Very beautiful inside. I suggest the view from the "El miguelete" tower: you'll see all the city of Valencia! ⚠️ PAY ATTENTION: there are 204 steps in a spiral stairs! The cost is 8€ for the cathedral and 2€ for the tower.

Right in the heart of the old city centre, this cathedral is absolutely beautiful. It costs to enter, but it's worth it. You get an audio device as part of the entrance fee. There are chapels surrounding the main altar piece that are worth exploring. My absolute favourite is the magnificent and highly decorative baroque altar. Staff are very friendly and I highly recommend visiting.

The Holy Grail is here! Believe it or not, you should visit the cathedral. The cathedral, La Seu in Catalan, is situated between two squares. It is built in Gothic style with Roman elements and other. For me, each cathedral is always one of the main sightseeing points. Because it is the history of the city. You can also visit the bell tower and enjoy the view of the city.

we climbed the tower (207 steps, would not recommend the elderly or inactive) before visiting the church and the 360deg view was worth it! the church itself also exhibited a very interesting concept of mixture in architecture styles.. and one can see the holy chalice here. audioguide also enhanced the whole experience, worth a visit!

The most beautiful cathedral in Valencia! It’s such a precious place to visit and I believe it’s a must visit place for all tourists and visitors. Every angle of this cathedral is photogenic and it’s full of holy paintings and adornments that are worth the visit. The entry fee is €8 which is totally worth it as you can spend hours in there. It’s also quite close from the central station so you can walk there. Also there’s a mini museum inside so go have a visit.

Fantastic museum! I actually wasn’t keen on going, if you’ve seen one gothic cathedral you’ve seen them all etc, but really liked the museum in this one. And having the audio guide included in the standard ticket price is a bonus. Top tip, bring headphones and you can plug them into the audio guide unit, otherwise you have to hold it to your ear.

Entry is 8 euros. A very nice looking cathedral with a small museum inside. There is an audioguide available in multiple languages which you can find by scanning a QR code - so don't forget to bring a pair of headphones!

Spectacular architecture, various points of interest and rich with relics. You pay some entrance fee but get a very skillfully made audioguide and are allowed to take photos

During my recent trip to Valencia, I had the opportunity to visit the iconic Valencia Cathedral. While the cathedral itself was undoubtedly interesting and impressive, the €9 admission fee seemed somewhat steep, especially since the building wasn't significantly more remarkable than other cathedrals or churches I've visited. As a non-religious person, I was still captivated by the stunning frescoes, intricate icons, and majestic statues throughout the cathedral. The architecture and historical context were noteworthy, adding depth to the overall experience. My main interest, however, was the 'Holy Grail,' believed to be the cup from which Jesus drank. Unfortunately, the artifact was tucked away in a small, dimly lit room and displayed in a dark case, making it difficult to see clearly. The room was under renovation, which made it challenging to appreciate the artifact in a serene setting. Furthermore, there was a lack of information or indication about the Holy Grail's significance, aside from a lengthy audio tour that included unnecessary chanting. In summary, the Valencia Cathedral is an interesting place to visit with its impressive architectural and historical elements. However, my expectations regarding the Holy Grail were not entirely met, and the €9 fee seems excessive for visiting what I perceive to be a public church. If you're in Valencia, it's worth a visit, but be prepared for the admission price and potentially underwhelming display of the Holy Grail.

Mainly interested to see the Holy Grail - the Holy Chalice that Jesus used to serve wine in the last supper. Very important relic for Catholics and I had to visit it if I am in Valencia. Beautiful church and functions more as a museum although the chapel where the Holy Chalice is seems to be used for baptism. (It was being prepared for Baptism when I visited.) As usual with Catholic churches of the olden days, it is very grand and opulent. There are a lot of beautiful paintings to look at. You can admire the architecture too. There is an actual museum to which I only visited the first floor of. There is a very handy audio. You key in a particular code and it will talk about a certain chapel, painting or a relic. It was busy but it wasn't that busy that you can need to book a ticket. We visited mid-late January.

Valencia in general is one of my favorite cities in Spain. Lovely city, nice people, good food and, all in place I would say. Cathedral is nice even though it is open just up to 18:30 so if you go, as we did, during the summer... it can be were hot outside(38 degrees in our case). The tower has 200+ very high stairs and entrance is 2€ per person. If you are not in good shape don't go upstairs it is not easy job even for kids. :)

The Cathedral is truly magnificent and houses several items with a great historical significance. I enjoyed Goya's paintings as well as other artists' works. The architecture is also amazing. I'm not happy about having to pay entrance fees for churches, a house of God should be accessible for everyone. At least the audio guide and the museum are included. We had the entrance fee covered by our 7 day Valencia Tourist Card.

Our wanderings in Spain began in Valencia. One of the first sights we visited was Stolnica, as it offers a lot of wonders and is certainly one of the most beautiful sights of the city.

