BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE FOUNDATION The PGH Medical Foundation, Inc is a non-stock, non-profit organization which was conceived to assist the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) in achieving its noble mission of providing excellent health care for its indigent patients. It serves as a conduit of donations coming from various civic-minded individuals, corporations, foundation and other funding agencies. The Philippine General Hospital (PGH), the premier government hospital serves more than 500,000 patients annually, ninety eight percent (98%) of which are indigent. It is beset by its shortage of funds, as the subsidy it receives from the Government of the Philippines (GOP) and the earnings from its pay patient departments, incomes from the laboratory procedures and pharmacy sales are insufficient to underwrite all its essential services. The Foundation was organized in 1997 by the then PGH Director Antonio Montalban together with some concerned doctors of the hospital and prominent community leaders. However, it became fully operational only in 2003 when it has become a major partner of PGH. The foundation is a registered donee institution certified by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), thus allowing us to give certificates of donation entitling donors to tax credits. OBJECTIVES To achieve its objectives the Foundation conducts many projects at PGH, the more prominent of these are the following: Direct assistance to indigent patients for the procurement of medicines and supplies as well as laboratory procedures; Infrastructure renovation – the hospital being a century old, needs the updating/replacements and refurbishing of its facilities; Provision of equipment and materials i.e. linens, instruments, air conditioning units, etc. Assistance in relevant trainings and researches. Support of the volunteer program which provides assistance to patients in various out-patient clinics. SOURCES OF FUNDS In support of its various projects, the foundation is engaged in fund-raising activities, viz: Direct solicitations from philanthropic individuals, corporations and other foundations Organizing fund-raising events e.g. concerts, fashion shows, art auction & sports tournament Voluntary donations Coin bank in various business establishments. OFFICERS The Foundation has a fifteen member Board of Trustees which sets policies and oversees the Foundation’s operations. It has a President who is the Chief Executive Officer and an Executive Committee composed of twelve members that act as an advisory body to the President. It is certified by the Philippine Council for NGO Certification (PCNC) and is a BIR approved donee institution which allows it to issue tax credits to all its donors.

Good doctors and dentists - about 45 minutes drive from where I live during off hours, but worth the trip. Five stars if not for the parking challenge within the PGH campus.

Poor Coordination with the patients specially in the E.R, the guards and nurses are all not working well in the hospital , those who in need specially if you have a open scratch in your face or head that still bleeding you can't be treated , so i rated 2 star only because of overall experience Poor Coordination and The Guards are all not okay 🀬

One way is time consuming in looking for parking space when it is wide enough. Guards aren't that accomodating with directions.

My first time going to PGH. Accommodating my father to see his doctor for his check-up due to his sugar level. The place is really big and some areas are still under construction. More convenient if you have a service or private vehicle. Because if not you really have to walk super far for every department inside the PGH premises. That's the only downside going here as a patient.

Parking is full packed so we got the pay parking instead. This is the pay parking site I've seen full of garbage around and some areas are unsafe for car tires. I understand that they are under construction but it's not an excuse to still park at your own risk since you've paid. Not a very good experience :(

Mis information regarding some details for example the number of donors in the blood bank we went there as early as 4am because of limited numbers allocated and they started at 8am but to my surprise there are some accepted which they should because of the number of patients needed however we should be patience because of their work.

Most consultations are through telephone and social media at this times and they'll give you contact numbers when you need it.

Stepped on a nail and to err on the side of caution I decided to get a tetanus shot. Staff were polite and treated my within an hour which was great. Only downside was the 10 second consultation that cost my 1200php. No what I'd say was value for money and 700php for the shot

Why collect ID when we enter the building, you have no effective system when you return it back to us. We waited in line for 50mins, they are disorganized and allow paki suyo release ng card to select people.
