I think it's a funny idea 👍😊 The castle park writes the following: "At the end of the corridor there is a trompe l'oeil painting - from French: a painted illusion of the eye. It suggests a view of an idyllic river landscape. ... This illusion is achieved through a sophisticated construction. A pavilion decorated with semi-precious stones, shells and paintings has an opening in its dark back wall. Behind this there is a slightly concave wall on which a landscape image is applied using the fresco technique. The eye is drawn through the darkness to the bright image. Special effect: When the viewer changes location, the view of the landscape also changes."

A beautiful, spacious castle park where you can also take your dog with you. Only the indoor areas are taboo for the furry friends. Lots of frogs and ducks frolic in the castle lake, as well as relaxed herons who had their photos taken. I liked the mosque and "The End of the World" the best. I found the aviaries with the songbirds less beautiful, no one needs that and some people say they are really sick, which is why I deducted a point.

Interesting illusion - it's a large garden this is one of the highlights, but it's not something I'd make a trip for. We happened to be there. If you want to be away from traffic and noice, come here.

Certainly a beautifully landscaped park that needs a lot of maintenance. For me, however, it primarily reflects one thing that the nobility/lobby have done and are still doing through decadence - "The End of the World" - that can also be viewed as a work of art here in the park - for this and for an artificial garden (without any Explanations of plants, buildings and facilities) to charge a price of €17.50 for a family ticket and then not even be able to visit the rooms - that brings us back to decadence. My tip - It's better to take a walk in the forest or a nice hike in the surrounding area.

I happened to be there and it was nice to visit, unfortunately not everything was open but the gardens were good.

Beautiful image, which due to the concave background creates a beautiful scenery that looks a little like the end of the world. If you are in Schwetzingen, the Schwetzingen Castle Gardens are definitely worth a visit.

I still know the end of the world from my childhood. Back then you could still go straight to the mural. Today you can only get about 30 meters - separated by a fence - so you can hardly see anything. However, I had seen a family standing right in front of it. Did they have a key for the side doors??

Insanely beautiful and well-kept gardens. It's huge (the park takes up about a third of Schwetzingen's built-up area!), so you can easily spend a whole day there if you want to see everything. The highlight are the gate structures that are scattered throughout the park. I think EUR 7.50 per person is absolutely reasonable for the effort that has to be made to maintain the facility.

It is a funny and different addition to the gardens as a whole 'painting', but not something I would visit the gardens for.

The Schwetzingen castle garden is ideal for walks, idyllic corners and peace everywhere. The wild cherry blossom is particularly worth a visit at the moment.

👍 The Rococo Theater is well worth seeing even when there is no performance. Tours of the theater are occasionally offered, which you should of course take advantage of by running in the castle park. The theater is still used today. Unfortunately, also for “modern” productions like the Nebuchadnezzar...

👍👍 The super-inspired work is an attraction for all tourists who come to Schwetzingen. First to take a picture with the asparagus seller and then to admire it from the nearby terrace where you can quietly enjoy a beer looking at passers-by.
