When
I
was
little
my
dad
&
I
would
go
fishing
from
the
bank
of
the
river,
I
caught
an
8
pound
northern
when
I
was
8
years
old,
so
that
in
itself
was
very
memorable
to
me.
We
found
old
bottles
along
the
shore
&
even
saw
soft
shell
turtles.
It
was
always
a
very
special
place.
My
dad
passed
away
suddenly
on
May
10th,
2022.
I
was
devastated
but
I
made
the
decision
to
always
honor
him
any
way
I
could.
I
moved
here
to
Mankato
on
March
23rd,
2023.
I
visit
the
river
almost
every
day,
all
though
the
river
is
high
right
now
with
the
spring
snow
thaw,
I
still
sit
on
the
bank,
wander
the
trails,
ride
bike
and
write
poetry
and
really
embrace
all
the
little
things
of
spring
time
and
Mankato.
I
have
also
met
a
very
special
man
that
has
helped
me
in
every
way.
I
couldn't
be
more
grateful.
I
will
continue
to
add
pictures
from
the
park
as
it
turns
greener.
Thank
you
