I am an old fashioned gal who loves the craftsmanship of the past. Wooden floor from the second floor and up with interesting framed photos along the hallway. The room that we had, had 2 tables (1 side, and 1 vanity); a 1990's television with cable tv connection; a wooden table where you can hung clothes; a huge built in with multiple hangers; an ACU and a vintage ceiling fan. Just right for an overnight or long term stay in Malate. Reasonable price too. :)

Upon checking in the lady at the front desk was unfriendly. There were no complimentary toiletries included, except for a single soap, unlike other budget hotels I've stayed at. The rooms are clean but it smells musty. There are also tiny roaches. Overall, it was not awful, but also not a pleasant stay. It's good for a night. The internet wasn't fast and there was little to no cellular signal inside our room.

Liked our stay,we just don't like that receptionist had no idea on our arrival even after showing our confirmed booking, and it's a bit rude that they keep stuffing their mouth with food while talking to us.

Great place to stay. I originally stayed there thirty-two years ago, and it has not changed much. It's my go-to place to stay when l'm in Manila!

We were here in 2017 and 2018 in the hotel, it is relatively cheap compared to the other hotels in Manila, we even got the same room as in 2017 (coincidence), the room is quite large, the entire hotel is antique Furnished with a lot of old beautiful wooden furniture, a lot of old wooden furniture and old paintings from bygone days, corresponding to the Spanish times at that time, the room and bathroom was quite large and tidy, but the bathroom had a slight problem with cockroaches, one was almost as big as my palm, but they were gone very quickly when I entered the bathroom, the ceiling fan almost burned out overnight if I hadn't turned it off, there was clearly a lack of oil in the mechanism for rotation, the bed is very big and cosy, a bible was placed in the desk, for people who need to pray to get through the night maybe helpful, the staff and those standing in the hotel entrance e guard were very friendly and courteous, generally very comfortable with a quiet front yard, antique and adventurous, best regards from Germany Lindau Bodensee

Not the best but okay with the price point around the area. Got ours at approx. 1300 Pros - receptionist was nice - clean room - budget friendly - hot and cold shower - accessible Cons - the room is different from what we expected - air conditioner is too old, we need to turn on the ceiling fan too to make it cold - toiletry: single soap, no toothbrush - though we are on the top most floor, there is too much noise from the bars outside Extra Interior is old-fashioned. as in old, not modern made to look old. if old mirrors and old wardrobes creep you out, this is a no no for you

Approachable staff. Room is good with hot shower. Aircon is cold. But room and other amenities (towel, floor math, shampoo, etc) needs to improve

For the price, it’s WAY worth it. One of the best budget style hotels I’ve stayed. As of March 2018, rooms with AC averaged $25 per night. If you really want to save, they have a fan room for $17. The hotel is very nice, the staff was friendly, & walking distance to many attractions. There’s a relaxing courtyard, & coffee bean in the front. The inside of the hotel is very unique, with lots of dark wood, & old school charm, but clean & not grudging. The room is decent size, AC unit was aged, but worked great. The bed was comfortable, & the WiFi worked great. I stayed on the 4th floor, if your wanting my experience, that is the floor you should request.

A nice stay. Although closed breakfast 20 minutes earlier than advertised so we had to go elsewhere. Very cheerful and helpful security guard

Photos they are showing on their page in Agoda isn't what it is in real life. Room we were given was crawling with cockroaches and the aircon? Can't even begin to describe it! So old and loud, like a ship is about to dock and it don't even gets cold!

I stayed here in 1984 and it was amazing, so glad to see it is still running.

Decent location. Really good for the price! Room was cute and quaint with a small little TV and table and a comfy large bed. Wifi barely reached my room which was annoying but oh well. Bathrooms were shared, 1 shower and a few stalls, but clean and I never saw anyone else at the same time the whole 3 days I stayed. I did see one cockroach run through a corridor but I wasn't bothered and never saw any in my actual room. There's a really nice cafe downstairs too which was perfect for coffee and a pasty in the morning!

It's a decent hotel but it's not the kind of place where I would probably bring my family in, some rooms has mediocre air conditioning, the bathroom in the rooms has no refreshing vibe, it's the kind of hotel that i would probably check in just to pass the night

The place has a charming appeal with it's old quaintness but it smells musty inside - the room I'm staying in quite spacious and homey. Not as clean as I would have liked. They advertise free wifi but it doesn't reach the room I was staying in at the 3rd floor, so I had to work from the lobby. Staff was unhelpful with my requests to transfer to a new room and argued about wifi availability. I stayed because I pre-paid online and it was non-refundable. Location is great and a lot of things are accessible like restaurants, coffee shops, public transport, etc. All in all, I would recommend you invest a bit more in other hotels with better accommodations.

A simple place to stay. But first things first, bring roach killer!! I didn't bother to count how many I killed after I sprayed my room, I didn't dare sleep the first night without doing so. The cleanliness of the room was ok, could've been much better! The history of the place is pretty amazing and the rich use of narra wood was beautiful! I upgraded after arrival to an air conditioned room and was glad I did. I didn't bother to watch any tv or use the phone so no comment on those. I liked how close it is to several parks and sightseeing locations. A mall is very close and there are plenty of delicious places to eat all around the hotel.

Quaint place nicely ensconced in vibrant, entertaining Malate. My happy place away from home. When in Malate or somewhere nearby, stay here. Not too pricey. Just about right for the comforts offered.

No aircon. No floor mats in the restroom. Only one bath towel. No hand towels. No room safe. No blanket, and the bed is hard. Airport transfer costs triple what a Grab Car does. Older hardwood charm. No frills at all. Not even soap...

Good location, clean rooms, attentive personnel. They also provide safe and fair priced transfer to the airport.
