What a beautiful palace. Took the tour and you can use your phone with an app to have an audio tour. Every room we visited just makes you think of the people that sat in those seats or ate at that table. The artwork is stunning, statues are beautiful, the carvings on the furniture have to be seen. If you're in the area this should be a must visit.

I enjoyed it so much! The experience starts on the sidewalk looking in. The court yard is impressive and the palace just feels, homey, if it makes sense. The entrance was 9 euros and I received an electronic guide in English which was surprisingly amazing. The information was interesting and it was read in an engaging way. Also, it was usually accompanied by baroque music. Before starting the 'tour' you need to leave your bag at a locker room, so make sure you have a 1 or 2 euro coin. You will get it back when you leave. Inside the palace you can enjoy both the rooms and the architecture, but also pieces of furniture and artifacts. There are several rooms, and several floors. One of the rooms is an interactive music room. You get a pair of headphones and can plug them in at different stations and listen to music and explanations. However - the explanations are in German. I didn't see an option to hear it in English. It is just the right size - enough to see without getting tired or bored, and leaving wanting more. At the end, where you bought the ticket you can buy some post cards and souvenirs - very reasonably priced.

The courtyard and the exterior of the building look impressive. But it seems it’s under restoration or something, everywhere there are construction material or barricades. When I arrived I even didn’t know if it’s open or not. When I finally figured out the entrance and entered in, I lost my interest to go on the tour. Maybe another time.

Stunning Baroque palace is overwhelming with its gigantic size and vibrant colors! Unfortunately I was not able to visit the museum as it closes at 5 PM (frankly that is quite early) therefore I could only appreciate the outside courtyard and its statues. As part of the palace is occupied by university, the place was super quiet on a Sunday afternoon. Small seating area was located at the main entrance to the complex. Visited in June 2022.

A rather expansive Baroque palace... too plain looking for my taste, only the middle section remains as a palace (or more accurately a museum). the rest has now been converted to a university. Worth visiting inside! awesome architecture and furniture and tapestries.

I am not sure what excites everyone so much..there is literally nothing original in the building. The whole thing is built new and most of the furniture is barely original. If you want to see a real palace, then go and see Schönbrunn Palace in Austria. As with many German small museums, they tried to make a story without much content inside. Outside it looks cool!

Largest Baroque palace outside Versailles, or so I was told. Free to walk around and inside.

Palace Mannheim was my favorite thing to do :) We took a guided tour at 11 a.m. There are not so many rooms as in Versailles but Palace Mannheim has more windows thus it is distinguished for being the second-largest Baroque complex globally. Definitely recommend if you love history and German castles

I went with the fervent obsession of adding one more palace to my list. I didn't know it was a university until I arrived. So I did put it on my list but I just took the photos from outside and it is very nice.

Since Germans are full of money, they painstakingly reconstructed this huge baroque palace even though almost nothing was left of it after World War II. The frescoes by Cosmas Damian Asam were redone in the style of an 8-years old by some guy they found on the street. They are painful to look at. Spare time and money and skip it.

Person on reception is very bad. Near 50 years old person in a grey shirt with glasses. He said that we receive some money from Germany but we come here like tourist and never receive any money from German government. This museum put Ukrainian flag on the top of the building but they never support Ukraine. All another museums in Mainheim support Ukraine, give to all Ukranians free tickets, hotels on Mainheim give discounts for Ukrainian refuges. When we come back to search administration. He said that he work here bur he do not say his name. When we say that we will tall about this situation with administration he give apologies but the better apologies will be if administration take off his salary for this month from him and send this to support Ukrainian army. Administration must give him money punishment and a lesson of a good maners with clients. We now said about this situation to everyone and nobody from Ukraine and normal people do not come to your discrimination place.

Went with the audio tour, was very well maintained and planned. Should take 1.5-3 hours depending on how much u prefer to know, very flexible and interactive

It was very hot inside, at least they should put air condition because they were a lot of people inside and we couldn't breath.

A huge building in U shape. Most part is being used as University I understand. Mostly renovated. It would be little boring to visit this place with out a guide.

Beautiful and interesting ! Big palace with a lot of wonderful and impressive rooms, tables and furnitures. Information and explanations are numerous, thanks to the audioguide included in the main ticket. Everything is clear and well organized, and if you take time to see and hear everything, you can stay at least 2 hours there. Price is 8€ for adults, 4€ for students and children.

I’m sure the castle is beautiful. If I had the chance to enter. I wasn’t allowed in with my wallet. My wallet. Not a bag, not a purse. A wallet with my IDs. Not bigger than a phone. I understand bags aren’t allowed for security purposes but a wallet? She was adamant, I had to put it in the locker or leave. Plus, there a way to explain and find solutions, being rude as a front desk employee won’t get you anywhere… Very disappointed.
