Cold rainy wet December day .. added more to this visit than it took away. The park was open for easily accessible areas but many spots were fenced off for safety. Entrance was free and yet the park was practically empty. During Covid this was comforting. The first stop was the New York mini “Grand Canyon”. It was breathtaking. Armed with umbrellas snapping photos along cleared defined paths and stone walls gave many photo opportunities. The routes were marked clearly with maps and historical information boards. Driving to the middle and high falls was easily done. Arriving at the picnic /playground /parking area after parking I chose to go to the high falls first. This area has look out coves among the cleared paths and stone walls. The middle falls were a short walk along the banks of the water way. Arriving at the middle falls I was able to get up close and personal in a look out cove. As I watched the furious rolling waters amongst the thunderous mesmerizing roar I felt completely at peace. Backtracking out of the park I saw look out points and a tourist shop. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit .. the park is accessible those with disabilities as you can drive to many points to take in the views. For hikers most of the trails were closed as were many entrances. For safety reason and low traffic at this time of year. There are camping areas , cabins, a restaurant and other options available during high season.

Before you reach the falls at the Letchworth State Park Visitors Center, you encounter this awesome bridge with a set of falls beneath it. Lovely for panoramic photos. There's a section of the park with a beautiful overlook of the bridge and falls together. Stairs take you down to view other parts of the falls downstream. We saw an ad for hot air balloon rides that take off from there, but we didn't see any while we visited. Small refreshment stand and bathroom facilities as well. Hot and buggy on the day we went, but neat if you like waterfalls.

Beautiful weekend trip! The trails to the lower falls were still seasonally closed. There are great trails on the other side of the park also. For a first timer just car hopping from spot to spot let me see most of the park. Beautiful grounds! Amazing waterfalls. Because the ground is all shale you can not go down near the water and there are definite barriers to prevent you from doing so. Some areas you can't see as well as you'd like for safety reasons (lower falls trails and wolf creek waterfall).

You can easily see why this is one of the most beautiful state parks in the entire 🇺🇲. It has great hikes. The middle and upper are fine with kids and elderly folks and you can park and walk from one to the other but the lower falls is a drive then a medium level walk if you're not a regular hiker. The lower falls involves a lot of stairs. It is a carry in carry out park so bring some bags to keep your trash safe till you leave. Cabins looked nice and they have rafting. There are numerous play areas for kids. The views are also breathtaking.

We entered Letchworth State Park from north Park Rd. One day pass was $10. We were given a map which highlighted the scenic views which made it so easy to know where to stop. But to be honest the views did not start till we got to Tea table view. It started getting better and better. Not much water. Till you get to Lower Falls which you would have to hike down to lots of stairs down to the falls. Good to have a hat and sunglasses. The summer sun glare can get strong at points. Is the hike worth it to be honest "no" you only get a glimpse of the lower falls but it was a good moderate exercise. We skipped the middle falls because it was also a hike down. We drove straight to the Upper Falls which is a beautiful site with a train bridge above. A very beautiful view and nice park for picnic and family fun. Lots of rest areas throughout the park for breaks. Overall, my husband and kids loved the park and are really considering camping here soon. There are many trails for hiking.

This park is amazing! It has some of the best breathtaking views and geological dynamics. The waterfalls are spectacular. There is a trail that takes you to a foot bridge. There you are able to view the middle falls. There was over 100 steps to get to the bridge. I would not recommend someone with knee issues going down to the foot bridge. It is a bit hard to follow the map of the park. The Glen Iris Inn is on site. We did not stay there but we did have breakfast. Would highly recommend the breakfast. We stayed at the Pinewood Lodge that is partnered with the Glen Iris. This was a nice cabin like room with easy accessible walking paths to the falls. Would also recommend staying here.

Excellent state park, imagine this is one of the best state parks in the Eastern United States. Did a 6 mile out and hike checking out all three waterfalls- lower, middle and upper falls. Phenomenal views of the massive gorge, river and the waterfalls. The highlight is definitely the massive middle falls, very impressive coming in from Southern New England. Many visitor center buildings and so many more miles of trails to check out. The place is massive and could easily warrant multiple visits. It costs $10 to enter the park.

Absolutely beautiful!! At only $10 a car you can stay and explore for the entire day! 3 waterfalls, great walking and hiking paths. Multiple stores with souvenirs and light food options. Happy to have caught the hot air balloons at dusk too! Must visit location, the Grand Canyon of the East!

Always a really fun place to visit during the winter and summer. Best time to go is in the fall when the leaves change colors and the hot air balloons launch. Great for picnics and hiking but there is no swimming in the water except the pool. TONS of playgrounds, picnic areas, grills, trails, and scenic overlooks. Cost $10 to enter the park in a car but the drive around the park itself is worth the cost.

This state park has beautiful waterfalls, campgrounds, and canyon like formation places as well. There are three decks to the waterfall. Upper, middle, and lower. The entry fee to the park is $10 dollars. There are self pay machines like in many other state parks in NY. You can pay using a credit card. Soon after the entry you can see the bridge and a small parking area. There is a small trail of steps to reach the upper falls viewing point. The trail continues to middle and lower falls also. But those are drivable as well. Middle falls have the best views, bigger parking spaces and more people. The rainbow formations adds to the views of the area. Lower falls is also walkable from middle falls parking area. Drive further from the middle falls parking area, you will reach the canyon area, which looks great as well.

