This is my first time staying in a Zostel. The experience was far better than what I imagined. Rooms were clean, food was great and it was available till 10pm. Out of all, the place it's located in a hill top with an amazing view.

Alcohol is strictly prohibited which was shocking for me. For shared washroom you have to go other side of property so please do check that. It’ll be good for everyone if they can put these kind of details on website before booking. Other that that everything was good. Staff is very polite and helpful.

I was on my solo ride for the new year. And U was very fortunate to find an accommodation at this amazing hostel. Very beautiful property which looks so royal. It's a vintage bungalow. Quite old property but it has been renovated and transformed it into such an awesome place to stay at. They have been maintaining it so nicely. Very neat, clean and hygenic place. Not very far from the main market. The management and staff are so courteous and helpful. You call them for any sort of help and they'll be on their toes to help you with it. They are the best people around if you need any suggestions. Highly recommended place if you're in Ooty. All the best! ✌

The location is awesome. You will an awesome view from the hostel. The rooms are okay, I have found other zostel with better rooms but since they are hygienic it works The only problem is that the washrooms aren't attached for the 6 bed dorms, but not as issue for me. Finally the guy in the counter nitin was awesome but the other guy was rude. I have travelled across many zostel but I haven't encountered someone as rude as him Other than that it was good. The vibe was good. We met a lot of people and had an awesome time

The atmosphere and location of Zostel Ooty is truly breathtaking. The view of the surrounding landscape is incredible both during the day and at night. Additionally, the staff and other guests created such a warm and inviting environment which made me feel at home from the moment I arrived. Highly recommend!!

It was my 1st experience at Zostel and it was all great & relaxing. The staff was courteous & welcomed us with open heart. The property is clean, the vibe is young, the food is satisfying and the bonfire lit created an altogether different aura. All in all it is a must visit for solo travellers & for couples as well as they have private rooms too which I had opted for 2 days.

It's a good place for a solo or bachelor trip. The outside view is mind-blowing. Photos captured from my bed in the early morning and a little late morning. All the staff are very friendly and cooperative, especially Nikhil.... One improvement- can have 2 bathroom for 8-10 person, else it will be also good if you add another washbasin outside the bathroom. It will save others time. Thank you...

This was my first stay at a Zostel and overall I really enjoyed it. The location was great, food was good (definitely better than the small restaurants around the area), the beds and washrooms were clean and the staff were very friendly. Whatever niggles I faced were probably easy fixes waiting to happen...like for instance, my dorm had trouble with the water heater but I verified that the other dorms didn't have the issue. The Wifi was spotty during rains but that again is expected out of a hill-station. Having a heating system would've been great, but personally it's not a deal breaker for me. Overall, it was a lovely experience.

Amazing location and good service. Bunk beds in dorm are not that good. Didn't feel sturdy. For 10bed dorm only one washroom. Road to location is bit tricky. Better to ask local people. Restuarant: you can order food at hotel, rates are normal Ordering online food from outside is not allowed. Parking for 4 wheelers is available, at least for 3-4 cars.

Perfect place for back packers. One of the most fun places to be in Ooty, where you just don't find amazing people but more than what you expect. Property manager, Zain and other staff members make it an amazing experience for every traveler here. Food is amazing and they give best suggestions for exploring ooty. If you're traveling with a friend or solo then this is where you come... Trust me you'll never return alone.. memories and friends !!! Talking about the property , it's very cozy and comfortable. Stayed here for a whole week and honestly, I fell in love with this place. Zain sir and his staff members made me feel like home. It's located at a really nice location overlooking the city. Getting here: If you're getting to Ooty by bus, you could either take an auto or just walk. If you're taking the toy train then it's better to take an Auto. About the Place: The property has a very aesthetic look. There's enough place to park about 4 cars in the premises. There are various types of dorms to choose from viz. Mixed Dorms, Female Dorms and a Private Room as well. There's also a common area with quite a few board games, a TV and books to choose from. You can relax, read a book and enjoy the beautiful view through the window. There's a terrace as well! The Food: If you have a weak stomach and scared that you might fall sick eating outside, then there's a kitchen here as well. The menu is reasonably priced with quite a few things to choose from. The food is good and hygienic as well. The Dorms: The dorms are kept neat and tidy. Each bed is equipped with one socket and a reading lamp. There's also a locker, where you could keep your valuables as well. The Washrooms: The washrooms concern everyone so let me clear the doubts. There are 3 common toilets and 3 common bathrooms ( for the dorms without the shared washrooms) The toilets do get dirty but if you feel they get really dirty, you could tell the staff and they do a great job. I've never faced any issues with the hygiene. The bathrooms are equipped with geysers. The Staff: They are really friendly and would help you whenever required. They do a great job keeping the whole hostel neat and tidy! More services: If you need help in planning your trip, in and around Ooty, you could contact the reception or the Manager and they would be more than happy to help you out. They also can arrange a cab or an auto for an affordable price (if you go in a group). My review: I actually came here for 4 days but kept extending my stay because of the great hospitality! It sure was a memorable trip. Meeting new people everyday, sharing stories, singing, dancing around the warm bonfire. Thank you Zostel Ooty for hosting me! Until next time! :)

