Great experience. I love the museum alot.Guide explains each and every part of the museum very kindly and he is the best.
My 5 year old loved this museum. Beautiful exhibits, with minerals from all over Moçambique. The guide was very knowledgeable and kind, a geology student at Eduardo Mondlane University. Showed us a big piece of graphite and how it is used in pencils. Showed us naturally occurring fluorescence. My child says he'd love to go back to Maputo and visit the museum again.
excellent selection and supporting information. Well informed staff and helpful attendance.
Very nice little museum. Ask one of the guides (usually volunteer geologists) to show you around and give you a spiel about the geology, geography and current industry of Mozambique. There are mostly mineral and fossil samples and some maps. Entry is met 20 for students, 50 for locals and 100 for tourists.
Interesting Historical building. Walking distance from most locations. The staff that assisted were so friendly. As an English speaker they catered to my needs. If you are a fan of Geology, definitely pop in. Even if it is to escape the heat of Maputo 😊.
I really enjoyed this place. The stuff was great, although it was a bit hard to understand their English but as a geologist, I would get a sense of what they were trying to say. They explained so much about the geology of Mozambique (or maybe not so much but...). Oh and the sight of all the rocks and minerals they have, it was so Gneisse to see
Beautiful collection of minerals, rocks and fossils!!! Got me back to my University days studying geology!! Entrance fee: MZN100 (Approx. $1.4)
Very good collection of stones more than 1000 years old . I came from India The Information is displayed in portuguese as well as in English. That helped in understanding geology