Amazing Park and it was free in the colder months. There's so much to do and see! I could of easily spent a whole weekend here. The waterfalls are amazing and the trail to lowers fall is so worth it, make sure you go. I felt like I was in a lord of the rings movie at lower fall and that stone bridge. I can't wait to go back even if the park is 10 hours away from me and I bet it's amazing in the spring and summer. One of my favorite state parks.

Beautiful park with the tons of scenic views, clean and comfortable picnic areas and relaxing trails. The most popular Gorge Trail runs alongside the gorge, in the shade of the trees, mostly flat. There are only couple of stairs and they are comfortable for going up and down. The trail is designated as “moderate” but - frankly speaking - it is more easy than moderate. So the visitors with the little kids, pets and elderly people can use it for hiking and enjoy it as well as the other tourists. Letchworth State Park is definitely worth a visit!

Amazing view points and great place to hike. There are multiple water falls and good hiking paths available. You could drive around here and stop at all the view points. Have great canyon views. Located around 3 hours from Toronto, we had a good drive to this place. Lots of parking space and there is a $10 USD charge to enter. Keep cash with you. Family friendly park.

Beautiful park with amazing waterfalls views! The hike along the ridge is easy and mostly flat with some ups and downs via stairs, that are well maintained. This is not a moderate hike, as suggested by various trails apps. The views are gorgeous! They also have a cute visitor center that has snacks and souvenirs.

It's called the Grand Canyon of the East for a reason. The views are amazing any time of year but especially for the fall. They have a variety of trails throughout the park, some of them very accessible and some more challenging. The gorge trail is the most sought out with epic views of the falls. There's also the archery overlook which features a picturesque gorge and is very accessible. I've been through most of the trails here and I'm never disappointed. My favorite trail is the footbridge but it's often closed for inclement weather- this has an amazing view of the lower falls. St. Helena is also pretty. The lower falls trail 5 takes you to a scenic spot along the bottom of the gorge and shouldn't be missed!

Letchworth State Park is an absolutely beautiful treasure of New York. The park is the most beautiful park I've ever seen. The campgrounds were different than I expected. No park rangers were checking the campsite throughout my stay (at any point), and I didn't see any park rangers while sightseeing at the waterfalls. The campground was almost entirely made of gravel; this made tent camping difficult and uncomfortable. Most of the families camping used RVs for their shelter. Each camp site is located right next to one another. The amount of space in between each site might make some uncomfortable if you're the type who enjoys privacy. A lot of the camping families have dogs. This can be good or bad, depending if you're a dog lover. However, there were no noisy dogs barking incessantly throughout the night. The bathrooms were clean, and a camp store was located outside the campgrounds. The families I met throughout my stay were amiable and helpful. I picked up some valuable camping tips from seasoned vets! P.S. You can buy firewood outside the park for half the price and double the wood. You can find farmers who have signs posted throughout the area.

Such a beautiful place. Easy to get to from where we were staying. This was our second stop of the day. We went to Niagara falls in the morning and made it here by 3:30. We took our time here and we were pretty much done in 2 hours. You can definitely spend more time here but it was perfect for us winding down our busy morning. We usually take our trip in the fall to look at all the beautiful colors and never get disappointed. Mid October is best time to go in my opinion. Not too cold and national parks are not crowded. Makes it easier to take pictures. Definitely recommend it here. We parked for $10 and were on our way. Stairs up and down wasn't too bad. They also have hot air balloon rides that go on top of the falls. You can make it an all day excursion but I'd recommend doing this as a second stop. Niagara falls 1.5 hours away and Watkins Glen about 1 hour from here.

I can't express how beautiful this park is! The gorge is amazing. The waterfalls are extraordinary with spectacular viewing points. Everything is very well laid out and nicely put together. There is a snack shop, picnic area at the upper fall viewpoint. Lots of hiking trails. There is $10/car fee to enter the park. I would highly recommend visiting and you could easily spend a day here.

This park was a nice surprise. It is not very popular (we met only 4 other tourists) but with great waterfalls. You can have a nice walk here. There are 3 waterfalls - Upper Falls, Middle Falls and the third one which we didn`t find. Public toilets available on site, free of charge.

I am so grateful a friend of mine invited me to join her on a trip to this amazing place. I loved everything about it, from the natural splendor, gorgeous waterfalls, the vastness of the park, the amazing collection of trees, the beautiful stone fences, to how well it is maintained. Everything was impeccable, clean and without any fault. We were lucky to be there in a Monday morning, with very few people around, and we could really get closer to the beauty of the place. We are planning on returning for a longer visit, so we can hike on some of the numerous hiking trails of the park. A truly unforgettable place, which I highly recommend.

I can't express how beautiful this park is! The gorge is amazing. The waterfalls are extraordinary. Everything is very well laid out and nicely put together. The $10/car fee actually seems to go towards the park. I would highly recommend it!

