Had a great time at the Golden Frog Hostal. It's super central in the city, and has a ton of communal space. You can choose between the private rooms (more quiet), or the dorms (facing the street, with more natural light), and great breakfast is included. All of the staff was super friendly, and Álvaro, one of the owners, knows the Manizales+Surroundings very well. No matter what activity you are looking for, he can help you make it happen - or recommend something even better :)

All round fantastic. Superb staff, very clean, located in the middle of town - access all areas - and spacious. Also, delicious breakfast, unlimited tea and coffee, great hot showers, a roof terrance with a view and loads of sofas to chill out on. Definitely recommended.

One of the best hostels I have been. The hostel is super cute and comfy. it is one of these where you can just chill around an afternoon. The kitchen has all the equipment to cook, some spices and is to all of the times clean, like all of the hostel. Also the service is super kind and welcoming. The reason why I stayed for while in the hostel is for sure the breakfast though. Absolutly fantastic. As you can tell, couldn't have wished for more. I can defenitly only recommend this hostel.

The most popular hostel in manizales city with foreign backpackers. Carlos is an incredible host. Super clean. Dorms face the street, so book a private room if traffic noise disturbs your sleep. Great tour booking service, highly recommend Armadillo tours for los nevados national park. WiFi was intermittent in my 4 nights there, but was fast enough for video calls when it was working.

Great stay in Manizales! Carlos is super welcoming and the dorms are comfortable with private bathrooms. Highly recommend going on Carlos' tour to the mountains!

This is the best place to stay at Manizales!! Staff is super friendly; they make you feel at home, and are very helpful for figuring out what to do around the city. It's the perfect place to relax, watch a movie, play board games, or talk to other guests after a day of exploring Manizales and its surroundings. Food is delicious! And adds to that sense of feeling at home. Rooms (and bathrooms) are big, clean and comfortable. Love the murals and art all around the place :)

I had an amazing time at the Golden Frog Hostel! This was by far one of the best hostels I’ve stayed at over the past 3 months in Colombia. In regard to the hostel itself, the facilities were very nice with comfortable rooms, plenty of space to relax (game room, TV room) and probably the best breakfast I’ve been offered at any hostel. The best part, however, was definitely the staff. Everyone working there was extremely friendly and went out of their way to make sure my experience in Manizales was great. Carlos, especially, was incredibly fun and charismatic, and his passion for Manizales really shows. He truly treats his guests as friends or family rather than customers. The hostel also organizes trips to Nevado de Ruiz - I thought it was a really awesome experience. If you’re coming to Manizales, this is DEFINITELY the place to stay!

I love this hostel! It is abundantly clear that the staff love it too. It's clean, there are so many common areas and they are all awesome. Places to work. A movie room. A terrace. Best of all, there is HOT water in the shower! They run their own tours. I took a tour to Nevado del Ruiz and the whole day was just spectacular. The guide was one of the hostel staff, he took us all around the volcano in 4x4. We saw huge waterfalls, stunning landscapes and visited a secluded natural hot spring. The guide was very friendly and deeply knowledgeable about the unique flora and fauna of the park. Don't hesitate to stay at this hostel, you won't regret it.
