This place really has a different vibe. Its an ancient temple built in the 12th century dedicated to Lord Shiva. The place is surrounded with greenery on all its sides and different flowers can be seen surrounding the temple. A must visit place and also well maintained. Please don’t litter.

A must visit temple. Really well maintained area, surroundings by archeological survey of India. A peaceful and calm place where you can meditate. Nature is in its full bloom during monsoons. The place is in forest and that’s why this temple from 13th century is untouched from invaders.

Amazing place in the centre of nature. We went there from Panjim, and it took us about 1.5 hrs. Out of this, about 45 mins was a drive through thick cover of trees. The temple is archaic and we felt quite peaceful once we reached there. Although, the journey to the temple was even more peaceful. The roads are single lane but with no potholes, so we had no issues driving on them even in heavy rainfall. Food? There a multiple small restaurants they you can find on your way to the temple, but at the temple, there are no restaurants, but small stalls setup by locals. You can find snacks like cookies, chips, etc., or you can also enjoy tea/coffee with pakodas and Maggie. Important to note is there’s no network around that area, so download your maps, and keep enough cash for you local purchase.

It's absolutely beautiful a very well maintained temple beautifully carved out of black basalt rock back in the 12th century. located deep in the Mollem Sanctuary ..the drive or ride to the temple is beautiful..long stretches of just dense forests. There is a Beautiful stream of water flowing right at the entrance of the temple. Also a waterfall around 4kms away. There are few stalls outside the temple serving refreshments ,tender coconut etc The temple is around 65-67kms away from panjim bus stand. You'll find yourself Surrounded by monkeys

Very beautiful small temple. We visited on 10 Jul 21. Temples gates were closed. No entry. Pathway is amazing.. gives you a feeling of hill station. Neat and clean surrounding. Toilets is available for male female but very dirty. The place is surrounded by monkeys. So better keep your hands free. Vehicle parking is available though small. Few small shops for snacks are available. Breath taking view in monsoon. Nearby by river streams are a great escape for taking a dip.

The small ,beautifully stone carved temple is dedicated to lord Shiva, an ancient temple for spiritual beings is mahadev temple located at place called tambdi surla at mollem. The temple was built in 12th century in a place which is away from main settlement of time. There is a ling mounted Inside the inner sanctum of temple a statue( Stone carved) of Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu appears at the sides of the temple and there is a headless nandi in the centre. A flow of river surla nearby🌊 The place is surrounded by monkeys 🐵 there are few snack stalls and vehicle parking 🅿️ is available. Due to pandemic - limited entries at a time inside temple ,mask is compulsory and no videography📽 is allowed inside temple. Amazing experience 🏰⛺🎪

The Tambdi Surla Temple in Goa is believed to date back to the 12th century. Path to this destination is very calming, through the forest area away from city noise. Known for its impressive architecture and historical significance and serene surrounding. Must visit place.

This place truly exudes a unique vibe. It is an ancient temple constructed in the 14th century, devoted to Lord Shiva. The surroundings of the temple are enveloped in lush greenery, with various flowers adorning the area. It is undoubtedly a must-visit destination, impeccably maintained. It's situated in South Goa, it's a little bit away from the usual places, many small tea shops are there for snacks, separate toilet facilities also available for both genders. Kindly refrain from littering the premises.

Lord Shiva’s temple built around 900 years ago. It was a neat n clean place full of greenery. The path to the temple is rocks filled with cement. There were washrooms and few eatable stores available nearby.

This place is a hidden gem in Goa. Many tourists do not even know such place exists in Goa. You will feel an entirely different vibe as soon as you arrive at this place. The temple is around 15kms from Mollem. The road is usual good and less crowdy. We visited during monsoon in the 2nd week of August. The temple is surrounded by lush green lawn and maintained very clean. You can do "Abhisheka" to lord Shiva. The main attraction of the temple is the small river that flows next to the temple. The water is so clean and cold. There are small shops selling flowers, beverages, pakodas and other snacks.

The best time to visit this temple is in the morning and ideally during the Shravan month. Because during and after rainy days the surrounding becomes so beautiful and green. Rainy days add magic to the temple area. You can also trek to the waterfall starting from the left of the main gate. The trail is lovely and trek is not so difficult.

The road is just simply awesome its at the end of a sanctuary please make sure you have ample of petroleum in your tank as there is no petrol pump on the way. The best part is the roads. Make sure you visit during day time and come back during day time the roads might not be safe at night as it runs through jungle.

It is a very beautiful place. The whole area will give you some hill station vibe you will be shocked that this is in goa. But the main thing is please remember - it is quite far from the city - there is almost no network at all in this place so don't trust Google maps or depend too much on your phone. It's better you have a local person helping you The ride to this place is also superb

I had the privilege of visiting the Kadamba Shri Mahadev temple in Goa, and I must say it was a truly remarkable experience. The temple's serene ambiance and stunning architectural details left a lasting impression on me. The intricate carvings and sculptures depicting various mythological stories were awe-inspiring and showcased the skilled craftsmanship of the artisans. The peaceful atmosphere within the temple premises provided a perfect setting for introspection and spiritual contemplation. The temple's significance as a place of devotion and its historical importance added to the sense of reverence that one feels while being there.

Mahadeva Temple, Tambdi Surla is a 12th-century Shaivite temple in the Kadamba style dedicated to Lord Shiva and an active place of Hindu worship. It is an ASI protected Monument of National Importance in Goa. One of the oldest temples in Goa alive after Portugese attack. The temple was built in the Kadamba style from basalt, carried across the mountains from the Deccan plateau and carved by craftsmen. It is considered to be the only specimen of Kadamba architecture in basalt stone preserved and available in Goa. The temple survived untouched due to its remote location in a clearing deep in the forest at the foot of the Western Ghats which surround the site. A beautiful temple and the surroundings. Very peaceful and serene. Please do not litter the place. A must must visit. HIGHLY RECOMMENDABLE.

If one visits Goa, one must visit this mahadev temple in tambdi surla. The temple covered with thick forest with natural beauty throughout your eyesight goes. Peaceful place to visit and enjoy the view of the temple carved from a single stone that too built around 13th century. Amazing marvels of past.

It's a beautiful temple located in middle of the forest. The place clean and well maintained. Inside the temple you will find the statues of other gods and goddesses and Shiva lingam in middle of the temple. It reminds me of the rich cultural heritage of South India. Besides, you will also find Nandi with no head, maybe the damage is done by the foreign Invaders. The temple has a mysterious past.

The temple itself was built in the 12th century. There are some interesting details about the construction itself which has led to debates about the actual origins of the temple. The temple is surrounded by lush green vegetation, and hence maintains a bearable climate throughout the year

This place is very peaceful! Well maintained but tourists are not doing their duty well. The natural beauty of this place is mind blowing. But outside the temple premises, there's a huge heap of plastic bottles, etc. Wish Govt could ban plastic bottles or bags in this area.
