Ranila
Jain
temple
is
in
the
Charkidadri
district
of
Haryana.
Ranila
was
a
significant
Jain
centre
during
the
medieval
period;
it
is
30
km
away
from
Bhavani,
and
the
distance
from
Delhi
is
118
km.
The
temple
has
the
main
idol
of
Lord
Adinath
and
23
other
Tirthankaras.
The
idol
of
Goddess
Chakreshwari
(
Yakshani
of
Lord
Adinath
)
is
within
the
same
compound.
On
18th
October
1991,
a
farmer
named
Ranjit
Singh
found
these
idols
in
his
field
during
the
excavation.
These
idols
are
said
to
be
1400-1500
years
old.
The
idol
of
Adinath
is
richly
carved,
with
the
images
of
Adinath
in
the
centre
and
images
of
24
tirthankar
in
both
padmasan
and
kayotsarga
postures.
Adinath
is
in
the
centre
with
Shrivatsa
on
the
chest
and
a
carving
of
a
bull
below
the
pedestal.
Mandir
walls
have
48
beautiful
carvings
depicting
the
shlokas
of
Bhaktamar
Stotra.
Temple
has
an
air-conditioned
Dharamshala
and
Bhojnalya.
Very
delicious
Jain
food
is
available
at
short
notice
without
payment;
however,
one
puts
money
in
the
donation
box.
The
unique
part
of
this
temple
is
the
garden;
it
has
a
set
of
23
trees
of
different
varieties.
These
are
the
Parihar,
the
tree
under
which
Tirthankar
attained
Kevalgyan.
