I really enjoyed going there I’m from Mozambique, and that day I was working as a guide for a group that came from SA for the first time , they really enjoyed. I invite you all to go there and learn more about the history.😊

A beautiful museum in a beautiful city. The exhibits are very well done and easy to follow. There is an abundance of information which is translated in both English and Portuguese. Towards the back of the museum there are real trains that are exhibited and they are in very good condition and well taken care of. The price of entry is very reasonable and cheap which makes it available to most of the public. With this being said, it isn't overpacked. It's location within the train station is ideal as it is quiet and avoids the huge crowds of people waiting for their trains. Walking to the museum takes you through the station and allows you to see Mozambican life in progress. Overall a great experience and one worth enjoying on your next visit to Maputo. Even if you are a local, the museum is definitely worth a visit!

Absolutely first class railroad station and museum! Must see if you’re in Maputo and have any interest in history.

This museum has so much to see and all the information is set out in Portuguese and English - so we could read about the history and all the exhibits. We all enjoyed it immensely - young and older. A great outing for the whole family!

What a gem. Learnt a lot. Very informative and well presented. Another unexpected highlight were the wedding photo shoots happening all around us. Nice touch. Only disappointment: didn’t see any moving trains at this train station. Could use more crowds and trains departing and arriving. :-)

I have to say I was pleasently surprised of the museum and the state of Maputo's train station. Abdolutly one point you must see if you spend some time in Maputo.