Zostel ooty is probably one of the best stay’s I have ever had. Here’s why : Location: just a minute away from the bus stand and the market. Zostel ooty is not too far from the Center and far enough to escape any traffic noise. Stay: the staff is wonderful! Zain the manager makes everyone feel like they’re a part of the Zostel family and you keep coming back for more. Zostel ooty is one the best place’s to stay in ooty, good food, clean stay and wonderful people! Dont miss out!

Every hotel/accommodation is not perfect and it is totally understandable. But there are certain aspects that should be taken care of closely, especially in the times we are living in: 1)When we arrived, the linen on 1 out of three booked beds was clearly unclean with hair on it. After a requests, it was changed thankfully and we are glad for that. 2)The water supply for wash basin and toilet hose did not have connection with the geyser, in the sense water was super cold in the mornings and night. 3)Availability of warm drinking water. May be installing a water filter which dispenses this can surely help all guests. There is a kettle to heat water but I don't think all guests are aware of it, plus you need to walk a bit in the cold to reach there. Apart from the above points, I think it was a decent place to stay. My first time at a Zostel and had heard a lot about it, maybe another try at another location may up my ratings. Very beautiful and budget hotel in Ooty

The location is pretty good. It's just a 1km walk from the bus stand. The railway station is also at a walkable distance. But though 1 km, as the roads are steep, it will take you about 20 minutes to reach the location by walk. The auto charge from the bus stand is Rs. 70-100. Service is nice. Cleaning and maintenance also happens regularly. Food- breakfast options and the taste was good. The parathas and stuffed omelette were good. The beverages are below average. Didn't taste good and was a little watery...the coffee, hot chocolate, tea, etc. Rooms are neat. Not well-lit. But you have flexible personal lamps and charging points near your bed. Bathrooms are usually not attached. Had to go outside the building to use the facilities. But it's maintained neatly.

Pros: Very near to Ooty bus stand Have nice places to eat once you get down the main road View is okay Have bonfire for some time with music Cons: Room was not maintained well. There were spider webs. Pillow cover was dirty. Definitely not worth 1200 for that room with 2 beds. Do not come with high expectations.

The zostel Ooty is an excellent place to stay, excellent location and property, but I'm not sure why they put a bunch of rules like a college hostel. People should be relaxed and enjoy their time with fellow travelers, it would be unfair if rules were imposed. Aside from that, the staff were very helpful, especially the kitchen staff and the one who operated the campfire (I don't remember his name). The food was amazing, compared to other zostels. My stay has been great for three days. In my opinion it would be great if they have more activities in the evening!

Food is amazing, rooms were good but congested, for washroom you needed to visit other side of property it would have been easier if they could have mentioned over website itself so people would actually know. There were also issues with hot water as had received complaints from fellow crowd too during hours in morning ! Other then that everything is perfect and location is good. Staff is nice and people are nice too.

Perfect stay, perfect place for travellers, cheap accommodation and good food. The bus that takes you around for tour comes right outside zostel. You can meet different people, mingle around and make great memories! Special thanks to the property manager (PM) Nikhil, he was extremely good! Would 100% come back!

I had a time of my life here.. such clean rooms, such great food and service. Also made so many friends and memories.. the view is awesome and easily accessible to all the popular tourist places in Ooty.. being a women solo traveler felt very safe and at home.. must stay.

We booked a private room for two nights here. The location is really great and the hosts were friendly and helpful too. The con is that the private room wasn't really worth the money you pay for it. The room doesn't come with a fan (Some people might not really need it as the temperature is cool pretty much throughout the year....but some might). Also, the room feels pretty cramped and the size of the bathroom is larger compared to the room. There is no TV nor any room service or turndown service. Also, the food is served in the common area and you have to go down and have it even if you order it online. Considering all the above points, I would definitely suggest it for someone travelling solo/booking a dorm but not for someone who is looking for a private room with different amenities.

