Nice thought, poorly implemented... endless boring Nibelungen verses in Old German via headphones, exhibit-free exhibition with strange exhibits from plays. Then €6 entry fee for a public museum is not possible and should be urgently revised. I would get an idea from the Kevelaer Museum. There are good ideas about the Nibelungenlied and the Siegfried saga... It was a waste of time for us. A pity

When taking an audio guide tour for children, there should be a little more introduction and explanation at the beginning. Otherwise very well told. Something more visual at the stations would also be helpful.

It is not a museum in that sense. It is audio guided tour, story telling tour with some monochrome videos along. 5.5 Euro for entry. Worth it ? Depends on your interest. If you are looking for some ancient historical artefacts then this not the place for you. If you are interested in listening story of events that occurred few centuries ago in Germany, then go there.

A very interesting and modern museum that does not contain any exhibits. Rather, you are introduced to the Nibelungen, their story, the origins, as well as the historical context and the tour takes you through various stations (in the old city wall and two of its towers), where you get information via headphones (I chose those English leadership decided) I really liked it and I can recommend it - but it takes time

? A museum without artefacts/exponats... only walk on the wall and a nice view from the top of the second tower. Many stories and legends about a huge treasure of Nibellugs but...any coin or any small piece of gold from them... in the ,,museum"🤭 Don't get me wrong, the building and the route are well organized but...there is not any connection with Nibellungs... only some stories on the head sets and few plastic's figurines. You can call this place how you want but not ,,museum"...🤥. Sorry to say but it is to much! And keep your children home if you intend to visit this place...they will be so borred. 🤒

I wouldn't describe the Nibelungen Museum as a museum. With a very well-made audio guide, you take a journey through the Nibelungen saga and how the work was used and sometimes misused for a variety of purposes. Embedded in the sparse remains of the city wall, you follow the story. In the listening tower you have a beautiful view of the cathedral and over Worms. Unfortunately, there is a new building right next to the museum, a new house is being built there and the construction workers have turned the crane boom so that it is right in front of the cathedral. Very annoying if you are only in Worms for a day. Unfortunately, a great photo opportunity was prevented.

The Nibelungen Museum in Worms, a place that brings the legendary stories from the Nibelungen saga to life! My visit began with a triumphant entry into the Hall of Legends, where the walls were so rich in epic illustrations that even the ancient Greeks would have been green with envy. The exhibits were so artfully staged that I felt like I was immersed in the realm of Siegfried and Kriemhild. The armor and weapons were so impressive that for a moment I thought they had created a separate "Medieval Fashion-Forward" department. I ventured into the Dragon Hall, where the life-size model of the fearsome wyvern turned every visitor into a daring dragon slayer. The background music seemed like it was straight out of a Hollywood epic and made my tour an adventure, like I was walking through the sets of an epic film. Now to the legendary rating of the Nibelungen Museum in Worms: 4.9 Hero Hearts out of 5. A tiny deduction because my attempt to pull Excalibur out of the stone was not exactly enthusiastically supported by the security forces. But who can resist a modern knight?

Well - very long-winded and not recommended at all with children. I think calling it a museum is pretty brave. You don't miss anything if you haven't seen it

Mixed reviews here. Wife wasn't crazy about it, she got bored quickly. There are many stairs to climb and you must really like audio tours. I liked it ok. My teenager found it confusing. Oh well!

In general I love legends and specially the ones related to the Norse myths. The Nibelungenmuseum gives you the story of Siegfried as it common to the locals and this part of the world. Its interesting to compare the different versions of the legend between the Norse Prose, and even lately in moder times when Wagner used this story to make his Opera where he has mixed both versions and added his own flavour. So if you have interest to experience these then this museum is for you. And remember each year the city of Worms offers special fest called Nibelungsfest if have interest check out their website.

I wish it had more information on the history of the wall and town, but the focus is on the Nibelungen with audio from the "author's" perspective. The building is very hot in September and not air-conditioned (naturally). Be prepared to climb stairs.

We were disappointed. It's not a museum! There's nothing to see. But listen! The “audio book” (the audio tour) is great!!! But it would be nicer on a comfortable sofa at home. A pity!

Really enjoyed the museum. It's not a museum as such as it doesn't house any relics of the past. But on different stations a guy called Mario Adorf ( I believe) tells you the story of the "Nibelungen Sage". I very much enjoyed and so did my husband. I would recommend a visit.

Informative place if you are interested in the Nibelungs and Richard Wagner. There is an audio device that tells the legend and information at the various stations. You climb quite a few stairs in the defensive tower up on the city wall. Walk along the city wall to the second defensive tower, which also has many steps up to the viewing platform. From there you have a view of the four cardinal points with an explanation of the audio device. It takes some time to get back to the exit. In the basement you can watch a film with explanations and the Ring of the Nibelungs.

Brilliant exhibition. You'll learn everything about the Nibelungen tale from past to present. Great audio guide. Spent more than three hours inside. This is one of the most exciting museums on a piece of fiction I ever went to. Absolutely recommended. Cheap entrance fee.

A nice museum, even if there is little to see (which is probably due to the subject matter... ;)) I really like the idea of the audio tour and it was a bit like walking through an audio book. I thought it was absolutely great and also very visually told. It was fun. :)

On the trail of Richard Wagner and the Nibelungen. Small but beautiful museum with a modern implementation of the Nibelungen Lied and Wagner's cycle, starting from Rheingold to Götterdämmerung. The Hagen monument and Siegfried's grave can still be admired nearby. The staff was very friendly and attentive.

Nice place, great idea, but plain Palace. Not so interactive. And people there not so nice

Audioguide is amazing. Story is rich and you feel completely inside it. However, it is quite long, so plan around 2 hours to listen for both towers. Also important that because of corona there is limited amount of people allowed in museum, so you might wait outside a bit.

Nice museum having good collection of relics of thousands of years old , especially related to Worms and surrounding areas.

Audio tour with mediocre explanations of the history of the Nibelung. Don’t recommend unless you’re really into the story already. Barely any artefacts

  • 3/5 Masics 1 year ago on Google
Not so language friendly, with the only languages available being English, French and German and it is a really important matter because the whole experience is based in an audio guide.

I can’t believe I just spent 4,50€ to listen to a podcast while looking at some screens. If you don’t have anything to show please do not use the word “museum”. Do not recommend.

👍👍 Very relaxing park in Worms. A place for families but as well for a relaxing walk alone to free the the mind and get some fresh air. I can also recommend the park for outdoor exercising such as walking, running and yoga!
