Hotel Polana gave a best service for our wedding. Catering provided by hotel was excellent. Thank you Mr Doulat Sing chefe he made delicious food for the buffet. We loved everything. I would rate 5 star for their service.

In short, a well rounded 5* experience that really doesn't leave much to be desired. Pros: - Beautiful colonial style property with very professional staff all around - rooms are beautiful with nice walk-in shower, full sized bathtub, strong AC - two stunning pool, one large one overlooking the ocean and a second one in the spa area which was well heated. - generally fully equipped spa, with really hot Sauna including Aufguss, stream room and large jacuzzi. I was the only guest in the entire facility and it feels very secluded. I loved it. Only downside for guest used to European saunas, its gender separated - breakfast buffet with broad selection. Especially pastries and many juices. Very good coffee. Options for vegans a bit more limited. Starts at 7am - Dinner very tasty also with many good vegan options. Especially the Indian dishes were really fantasticaly prepared. They could add a few more interesting options in the cocktail menu. Cons: - Only real con I can think about is that there is only one old elevator and that one was our of order when we visited. Given the building is only three floors not a problem, but for someone with less mobility worth keeping in mind. Note: the property is close to the coast but it's a drive up

The Polana Serena is a lovely establishment. Over 100 years old! I love how they've maintained, for the most part, the classic look and feel of the place, from the furniture & fittings to the surroundings. If you're looking for a laidback place to stay in the heart of Maputo, this would be in my top 5. The staff are wonderful. Most are bilingual (Portuguese and English, which is helpful for tourists especially) and are always on hand to help with anything. Being an old establishment, some aspects do look dated but appear to be well maintained nonetheless. Overall, I'd recommend this place! Check out their website for more information!

Absolutely stunning hotel with memorable views and perfect for a formal or wedding occasion. I attended a wedding at the hotel and experienced the beauty of this large venue. The staff are friendly and the catering is wonderful. Rooms vary in size and are not very modern, but are comfortable and relaxing.

Worth a visit simply for its history. Average food and service, big prices ….to be expected. Restaurant hostess looked at me like I’d crawled out of a piece of cheese. We didn’t stay at the hotel. Just popped in for lunch. Bucket list type of item 😀
