This
office
lacks
communication
and
are
deceiving
when
it
comes
to
their
policy
changes.
They
switched
over
to
Mercy
Health
without
informing
patients
how
that
would
impact
them.
After
having
an
IUD
inserted,
my
doctor
(Dr.
Shawn
Osterholt)
was
typing
his
notes
and
made
a
comment
about
needing
to
list
the
reason
he
placed
the
IUD
as
a
medical
reason
due
to
my
periods,
rather
than
a
contraceptive,
which
is
the
accurate
reason.
This
made
no
sense
to
me,
but
who
am
I
to
argue
with
a
doctor,
especially
since
the
insertion
was
already
complete.
A
few
weeks
later,
I
received
a
bill
in
the
mail
for
over
$1,300.
The
first
time
I
got
an
IUD
at
this
office
in
2018
for
the
same
purpose
and
by
the
same
doctor,
it
was
paid
for
completely
by
my
insurance.
I
called
my
insurance
who
told
me
it
would
be
covered
in
full
again
(under
the
Affordable
Care
Act)
but
the
office
listed
it
as
a
medical
code
rather
than
contraceptive
code.
After
months
of
calling
the
office
without
being
able
to
speak
to
anyone
besides
a
voicemail
and
never
receiving
a
call
back,
I
called
the
billing
department
who
advised
they
are
not
able
to
change
the
code
and
suggest
I
start
an
appeal
with
the
insurance
company.
Apparently,
due
to
them
being
under
Mercy
Health
now,
they
are
not
allowed
to
provide
contraceptives
and
refuse
to
change
the
code
to
reflect
the
reason
patients
receive
an
IUD.
Would
have
been
nice
to
know
before
having
it
inserted.
Time
to
find
a
new
provider.
