It's a nice trail, and the woods are beautiful. However if you're going I recommend you go to enjoy being outside, and not to get too excited about the falls. We were expecting there to be not much water, it's July after all. We were not expecting it to be fairly far off trail, partially obscured by trees, and blocked by a fence. A shame because it looks like it would be a fun one to sit at the base of. Also, the bugs were relentless. We had plenty of bug spray on and they did not care.

One of the most beautiful places to re-energize reconnect with the "real world"! This place is truly an example of the wonders of Upstate NY. Walkers and runners may choose to venture the high trail that meanders through a variety of majestic trees in what feels like a deep forest. The high trail also offers overlook views of the waterfalls, where further along you can scamper down the hillside to wade in the top stream. The valley trail leads to the base of the waterfalls, but plan to get wet if you choose this route! On a hot summer day, it's the perfect place for a cool walk in the woods and a splash or two with the native wildlife. The trails are very well maintained, so this place is a suitable escape for casual nature seekers and young children. It's usually quiet, too, so it's a safe bet for some nature therapy. There are a few benches along the trails as well, so no need to rush your way through. So grateful for this spot!

Steep first part of the walk up from the parking area. The stairs are very narrow and the wood is crumbling. Once you get up though, it levels off and a nice easy walk through the woods, just watch for roots and rocks. The falls view from the trail is very obscured but trees (late summer) and with 2 little ones we didn't head off trail. We just did a short our and back, but there were more trails we'll come back to explore. Also, the stream right from the parking lot was nice to walk along and look for frogs and critters.

I love experiencing new trails and I would recommend this trail to someone. If you have a dog, there is a great little creek to be able to go in. The Falls trail has slightly rough terrain if you have little ones. Overall, a beautiful trail!

Very pretty fall hike through the "golden" woods. Many intersecting trails so you can make your hike as short or as long as you like. Bring a trail map or take a pic at the trailhead to figure out which trails you want. From the parking lot, turn right and go up the long staircase. At the top turn left for the falls overlook (trail G2) and right for trail G1. It was not marked when I was there, but after you go a ways down the trail, there are trail markers. You can't really get near the small waterfall, but you can peer at it through the vegetation. My hiking poles were helpful since there were many rocks and roots hidden under the falling leaves which could cause someone to trip. The trails were fine when I was there, but I'll bet they are muddy in the spring. Will definitely come back to explore all the conservation area.

Well marked territory makes walking around a nice experience. Had a nice picnic snack midway through a 5 miles walk about. Lots of neat little sections to explore in one park.

nice walk through the woods. quite a few mosquitoes. it was also a bit muddy in places but not too bad. the stairs to get up to the trail were pretty narrow. the view from the trail of Guppy Falls is heavily obscured by trees.

There's an official trail that hangs right from the main area and goes uphill to an overview of the falls from a ridge. Some people here are commenting on just wading through the creek to reach the foot of the falls, a la Warsaw Falls in Wyoming county. That's a more entertaining, if complicated hike, that's not really contemplated nor official; rocks can be slippery and water can be deep.

Beautiful trail, away from the water. Lookout point for falls. No fees, small parking lot.
