This is a great State Park! It is in a great location, not far from the city but out in the country/ farmlands. They have a nice day use area, disc golf course and so much more! We were here for one night and will definitely come back! They have nice and hot showers, electric hook up/ water hook up sites, park rangers are nice- brought my kids a sticker, bathrooms are open, etc.

I love this park. I usually tent camp in the summer but haven't been able to since covid. Last night I rented Yurt here for my first time and it was lovely. Very clean, quiet, and relaxing. Plus my dog was able to join me!

This campground is one of my favorites! The best thing about it is that its close to the city! Its clean and theres lots of space! We have stayed in both loops and both have grassy areas for kids to play and lots of room to ride bikes! The bike trails are also really nice and my kids love the playground! Its also a short bike ride to the winery! Only downside is that some of the campsites can get really muddy if it’s raining!

We loved camping here. We stayed 3 nights in our RV in loop B (by far the best loop). The campground is expansive and surrounded by acres of wild open space. There is a large pet exercise area (probably an acre) next to the visitor parking in B loop. The camp host was friendly and helpful (lots of Dad jokes). You purchase ice and firewood through a ticketing system right there (sort of like a kiosk), hand your ticket to the host and they deliver to your site. It was quiet, located way out in farmland. Would absolutely stay again and recommend.

I have wanted to go to Champoeg for years, and finally went for a wedding. This place is absolutely beautiful. The day we went the weather was amazing and made the park look even more fantastic. People were out taking in all the beauty. I will be planning more family outings in the future.

Good stuff about this State Park, the access to the miles of trail along the Willamette River. In fall it's simply beautiful in fall splendor. Having said that it's lost some of its appeal for cabin or tenting with the coldest showers and uncomfortable cabin beds. Camping in your own trailer is reccomended. Dog friendly and our dog Herbie loves the place.

Clean campground only 10min from Newberg, lots of families with little kids riding bikes and scooters, all the dog owners kept their pets on leashes or in pens, campers were respectful about 10pm quiet times, several trails for walking and biking, we'll stay here again when we want to stay close to home!

Such a beautiful big and clean state park. Entrance fee is $5.00, many picnic areas. Lots of trails to explore and plenty of parking space. There are public restrooms. Great place for boating and kayaking. Went to check their RV park as well while I was there and it’s very nice and spacious.

This is a great place to take a walk. The trails are well groomed and the sights are beautiful! There is a $5 entrance fee to cover our Oregon Stare Parks. Lots of picnic tables, frisbee golf and a dock to launch kayaks from.

Camped out 1 night and was very impressed with the features of the park. All sites are well maintained and ample space between them. Having a designated off-leash area for the dogs was a nice plus. This would be a great place for family camping. Disc golf course, bike trails and beautiful woods.

Love this state park! Many miles of walking and riding trails! B loop is roomier than loop A. We stayed in our RV, so nothing to say about the bathrooms or showers. Very historical location for the state of Oregon. Bring your kids, wonderful memories to be made here!

There isn't a whole lot of camping, but there is a lot more else to do. If you aren't playing frisbee golf, bring a bike or your hiking shoes. There are a lot of trails and history to explore. There really is something for everyone. Including a great natural play park in the campground.

Amazing scene of established trees, natural fruits, berries and foliage. Open fields with grass everywhere. Disc golf course is great! Picnic benches and barbecues nearly everywhere. Thanks rangers for doing a great job!

Great place for a walk. Foraged some mushrooms that I took home and cooked up for dinner. Got 3 miles of walking in beautiful fall day.

Champoeg is a great place to take the littles for bike riding. It has a nice smooth paved path and during the right time of day you can see deer, rabbits and all sorts of bird of prey. We usually use the day area because we live so close. It's very large and I've never felt crowded. The camping area is nice as well. Private enough spaces offering shade and sun at different times of the day. It was relatively quiet even though it was full. No drunken debauchery when we were there over 4th of July.

Great paved trails, great picnic areas. Really liked the giant cedar trees, beautiful river. Good restrooms. Plenty of space. Miles of trails.

This is where it all began. The reason Oregon joined the Union and told McGloughlin to beat it to Vantucky. Nothing remains of the town, it flooded out one too many times, but the old store ran by the Parks Department is pretty neat and is one of the oldest stores in Oregon, apparently.

