The food was disappointing to say the least. I ordered a schnitzel with pfifferling sauce, which costed around 20€. The schnizel was very small and dry. The sauce tasted purely like store-bought vegetable broth and was extremely salty. The 2-stars are mostly due to the location, because the food actually deserves none.

I was a bit surprised that the food was only slightly above mediocre. I was contemplating whether to give 3 or 4 stars but now that I see how criticism is handled, the unprofessional behavior online, and the straight up rudeness towards the people that pay your overpriced prices, I am forced to give 2. Update: food still 5/5 I got to try the breakfast setup (the Paris one), very nice! Salmon was my fav, and then the small portions but abundance choices would fill you up in the end. The other thing i tried was their autumn specials. A pumpkin aperitif was okay. But the pumpkin flammkuchen was amazing. My friend also got the rouladen and said it was one of the best meal he had. Food:5/5 I ordered the lasagna bolognese (got myself a box of salad since it was a lunch time promo) and a slice of Frankfurt crown cake. The lasagna was superb, i liked it. Good portion, meaty bolognese, consistency of the the tomato as well as the bechamel sauce was great, and on the bottom there was this crusty layer, i would guess it involved some cheesy layer - wow, me likey. The Frankfurt crown cake was great, at first i thought it was too sweet but not really when you got the jam layer, it was pretty well balance. The buttercream was light, and the nut layer was great. Will try for other menu later in the future. Service: 5/5 It was quick and to the point. I can see that they were quite busy, despite the pandemic situation, which was a good signal for them. On my visit, there was a lady who seemed to be a regular and the staffs were greeting her politely, super nice. I tried to make an order in german but maybe my german was unrecognizable that the owner just switched to english 😂 but i think the positive side is that the foreigners can rest assured they can converse in english easily here.

It is very well located in the city, in a nice neighborhood and very well known. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice and cozy, but quite small and with the tables “squeezed”. There are not many tables and is often full, therefore I highly suggest to do a reservation before going. The menu has limited options, and i expected to have more variety. The food was “ok”, i’ve ordered a steak that wasn’t tasty, the spices were not very well balanced and it was not delivering the promised quality. The condom bleu was nothing special and could be even a frozen option heated in the oven. The staff was very friendly, but only one waitress for the entire restaurant, which often was not enough (i’ve heard before going the service was not nice, and i could only agree after visiting). I had the impression that English wouldn’t be a problem. I would leave one highlight that was the deserts, really nice cakes - that they buy from another bakery in the city. Considering that the food was not that nice, i considered overpriced.

Great selection of healthy dishes and the food, staff, and place is very very German. Don’t expect requests for dish modifications to be accepted lol. A German friend brought me to this place and I loved it

Great little neighborhood gem! We stopped here on our way to Frankfurt, and it didn't disappoint at all! Loved the design, the service, the yummy resiling and of course the food! Highly recommend :)

I have been many places and i can tell „Gulasch „ here has very delicate taste. Location is just nice and close to river side by walking after satisfied dinner :)

Really good brunch with different alternatives, plenty of food and a good and wide selection of drinks. My cappuccino was nearly cold and we did not like the sparkling wine - sorry! As the restaurant is by the river you can have a picnic basket and eat on the fields in front of the river. You can also sit outside, the weather allowing.

Great food & service despite our poor German speaking skills. The staff looked after us. Delicious mushrooms that are in season. Would go again.

A wonderful bistro on the corner of a beautiful street in Mannheim, just steps from the Rhine. We enjoyed a delicious brunch, complete with sparkling wine. The staff were friendly and attentive, the food delicious, and the drinks hit the spot. Highly recommended stopping by the Metzgerei!

A nice comfortable but small Bistro clearly popular at Lunchtime. The food is good home made fair and the atmosphere and ambiance easy and relaxed. Good service and reasonable prices providing good value for money. Will definetly return.

Great place to visit while in Mannheim. Nice wine selection. Restaurant offers modern German cuisine with plenty of vegetarian and vegan dishes. I had a pumpkin soup which was mediocre, it was homemade but I felt it was pretty much mixed with water. Prices are okay. Interior is nicely decorated. Not many seats inside so maybe make a reservation.

I had went alone and they refused to let me sit due to 'insufficient personnel'. Despite several tables leaving and me proposing to wait a little, they still asked me to leave. Very rude of you.

Lovely local place to have a meal or some drinks with friends. We had (continental) breakfast/ brunch, but lunch menu is delicious as well.

Girls at counter just ignored us, even when seeing where we took place at a table. When asked for a menu at the bar, waitresses promised to come to the table soon. That did not happen. We did not get a hello nor a goodbye. We left without getting to enjoy any drinks nor food. Sadly. *After owners response* There is no excuse for ignoring customers. That we need a reservation to get greeted, information at counter after asking for a menu or a simple goodbye, does not seem right. Nevertheless, I thank you so much for your reply. Great food, relaxing ambiance. My friends and I went here for brunch and it worth every penny! The staffs were attentive and extremely helpful — even though my friends and I are not locals, a staff approached us and patiently spent his time explaining every course in English for us, and it was a busy weekend brunch time. It was definitely the most satisfying dining experience we ever have! Strongly recommend it 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
