mortar and pestle?) to crush their drugs can be heard in our room. Pros: The nurses and aides are helpful when you ask for a request. Members of the Medical Team were good. Security Guards are approachable when you need directions. Elevator Personnel are friendly.

I went around the premises several times. Outstandingly, very clean and peaceful. The people are very nice and friendly, staff, visitors, and patients alike. The places in the hospital are marked and the offices are strategically located. The Emergency Ward is very near the main entrance The accounting sections, billing, and Philhealth are very nearly located in the second floor. the Chapel, too, is in the second floor. The records section is in the third floor. The floors are very accessible using the elevators and the stairs.

Reviewing the psychiatric services; The services they offer are awful. There was a time I went there and after waiting in line for 5 hours when it was finally my turn; my mom was stressed, my mood turned for the worse. (which is quite frankly a bad thing since I have anxiety and depression and I was basically on the verge of having a panic attack) And here they are telling us that they couldn't find my records . (They did end up finding it a good 30 or so minutes later) If that isn't enough to give them 1 star, I actulIy heard some of the nurses make jokes about my last name!!. I was also extremely uncomfortable during our sessions. I understood that it was somewhat of an open space and there wouldn't be a hundred percent privacy doctor-patient kind of confidentiality that however did not mean that they (other nurses) had a right to just plain simply watch my session with my pysch like I was a monkey in a zoo. There's also the fact that they kept passing me around and made me feel like they didn't even have time for their patients, a good few sessions in and they HAVEN'T.MADE.ANY.PROGRESS more so than asking me what I had already written to be said verbally and poke at my wounds by making me repeat what I wrote again and again. They didn't even clearly explain the confidentiality statement to me (which had to be explained by my lovely school councelor who helped me more than UST could) More often than not I left the place in turmoil, mentally and emotionally disturbed, physically tired and just plain exhausted.

I paid 1k and kinda waiting for receipt, the assistant did not give me any for the fee and the meds. I know it is raining hard but you said you accept until 4:30 pm. I am done with check up and payment by 4:32 and still you gave me that attitude. I am already not feeling well and that treatment did worsen my feeling, if you don’t want or not anymore accepting patients, you could have stated it via phone call.

Avoid this hospital because they’re only after your money. Our baby was confined inside the NICU for a month and for the entire duration of her stay in UST she was fed with TPN which you can only buy in their pharmacy which costs a big amount. We asked different parents with the same condition as our baby, they said their babies were fed with breast milk from the very start and they did not need any TPN or supplement. We’re really devastated because we lost our baby after fighting for 1 month. Also, fathers are not allowed to go inside the NICU and see the baby. I saw my baby when she was already lifeless. Minimal mother-daughter connection because KMC (kangaroo mother care) was not done consistently and totally no father-daughter connection. There’s also no viewing window for fathers and relatives to see your baby. They let us in but it was already too late. Our baby’s gone. Moreover, since this is a hospital with a school, expect that many interns are going to be in and out of your rooms or wherever you are. These interns were also inside the NICU without proper PPEs like gown and hair/head cover. Resident doctors were being taught by nurses what to do. My wife experienced being used as example for the student/intern to see and was used as an experimental model wherein the intern can do hands-on training like doing an IE (internal examination) even though it’s already a month since she gave birth and a metal speculum was inserted in her private area twice - first was the doctor/resident, second was for the intern to do it and practice. Her main complaint that time was her edema in her lower extremities. On a good note, the nurses were very caring and good. We pray that no one would experience the trauma and ordeal that we are going through.

The hospital itself is clean and cozy. However, the hospital grounds are shared with the school and its concessionaires, making it somewhat difficult for infrequent hospital visitors to navigate from one medical building to another.

Very slow service especially the IM residents. Very inefficient residents. Will not recommend

Worst ER ever! 1.5 hours before we got an IV and not until I had to step in. My partner has to lose consciousness before a doctor showed up. 12 hours in and not yet admitted. In other hospitals we would have already gone home. What a waste of time, effort, and money. Do not come here if you care for your loved ones. 100% not coming back.
