Imelda was a wonderful host - gave me local recommendations, organised taxi to the airport and the highlight was a home cooked delicious breakfast. Her guesthouse is clean, fully stocked and very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again when in Maputo.

An absolutely lovely place to stay in Maputo. Although our room was not the biggest, it was equipped nicely (blue room) and we were taken care of in the loveliest way by the landlady. We received a welcoming drink, had a bath in the pool at night to cool down from the heat in the city and received the heartiest breakfast of all our stays in Mozambique. Highly recommend this place!

Casa Quimera is a complete gem of a guest house in the heart of Maputo run by a retired couple who have renovated their home to create 5+ rooms to rent out to guests. This was the best possible way to start our travels in Mozambique and we truly felt welcomed! They went above and beyond to accommodate guest needs and give local recommendations. They also provide (paid) transport from/to the airport. I cannot say enough about how lovely these hosts were! WOW.

I had the pleasure of staying at Casa Quimera for a couple of weeks in July, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. This charming bed and breakfast truly became my home away from home during my time in Maputo. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality. The host, Imelda, went above and beyond to ensure my comfort throughout my stay. Her attention to detail and genuine care for her guests really sets Casa Quimera apart. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-appointed, with comfortable beds and all the amenities you need for a relaxing stay. The outdoor pool area is a tranquil oasis, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring the city. But the real star of the show is undoubtedly Imelda's legendary breakfast. Each morning, I was treated to a feast of fresh fruits, homemade yogurt, delicious coffee, and a variety of hot dishes. It was the perfect way to start each day and kept me energized for my adventures in Maputo. The location is ideal - situated in a safe, quiet neighborhood, yet within walking distance of restaurants, bars, and local attractions. It's the perfect base for exploring all that Maputo has to offer. What truly made my stay special was the homey atmosphere and the genuine connections I formed with Imelda and the other guests. Whether chatting over breakfast or relaxing by the pool in the evening, I always felt welcome and at ease. If you're looking for a place that offers the comfort of home with the amenities of a top-notch bed and breakfast, look no further than Casa Quimera. Very lovely host. Imelda went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. What can I say, she succeeded. We were greeted with a surprising yet lovely welcome snack including homemade passion fruit juice. Other than that, the property has a nice pool to take a dip, Imelda offers delicious homemade breakfast and Casa Quimera offers a great base to explore Maputo by walking around. The room we had was a bit small, but had everything we needed and was absolutely fine. Would come back any time.

This place was incredibly neat and the host was very friendly. We could not stay for breakfast but she still packed us something to take on the road and got up early to see us off. Not a lot of parking here, but the street outside has parking available. The rooms are not big, but they are very comfortable and are great for a stay over in Maputu.