Beautiful cathedral. Make sure to use the audio guide. I saw no benefit to buying tickets ahead of time, so give that a miss. Don't forget to climb the Miguelete tower on your way out, but only if you're able. It's 270 very steep steps but only 2 Euro for some very good views

Such a beautiful church, full of history and impressive religious art. The facade is impressive as well as the inside of the Cathedral. It features beautiful Gothic style designs as well as impressive religious pieces, stained glass and much more. We were lucky to attend mass at the Cathedral on Christmas day and we loved the community as well. Such a great place to visit. The Holy Grail chapel was closed at the time of our visit, but I hear it's beautiful as well.

This Roman Catholic church was built over a mosque in a predominantly gothic design. We had no time to visit inside but I do admire the building’s multiple architectural elements. The doors are intricately beautiful.

Very beautiful place. We spend there around 2 hours as there are some additional zones with exhibitions around main part church. Inside and for an advanced price like 2-4 euro you can visit the tower. It's 240 stairs there.

I love religious and spiritual buildings as well as Gothic architecture. So a Gothic Cathedral from the mid-13th century I had to see. The rich history and interesting baroque & neoclassical refurbishments from the 17th and 18th century gives this weird almost clashing mix between the styles

It's the most famous Cathedral in Valencia. The audio cuide is included in the price. You will see several works of El Greco. And the Main relic is The Holy Grail. They have proof it's an original one! The original part is only the upper part of the bowl but it's worth to see and to become a part of this history. At the same time you can visit a gallery with an ancient icons and you can go downstairs to see the remnants of the Old city. Also You Will see the right hand of San Vicente Martir (Martyr) in the Main Church. San Vicente is venerated by The Catholic Church, The Orthodox Church and The Anglican Church. Just visit it to see it by yourself! It's worth it!

Gorgeous cathedral with lots to see inside. Budget at least an hour if not longer. It's not only the church (which hosts the holy grail and the arm of the patron Saint of Valencia) but there is also a museum attached to the side. Be sure to check out the upper floor that has lots of artwork and artifacts. Clean bathrooms available on the 1st floor. If short on time, I would suggest the Valencia Cathedral over Saint Nicolas.

Well worth paying the cost of entry - €9 for the Cathedral and/or €2.50 to climb the steep stairs up to the Cathedral Tower and enjoy fantastic views out over the City of Valencia.

You have to visit the cathedral if you're in the city. It's a bit pricey, and to go up the tower, they charge a supplement; but if the cost goes towards the upkeep of the building, fair enough. They do include an audio tour, which is surprisingly good, and there's a great museum inside that has superb displays and access to the catacombs.

Really huge cathedral! There's an audio guide available, and I believe you'll need it to fully explore this wonderful church! We paid around 10 euros per person, but I've read that you can visit for free after 6 PM

Absolutely splendid medieval cathedral with significant 18th-century renovations. The prerecorded handheld tour guide was just right in terms of length and detail. There is a super museum accessed from within the Cathedral with amazing artefacts. The Cathedral itself has at least one painting by Goya. And if you like relics, this is definitely your kind of place!

Love myself a cathedral and Valencias is worth seeing if you do to. Go for the free audio guide when you get your ticket at the front. Takes you round the main church first, then the museum, and then into the side chapel with ‘The Holy Grail’

  • 4/5 Ollie L. 9 months ago on Google
The experience was made enjoyable through the useful audio guides and for €9 it was definitely worth it. Lots of other things to see not just the Holy Grail, which was impressive in itself.

Another great example of the church's wealth & power continuing into the 21st century in Europe. A good few interesting pieces, rooms & art. If you're spending a few days in Valencia, this is not a bad place to kill a few hours.

Lovely cathedral to walk around, and a great audio guide. Really interesting architecture, with a contradiction of styles - Gothic, Baroque, Neo-classical etc. So much to look at and take in. A bit pricey at €9 for one person but worth it if you take your time and listen to the audio. Definitely worth doing if in the city centre!

Beautiful ancient cathedral in the heart of Valencia. Next to the Kings Square and mcdonalds where old meets the new. This cathedral is perfect for the tourists and locals alike. Only 9 euros to get in and see the all the paintings, statues and god. It is also a quiet place to reflect on one's thoughts and life. A great place to think, meditate and relax after seeing all the modern parts of Valencia. It also occupies a massive apace so plenty to see and look around in.

Great place. Must visit. Ancient cathedral from the Roman times. Interesting museum and Holly Graal inside.

  • 5/5 Dalitso M. 6 months ago on Google
Unreal. Really interesting and get an audioguide included which is helpful. 20% discount available if you have the valencia card. Note that if you are planning on going up the tower, there's no lift and it's over 200 steps to get up and down so it's a physical effort. Also you might have to wait in a queue to go up (it's not a simple case of 1 up 1 down), and once you're up you have to wait about 10 minutes before you can come down again

It's a lovely Catherdral located in a lively old part of town. The interior is beautiful without too much over-the-top decoration and the worthwhile audio guide is excellent. There is a small archeological did accessable beneath. This cathedral actually claims to have the Holy Grail on display. Indy & Dan Brown missed this.