Had a great weekend at the Champoeg State Park RV Group Site. Even though it rained this large group site is great! The private Meeting Hall was a plus. Will return in the future.

Champoeg is a great place for picnics and day trips. There are multiple areas of the park that offer slightly different environments: Open fields to test out new outdoor gear, a tree grove with frisbee golf , and riverside docks for paddle boarding. Restrooms are flushable in main areas and pit toilets in others. Pit toilets in our experiences have not been the best however it is peak summer season.

Absolutely love this park. Clean, organize, and not too crowded. Will be our new go-to place on weekends.

A beautiful campground with large sites and paved roads. We booked ahead and spent 1 night with our 43ft trailer and had plenty of room. You can buy ice and firewood on site. We wish we could have stayed longer!

Went camping in the group camping area, and although the bathroom was a long way to walk to, it was such a beautiful quiet spot. After we set up or tent, we had a visitor 💕

Champoeg Park is a beautiful place to walk around in the fall. The colors are just amazing! Don't be afraid of the $5 park fee, our Oregon parks are beautiful and need to be maintained! The walk down the boat dock is well worth it when the water is like glass! Definitely worth the drive!

convenient just outside Portland. New play place next to A loop for campers kids. Large park. Great for family bike rides. Lots of Northwest history for those so inclined. Standard OSP dog regs. Some yurts, not all, dogs ok. Standard OSP restrooms, Showers- campers only and locked at night. Many picnic options for all. Group areas reservable

Beautiful state park with a fairly big and open riverside expanse. There's an amazing grove of Oregon White Oaks and lots of Acorn Woodpeckers living in those groves. Lots of paved trails for walking and biking, ample parking everywhere, and clean toilets. Many campsites are exposed and do not have much privacy, but there are some that are in wooded, shrubby areas. There are also a few cabins and yurts. I would try and stay in one of the cabins sometime.

We have been going to Champeog for years! We love when the weather gets nice and we can walk the trails or ride bikes. A little difficult for our 5 year old but there are a few places easy for beginners. I had never been to the visitor center but decided to go this time. It was awesome! My girls got a history lesson and and exercise and loved it. Can't wait to start going more when the weather is nice

Much-loved park, especially on weekends, even in winter. They should open up Loop A for camping on weekends in winter. Yurts, disc golf, and PAVED trails are very popular. Bathhouse showers, in separate rooms, are free but unheated+ have no hooks for towels, clothes, and no shelf in shower for shampoo. Toilets are clean, and there's hand soap, but no way to dry hands, and faucets only have cold water. Read: no shaving.

Very pretty camping area. Some spots a little small for big RVs to back-in to, but some amazing drivers showed others how it's done. Camped here many times 50-60 years ago, fun to come back.

Champoeg, Pier Park and Milo McIver, three Disc Golf courses and parks I couldn’t do without! They are incredible courses showcasing the goloriousness of Oregon, would recommend 10/10, well maintained and proudly kept up!

It's a lush green park with Willamette River frontage & a dock, RV sites w/hookups, tent sites, shady cabins, yurts, wide open spaces, & a disc golf course. Only saw "no swimming" signs; not 100% sure if there is a designated place to swim or not.

Cycled on the bike trails with my kids. The trails are fairly flat so even little people can still enjoy it. It is pretty busy though.

A wonderful park with many walking trails and lots of parking. Very easy to practice social distancing here. The toilets were open and hand sanitizer provided. Don't be surprised by the deer that are not scared of humans.

It's beautiful. First time camping here. Recommended by our daughter in-law who camped here as a child. Since camping was open we thought we'd try somewhere not to far from home. We're very pleased with this location.

I was shocked to discover there was no river/ water access/ a public beach! So you hear and see rich people in motar boats on the water while the poor pleebs like me aren't given access even though it is a PUBLIC/ STATE park on the river! Who designed this? I understand people can be jerks and destroy a beach ruin the water but ... still.

Many places to access the river. You can go straight down the obvious way, or hike a bit through the trees and get some privacy down the way. Our kids had fun. Just make sure to take a good shower after ?

I love this park! My husband and I have spent hours and hours walking in it. And in Summer it's fun to walk or ride bikes to the store for ice cream and checkers but it might be better to wait until next year to do that. Also, the champoeg visitor center is worth checking out any time of year it's clear enough to be out for a walk.