Clean rooms and good service. They have an in house cafe which serves delicious food. Bonfire is lit at night and they also have a few games to kill time. It's located around the city center making the commute to tourist places easy. The ambience and view are decent, but compared to other zostels, it could have been better.

Good vibe, dorms aren't very comfortable, some beds need maintenance. Attract good crowd so would go for fun. Doesn't allow drinking inside property. Needs to be deserted by 10.30pm. food was value for money. View is great!

We stayed in Silent Valley, private room, in Zostel and found it value for money. The staff is extremely courteous, helpful and efficient. The Canteen/Cafe is good enough for all meals with again a very nice kitchen staff. The items in the canteen are priced very reasonably and the food is fairly nice. The private room is well equipped with all basic necessities with a sizeable attached bath.

The stay was amazing, and the kitchen cooks amazing food. Great service by the staff as well. Do stay here if you are looking to make new friends while exploring and have a memorable trip :)

Very good place. Dorm is affordable and good. Restroom is moderately clean. Be careful with the Bernard there, it looks calm but don't touch him. Place is a little away from the city and relatively higher. Do see the attached picture if night view from the property. The staff there are interning students of travel and tourism so they are quite interactive and make us play some games.

It was my first Zostel experience and I didn't expect much but the way Zostel staff made us feel at home and provided everything we needed was amazing. The beds were cosy, rooms were neat and clean and the environment was homely. Friendly staff specially Dipankar and Zayn made this experience the best. Food was amazingly delicious too. You must try stuffed omelette in breakfast. The crowd too was culturally rich and friendly.

I stayed in Zostel for the first time and it was really worth experience. I met new people, we hang out with eachother, we enjoyed Ooty together. I met Tulip, one of the volunteer there and she took us on Ooty tour. She introduced to good cafe, good tea places and tourist place. We went by walk and it gave us feeling of our city only.. Zostel was really good place to meet new people while going for solo trip or familiarise with places while going in group as well. The staff was amazing, food was also good and volunteer were really helpful and kind enough to familiarise with place.

Spent a few days until New Year here and absolutely loved it! The managers Zain and Dipankar as well as the kitchen staff were extremely friendly and helped me with everything from settling in to checking out. I tried the vegetarian food here and found it to be quite homely and tasty. The view is quite nice from the 10 person dorm and the common areas are perfect for puttering around with a cup of tea and a novel. Overall, the place is maintained quite well .The repurposed victorian bungalow in which zostel is housed makes the experience quite unique! The real magic however, lies in the way the culture of the hostel is curated. Amazing people from different parts of the world come together around the bonfire to share songs, play games and tell stories.

It's a hostel for backpackers. They have mixed dormitory, female only dormitory, private rooms. I booked a bed in mixed-dorm for Rs. 749/- for 29th dec night. It was a very comfortable and relaxing stay (kind of a cozy place to stay). I met many like-minded people, travellers and got to know about their adventurous experiences. We spent good time around campfire singing songs, dancing, sharing stories. There were two volunteers as well who helped all of us get comfortable with each other while playing uno cards. You can ask for tea or food by paying extra for your order. Place was very neat and clean. You can get hot water 24x7. Bedsheets were very clean. Pillows and mattress was very comfortable. They provided a duvet(-5°C) also which helped to sleep well in a very cold night. There's a bed side lamp as well which can be used for late night reading or other activities. Charging points are provided bed-side (though i didn't use them at all , because its good to spend time outside doing so many other activities). Location was bit hard to find (Google maps need to work on that), but very close to the city centre.

Zostel has a great atmosphere and is THE place to stay in Ooty if you want to meet like-minded travelers. While I was there, guests had the option to take part in group activities every day, including hikes and visits to local places of interest as well as take part in social activities in the evenings. Zostel is close to the bus station and town centre but as it's half-way up a hill there a nice views of the town and surrounding hills from the hostel. I stayed in one of the private rooms which was spacious and comfortable.

Ooty zostel doesn’t have much to offer but it’s hospitality. We were sitting quietly finishing up our breakfast and there came Tulip asking us if we wanted to go on a ooty tour with her. She helped us out as our rooms weren’t allowed and then took us on the best tour one can wish for. She is such an amazing personality and knows everything about ooty.. has amazing stories to share.. it’s such a pleasure to hang out with her