Valencia Cathedral is a cultural gem that seamlessly weaves history, art, and a touch of mystique into its majestic fabric. Nestled in the heart of the city, this cathedral is not just a religious site but a captivating experience for anyone with an appreciation for architectural marvels. The claim that Valencia Cathedral houses the Holy Grail adds an extra layer of intrigue to the visit. While the authenticity of this assertion may be debated, the mere thought of standing in a place that has sparked centuries of speculation adds a unique aura to the overall experience. The cathedral itself is a testament to exquisite craftsmanship and architectural prowess. Ornate details adorn every corner, from the intricate carvings to the awe-inspiring stained glass windows. The grandeur of the interior is matched only by the solemnity of the atmosphere, creating a perfect balance for reflection and admiration.

I was raised a southern Baptist, and was part of many christian places of worship. I went to the Valencia Cathedral because I heard the Holy Chalice was kept there; I didn’t realize all the history and beautiful displays of Christ that were waiting to blow my mind. If you ever doubt your faith, come to Valencia Cathedral for a dose of reality.

  • 5/5 Milana R. 2 years ago on Google
There is also an observatory on the high bell tower. The cathedral was built on the site of an old mosque which, according to legend, was erected on the site of the ancient Roman temple of the goddess. All the doors of the cathedral are made in three different styles: Baroque, Romanesque and Gothic. Here you can also see the Holy Grail, officially recognized by the Vatican. 🏆

It's okay. The old town more generally is okay nothing exceptional. Its like most other old towns in Europe. The area around the cathedral is a typical tourist trap. If you really want to enjoy what Valencia has to offer then you have to go to the arts and science district. That place is truly unique and makes your visit to Valencia special.

Rich and splendid. Some real marbles in there like the two original Goya paintings. Otherwise though lots of the paintings have bery bright, strong colours, which is not really my fancy. But that is merely a matter of taste. Definitely a must see when in town

A bit too much for €8. The tower is €2 more which is not advertised. The grail is behind shiny glass. It cannot be seen well or photographed well. Cannot get close enough to examine. Staff are nice and helpful.

Nice building with much history and many details. Didn't visit the inside cause it was closed. Plaça de la Verge was also nice with many restaurants and cafe. One thing that was not cool was the smell of sewage or something like that. I don't know the reason but hope it was just for the moment and not a permanent problem.

Beautiful cathedral, but we showed up too late for entry, so we only got view it from the outside. Entry appears to be €9, which might deter some, but the plaza around the cathedral is also quite interesting with lots of little shops.

Most people are surprised to realize that The Holly Grail is kept at the Valencia Cathedral. Really, not kidding. Recognized by the Catholic Church, and with a solid historical pedigree to 1st century Rome. It's on a small chapel to the right of the main entrance. Definitely worth a visit.

Valencia Cathedral  was built in the 13th and 14th centuries and is a special mix of architectural styles- Romanesque style, Baroque and Gothic. In the cathedral you will see many works of art, including those by Francisco Goya. However most famous object is the Holy Grail which have been the stone cup of Jesus during the Last Supper. The cup has been in Valencia since the 15th century and makes this Cathedral one of the most popular sights in Valencia. There is also a mummified hand of Saint Vincent of Saragossa. Entrance 8 eur, additional 2 for tower.

Another amazing historical building in the lovely city of Valencia. Wonderful architecture to see with some different styles as well. And to crown it the claim that the original "Holy Grail" resides there. Worth having the audio description device when going round.

A beautiful melange of a church: Romanesque, gothic, baroque, renaissance, classicist. According to legend, is the only church in possession of the grail. It’s one of the most important stops and a must see if you are into history and architecture. We spent ca. 2 hours.

  • 5/5 Courtney K. 2 years ago on Google
Went for the bell tower, but ended up staying for over an hour because of the museum in the cathedral. It is a separate entrance than the bell tower and requires a separate ticket, but is well worth it. Not only is the main part of the cathedral beautiful, but the museum is very interesting and actually takes you UNDER the church to an excavated area… which includes a small graveyard. Non-fluent Spanish speakers- everything here is in espanol, so I recommend downloading Google translate (and downloading the offline option, otherwise you won’t get the really interesting info from the sites under the church!).

  • 5/5 A H. 1 year ago on Google
WOW! We first thought it was silly charging to enter a cathedral (as there are many beautiful churches for free) but this was definitely worth it (for a family of five we paid 18Euros with the family pack discount!). The exhibits and museums are very interesting and the downstairs archeological site is not to miss. The story of the mummified arm of St Vincent is fascinating as is the Holly Grail. Which is beautiful and made us sit and reflect for a while. Definitely worth visiting!

The Valencia Cathedral is a must-visit. The cathedral is incredibly beautiful, with a lot to see. A general ticket includes audio guide, and access to the Cathedral’s museum. This was my favorite tourist attraction!

Truly classic 13th century cathedral in the hear of Valencia. We were able to attend mass here on Palm Sunday a few years back. Now, during the week, they charge a reasonable €8 entry fee. It’s a huge structure that exemplifies the best of the architecture of the times. Rumor has it that in a chapel here there is a chalice that many believe to be the Holy Grail.
