👍 I rated this high for their attentive service. Food was okay, be aware pictures on the menu are deceiving. Most dishes we ordered were sweet. People often mention ordered, good, service, soup, table, served,

Ate at their BGC restaurant Quick service for the food We didn't use much of the iPad due to the busy hour and called a waiter first we see instead of having to wait long to ask for utensils or water. Food was hot and sweet. We also made a mistake in a order instead of clams we asked for udon with the set and they allowed it. The staffs are also polite and professional.

The set meals are super sulit — quality fresh ingredients and very filling. I had chicken karaage meal set - includes side salad and soup. Servers were so attentive and nice. I also ordered California roll, which is a bit bigger than usual sushis (to be gobbled in two bites!). Service is fast, but place can get busy during meal times.

It was our first time visiting the place, and we left happy and full. At 6 pm, the place is already crowded, but we don't need to wait in line. We were sitted on a table for two with a built-in tablet for ordering. They ask first if we are familiar with how to order, and since we're not, they explain the process well. Not all tables are with this tablet, so I think they've just utilized some of the space and added some tables. This makes the place feel packed. Not recommended if you'll dine here to talk as your conversations will be heard by the next table. But there are couch seats that are more private, so you may opt to be seated there. After ordering, you can monitor your order on the tablet with a cute animation if they're still preparing the dish or if it will now be served. The food arrives quickly. We ordered their set meal, and it was a good serving! I've been to other Japanse restaurants before, but I was still surprised on the serving size. Even the miso soup is not served on a small bowl. I ordered their Ebi Tempura, and it's delicious with a perfect size shrimp. Their rice is perfect for chopstick. We were so full that we could no longer order dessert. What we don't appreciate is just when my husband put down his chopstick, a server asks if he's done so she could pick up his tray. It makes us feel that they're eager to make us leave quickly. Overall, it was a great experience. The price is reasonable and their food is delicious. Still looking forward to be back.

Chicken Namba and sushi were great. A bit pricey due to recent upgrade in prices. Nothing special

Went for 2nd visit, food didn't disappoint. Would stay away from sitting next to kitchen, a little too close for comfort. Came at tail end of lunch rush so entrees took a little longer to get. One of our newest spot to frequent!

We were absolutely starving, so we decided on Yayoi, which is tried and true comfort food. 7pm and it was quite busy; however, we were still accommodated. If you have a larger group, it may pay to come earlier or check if they accept reservations. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The food preparation was as quick as expected. We were so pleased with the food quality and portions. We left with happy tummies.

The place is clean and has a homey vibes to it, so you are sure to feel relaxed while eating. Tje foods are great and staffs are accommodating. What I don't like about it is the service charge, it is too pricey for me, considering there's an electronic way to place orders, the staffs don't have much more to do but to serve the food. But I will be considering going here again and will always recommend this place.

TLDR : if your nose follows you here. It is not wrong. My chosen dish delivers to the Nth Degree of flavour and deliciousness. My only regret is not getting the "house spiced" which would elevated my first experience. I came in on a near empty middle of the week afternoon. Food arrived in a timely manner. The place does not smell of used oil or deeply fried foods, welcoming aroma. The staff are friendly, kind, and do not stare at you allowing you to enjoy privacy. The Tori mix toji teishoku was served in a sizzling bow. I do recommend putting the rice in the hot bowl instead of another bowl provided so it soaks all that sauce. I will have to come back to try everything else (small stomach). The tray that was served with the food was aesthetically nice and not fast food like. Nth degree of @ deliciousness 👍.

Food was amazing, but their customer service is disappointing. Their staff were discriminatory and rude. The lady (in the entrance) who was tasked to do table assignments should undergo training if she hasn’t yet. When we got in, there weren’t many customers anymore. However, their staff were not attentive to our requests and we had to make several follow-ups before our orders were given to us.

I like the taste of their own miso sauce for Miso Katsu Teishoku, however the katsu is overcooked and tough to chew. Miso is a little bit on the sour side, but it is not really a big deal, still finished it because it's my favourite. The staff is nice and very accomodating.

We had lunch at Yayoi after Christmas. Nice cozy japanese resto in BGC. They observed social distancing. We were seated a seat apart as per protocol and they had plastic dividers. Food was great. Place was decent and service was good. Some of the food we ordered. I was not able to take a picture of all the food because we were in separate tables and we were hungry🤣👍🌟

Everything that we ordered was worth it. 1* for the atmosphere because I feel the place was too crowded. The tables were really close to each other.

Yayoi is a Japanese restaurant famous for its teishoku-style meals, based on Japan’s time-honored principle of meals consisting of one soup dish, one main dish and two side dishes. I ordered the Mix Toji Set, which is a combination of Tonkatsu, fried shrimp and Sukiyaki beef simmered in Yayoi’s house special sauce and egg served with Japanese rice and seasonal sides. Serving size is generous. The food definitely tastes great and is very filling albeit quite pricey but I guess that's what you get for having high-quality ingredients. I especially liked the miso soup.

This is a new favorite place. The izakaya has generous serving, food taste is v good. The electronic ordering system makes yoi feel you're in Jp. Matcha and red bean dessert is also good

If you're looking for a traditional no-frills Japanese restaurant akin to that of your childhood days, then this is the place for you. The food is quality👌🏻 I ordered the Miso Katsu Teishoku and it came piping hot and cooked to a perfect crisp. The sides that came were also good especially the Miso soup. The service is impeccable. The servers were so antentive that I didn't have to request for water or cold tea. Overall, it's a yay for Yayoi 🍱

They offer a lot of options for set meals which is recommended when ordering per person in a group. Their katsu tori set was filling, hefty serving for 1. Note that unlike other katsu places, they do not offer refills on sides. I enjoyed the potato salad! The katsu was good but I would still prefer Maisen or Saboten. (Maisen was full so we ended up here) Rolls were ok also but I've tasted better from other japanese places. The only thing that makes me think twice (thrice?? Maybe) from eating here again is their "rule" that they cannot let you in and get seated if less than half of your party is literally standing outside their door. They told me that yes your table is assigned to you, won't be given away to another party, but you just cannot go in yet. I said my peers were on the way, literally walking from just outside the building. They said no cannot. I thought they wanted to make sure we'll really order for all the headcount I asked a table for so I said I can place the orders already for all our headcount now so may I pls go in and get seated? They said no still. 🤷🏻‍♀️ At that point, I failed to see the logic of the "rule" 🤷🏻‍♀️. It's okay if they're able to share why it is so but I was just told "we cannot, it's really like that" ("di pwede, ganun talaga e") 🤷🏻‍♀️

Food tastes delicious, portioning looks many because of the numerous bowls in the plate (teishoku sets) but pricey. We waited for 40 minutes for our food. What a disaster. It seemed like they did not punch our orders since the table next to us got their orders first even though we arrived first. No complementary food or anything to compensate for the waiting time. Atmosphere is okay.

😐 So little options, I don't see anything special about this, Niu, thing. I believe there should be more food options because of the empty stations. That made the vibe feel cheap. I feel like it's not worth the money spent, if there will be empty stations I recommend lowering down the price or just do...