Absolutely gorgeous! Cannot recommend this place enough if you are in the area. So many trails and they are clearly marked. Visitor center is nice, ample information available. We did the gorge trail which overall was pretty easy- there is some increased steepness and steps but you can make it as long or short as you want!

Absolutely beautiful state park! We drove up from PA while on a work assignment and were not disappointed! Pack a lunch and wear good walking shoes. And if you're able, walk the wooded trails! Lots of deer and chipmunks!

Great views everywhere you look! This park would take weeks to fully explore. It reminded me of a miniature Grand Canyon. The Autism trail was fun for our granddaughter. The visitors center was educational. I would love to come back and explore the trails…

Visited during the fall season, and it was definitely worth it. The waterfall and the colors were breathtaking. Both the falls are nearby and a quick 5 min walk from each other. Easily accessible with almost no stairs, my elderly parents had no trouble visiting the 2 waterfalls. There is a $10 fee at the entrance. The park has benches, picnic tables, clean washrooms as well as small food joint.

My husband and I took our camera to take breathtaking photos of Letchworth State Park. It was our 1st time there. It was amazing. The views are amazing. It's like our very own grand canyon. But way more colorful. Going this time of year brings such vivid colors and it's not too hot or too cold. It was a gorgeous sunny day. We can't wait to go again. It also was one of my mom's favorite places to go.

Best place to visit for spend a day or stay in cottage for camping over here and explore the nature. There are 3 beautiful falls view and dam views with many family parks. Specially it’s a great idea to do BBQ over here on the upper water fall grills. But bring your own food nothing much available here’s

Beautiful!! I can see spending much time here, taking in the sights and having lunch. It's nice that there are lookouts that you can just drive up to, but also some that are accessed via a short walk or a hike. The drive through the park itself was beautiful and peaceful when we visited in May. We were short on time and went through a bit quickly (1-2hr), but I can imagine spending the whole day exploring the trails. Definitely worth visiting

Beautiful park tons of trails and so many easy to access overlooks you can easily spend the whole day wondering around. There is also a museum as well as a great nature center with a wonderful sensory trail. Pack a picnic and spend the day tons of tables and grassy areas to sit and enjoy the views and nature.

It is a nice park, with lots of things to do. Staffs are friendly and welcoming. If you are thinking of camping ⛺ you can easily spend a few days without getting bored. One thing you must know is that it is hard to get cell reception there. I could not get any reception, even using Starlink from my campground. So be prepared!

It was pouring a bit but the views were still worth it. The upper and middle view of the waterfall was easily accessible with a car, but there’s also a pathway by the side of the road, and it’s not too bad but there were a lot of bugs. We weren’t able to see any other views or visit anywhere else as the rain got harder but it’s worth the visit. It’s an amazing place and who wouldn’t love to go here to see a beautiful waterfall.

  • 5/5 Rosie M. 6 months ago on Google
This park is a gem. We were there to hike & enjoy the beautiful nature. Many short and long walks and hikes to choose from. Or you can even just enjoy the drive and stop where you can get out and take in the views of the amazing gorge, falls, & foliage. The nature center and placards had interesting educational information. There is also a museum, restaurant/inn, ice cream & gift shop if that is your desire. The restaurant area was very busy with people waiting.

Amazing amazing park! We only did the bottom half with the 3 bigger falls, easily accessible, except the lower falls has lots of stairs down - beautiful and I would love to go back and explore more!

  • 5/5 Sarah H. 5 months ago on Google
I suggest everyone gets to this park asap! This is an amazing place for everyone. Whether your 2 or 100 you’ll be happy you made it here. There are tons of super cool playgrounds for all ages. We only made it to 3…easily could’ve spent an entire day had we stopped and played at everyone we saw. If we had spent a month here, I still don’t think we could’ve properly experienced everything this park has to offer. It’s a truly amazing place. Oh, and only cost $10/car a day. Can’t wait to go back next year, and the years to follow! I’ll never let another Summer pass without coming here!

This park is full of beautiful natural areas, numerous scenic views, hiking trails, camp sites. One of the best park to hike and admire the fall colors. The drive through the park itself was beautiful and peaceful. such a beautiful park. We spent the whole day. Highly recommended

Well worth the trip and exploring all that you can here. Many beautiful overlooks. Easy hikes to Upper and Middle Falls if you park in the lower parking lot between the two. The Lower Falls are seen a little farther away but a neat hike down 127 stone stairs to the stone footbridge across the gorge. More strenuous hikes are available all throughout the park as well. The Nature Center is great for a quick visit with kids of any age and the Museum is fascinating for those more interested in some of the history as well as the skull of a Mastodon found in the area.

This park left an amazing impression on me. It is such a rugged yet beautiful landscape. Unfortunately, with it being the winter season, a lot of the park roads were closed. Being fresh off of hernia surgery, I was limited where I could get to on foot. I can't wait to get back and explore all areas of this treasure. There are at least three waterfalls (lower falls road closed). The middle falls section has several flood lights mounted on the rocks that I'm sure will provide an amazing show at dark. The trail between the middle and upper falls was closed (I assume don't freezing spray).
