Happily surprised by this place. Another case of don’t judge a book by its cover. This place is located in older mall in Manzini and hard to see as you approach, much less from the street. Keep looking and what a gem. Friendly service, large portions and relaxing atmosphere. Everything for us was perfect. Open clean kitchen was nice touch. Like the tv on but muted, extensive bar featuring Portuguese wines, even outside seating. Make sure to take a look at the dessert case! Recommend and intend to return. Loved the roast chicken and t-bone.

I hadn't been there for over 15 years and I was happy to see that the quality of the food is still the best. I would recommend anybody to go there. Definitely one of the best restaurants in the country. Free bread rolls and butter are served before your meal arrives. Recommended dish: Chef's Platter Golden Tip: Do not go on a completely empty stomach because you may wait a while for your meal....but it's definitely worth the wait.

Had a wonderful meal here. Big portions, big menu, great service. Desserts and baked goods looked great too although we didn’t get any unfortunately. Easy 5 stars from me.

Best restaurant in Eswatini, delicious meals and excellent service

Bakery was awesome. Linguine was cooked nicely but a little over cooked (too soft) and kind of watery (too much sauce) and salty. However, the sauce was really great. The vanilla ice cream really tasted like...... cream. Not a fan of it. Nice dining experience overall.

We visited their bakery next door and the rolls are delicious. Its even the only place in town where you can get something that a European would dare to call bread. Very good! But the best here are the different varieties of custard tarts, danishs and cakes. Absolutely incredible!

Yes, we love this place! That is referring to the bakery. Did not get around to visiting the restaurant yet. Always ask what was freshly baked that day and you can never go wrong. The prices are very moderate and you can park right in front of the bakery.

We travelled from Malelane Mpumalanga especially to visit this restaurant and we were not disappointed! Where ever me and my boyfriend travel to, we always looking for a good Portuguese restaurant, Gil Vicent ticked all the boxes I had the seafood platter which was outstanding, my boyfriend had the chicken, awesome atmosphere with friendly service and very clean, the resturant also had a bakery and bottle store attached to it. When we arrived in Manzini we could not find Gil Vicent as we had no signal on our phones, but the locals were very polite and assisted in directing us to the centre were Gil Vicent is.

Portuguese restaurant in the heart of Manzini close to the CBD. The service was not good, the waitress was slow, unattentive and not engaging about the menu or its contents. The food took long to come, but the quality of the food was ok. The setting and ambiance are well suited for large groups. Nice restaurant, but the service quality could use some improvement.
