SuperDontCare
is
not
recommended
for
an
OFW.
I
accompanied
an
OFW
for
her
medical
clearance
requirements
by
POEA.
Their
superior
is
unnecessarily
strict,
and
doesn't
care
at
all
despite
explaining
to
them
that
the
flight
is
only
less
than
a
week
remaining
(long
story
made
short,
agency
asked
us
to
take
this
medical
test
on
Friday,
5
days
before
flight).
Vision
test
-
They
forced
us
to
either
upgrade
the
glasses,
or
get
clearance
from
ophthalmologist.
We
explained
that
the
glasses
given
to
her
was
the
correct
one
for
her
condition,
but
their
superior
doesn't
care,
and
insists
it
should
be
upgraded
or
get
clearance
from
ophthal.
We
tried
buying
glasses
just
to
get
done
with
this
as
we
have
limited
time,
but
we
ended
up
getting
the
clearance
from
ophthalmologist
from
Makati
Med
(despite
pandemic
and
risks
of
further
covid
exposure)
to
prove
the
superior
wrong.
We
were
stressed
that
this
delay
could
risk
missing
the
OFW's
flight,
expiring
work
visa,
career
abroad
and
her
future
(just
because
of
glasses/ophthalmologist
checkup
that
she
could
happily
do
abroad)
In
our
case,
nobody
cares
about
these
medical
test
results,
not
the
employer
nor
the
destination
country
nor
us.
Because
she's
been
hired
several
months
ago
and
just
waiting
for
her
to
fly
to
the
employer's
country
to
start
work.
We
only
do
this
for
some
Philippine
law
compliance.
Being
strict
should
be
a
good
thing
only
if
applied
on
the
right
scenarios.
Maybe
vision
test
should
be
strict
if
OFW
is
a
pilot
that
requires
perfect
vision,
but
it
is
not
required
for
the
OFW
I
accompanied.
On
the
good
side
though,
they
expedited
encoding
the
medical
clearance
for
the
OFW
to
catch
her
flight,
which
we
appreciated.
The
nurse
also
had
good
pleasing
personality,
but
she
is
powerless
since
she
just
needs
to
follow
the
strictness
of
her
superior.
Hence
the
2
stars.
I
just
hope
these
laws
about
medical
tests
get
reviewed,
maybe
only
stop
an
OFW
if
some
critical
health
condition
was
detected
that
risks
death
abroad.
Don't
destroy
the
future
of
an
OFW
just
because
they
need
to
upgrade
glasses
here.
We
are
happy
to
be
compliant
in
laws,
but
I
just
hope
they
remain
reasonable.
