5/5 Robert R. 5 years ago on Google
No
detail
was
overlooked.
It
was
a
perfectly
restored
building
from
the
1800's.
It
was
a
vineyard
in
the
beginning
and
the
family
just
runs
it
as
a
b&b.
The
property
was
in
a
quiet
town,
in
a
residential
development,
but
retains
it's
originality.
Lavender,
roses,
orange
trees
covered
the
land.
The
owners
spoke
practically
no
English
so
that
made
it
all
the
more
fun.
The
whole
family
met
us
and
they
were
attentive
to
every
particular
-
breakfast
was
a
feast
for
the
senses
and
the
mother
was
eager
to
engage
us
about
our
travels
even
though
she
only
spoke
Italian.
At
times
I
understood
her
well
enough
to
translate
for
the
group
and
at
others
I
had
to
rely
on
Google
translate.
They
had
surely
never
seen
that.
She
also
prepared
the
food
for
breakfast
which
was
more
than
enough
for
breakfast
and
lunch
combined
and
she
took
great
pride
in
our
enjoyment.
She
made
cannolis
that
could
be
the
best
on
the
planet.
Le
Macine
1868
was
conveniently
located
near
the
earthquake
ravaged
town
of
Poggioreale.
Now
that
town
is
abandoned,
breathtakingly
tragic
and
beautiful.
Fig
trees
and
wildflowers
amidst
the
ruins
are
striking
contrast
to
the
ruins.
