Curried Away - Juan Luna

Indian restaurant

🫤 I’ve ordered here twice this week via GrabFood to try different dishes. Here’s the lowdown: 1. ❌ Stay away from the chapatis and parottas. Both times, they arrived still very hot but they were poorly made and did not taste good. Very thick, rubbery and chewy instead of thin, crisp and flakey. Now... People often mention small, restaurant, good, Indian, beef, serving, price, indian,

I’ve ordered here twice this week via GrabFood to try different dishes. Here’s the lowdown: 1. ❌ Stay away from the chapatis and parottas. Both times, they arrived still very hot but they were poorly made and did not taste good. Very thick, rubbery and chewy instead of thin, crisp and flakey. Nowhere near authentic Indian unfortunately. 2. ❌ Chicken Butter Masala - Tastes okay, but the serving size is quite small. It is also swimming in (unhealthy) oil. But the most frustrating thing about this was the packaging. Either the owners don’t have common sense, or they are too cheap to care. They all put the main dishes such as this, overflowing in a small container instead of a larger one to account for space, so this was a HUGE MESS. 0/10 will never order again. 3. ✅ Vegetable and cheese samosas - this was the only saving grace in this restaurant. For the cheese variant, the cheese inside was very stingy, teeny tiny, and barely noticeable though, so better to get the vegetable variant instead so you don’t waste your money. 4. ❓ Lassi and chai tea - was pretty good but serving size is WAY too small for the price! Just buy frozen yogurt or milk tea outside and you’ll get more money’s worth. This place has potential but, has a LOOOONG way to go in terms of improvement.

Authentic indian food. Sulit serving size! Take-out packaging is very good, well insulated. Drinks tho are better off bought outside.

I ordered for one person, so solo dishes. The samosas were good. The daal was OK and was a full container. The paneer butter masala was terrible; only half a container and 4 small pieces of paneer - the rest was a bland cream sauce. Tiny portion and not enough for an adult meal. Same thing with raita - tiny, tiny portions. I've never seen an Indian restaurant this cheap with their portion sizes, especially raita which is so inexpensive to make. I called the restaurant and zero accountability or explanation why such a small amount of paneer butter masala was given and only 4 small pieces of paneer. I asked for the manager and they refused to give them the phone. I was told the manager would call me back but I did not receive a phone call. They charge a lot of money for small portions and mediocre quality. Disappointing food and customer service.

(Translated by Google) The crew was kind and the food was delicious. Try the Lassi drink, it looks like yogurt mixed with knuckles; creamy and delicious. The food is worth it. (Original) Mabait yung crew at masarap yung pagkain. Try nyo yung Lassi na drink, para syang yoghurt na may halong buko; creamy at malinamnam. Sulit yung food.

Authentic Indian cuisine. The downside is that the dining area is quite small. But overall good experience.

I haven’t been to the restaurant in person so I’m crossing fingers it is clean, but the packaging and the way the food is presented makes me think so. I’ve ordered from grab two times and I’m not disappointed at all. The food is spicy as it should be and cook it a really nice balance. The Chana masala was delicious; same with the boneless chicken and the chapati.

The ambiance and food taste also the utensils cannot justify the price of food here. The place is hot, The serving plate is not good. The taste is not that great. You can buy the same food quality from other resto at a lesser price.

The place might look weird in a lot of ways but the food they serve is as authentic and tasty as can be. I love the Samosa and Beef Biryani on their menu.

My sister ran into the owner of this place at the Dubai airport and he mentioned that he was from Kanyakumari and this restaurant served authentic Chettinad food from Tamil Nadu. I gave it a shot and ordered the classic chicken biryani and also a coconut beef fry( which is a dish from Kerala -not really a Chettinad dish). Now let's be honest-yes the flavour is somewhat there but does not pack a punch. A disappointment. But the quality of the produce is very very poor. The chicken biryani came with a chicken piece that had more bone than meat. Ridiculous. So I basically just got a lot of biryani rice. The beef dish barely had any beef -it was all beef fat so I could eat only 1/4 of it and throw the rest. Not edible. The quantity is another story. For the price, it is so poor that any regular restaurant owner from Tamil Nadu would be embarrassed. Restaurants in bgc have better quantity for that price. This was my last hope for some decent Chettinad food but alas it was an epic fail. Will not order from here again and would not recommend this place. Manila is not the place for Indian food. Period.

Might rate 4 less star bacause of the service but the rest of the stars are for good food. Cheese samosa are super yummy and beef biryani ok din but the amount of beef is just small and no effort on presentation.
