The Capital heights location is ghetto and the manager Briani needs to be replaced. Go to Bowie! The speakers do not work and need to be replaced. Because of weight and dance classes, women pay the highest membership dues and are the most disrespected members at this gym as heavy equipment is not returned to racks and delays our classes, people interrupt our classes to come in and get equipment and now they have further reduced our space in addition to the rack of weights located in the rear of the room with cycle storage in the front of the room which could be placed in the rear of the gym not this room. I am seriously thinking about filing a class action gender or sex discrimination lawsuit with member signatures if this issue continues. Complaints to mgmt from members are unresponsive as indicated by less space

Great location. Great gym overall. Staff is always super friendly, helpful, and available. Good variety of equipment. Good number of squat racks. Treadmill always available. Very decent sized sauna. Lost a star because it needs roughly twice as many dumbbells. Hopefully there is a plan in place to bring this number up.

This gym has so much potential, but maybe it might have started getting too crowded because management seems to want to push people out. Cleanliness is extremely neglected and maintenance is nonexistent. They sold all the best and highly used equipment (and parked it outside for months at a time), and replaced it with useless but colorful equipment that NOBODY uses because it is just not a core/functional piece of equipment. You will spend 50% of your time finding the weights and equipment you need because they are literally scattered all over the top and bottom floor. It is incredibly irritating to see such as lack of pride and dignity at this gym. The fact that equipment is not sanitized or put back to a safe location is a health hazard and a lawsuit waiting to happen. Please use active and fit direct and do not get an actual membership to this gym. I also have Active and Fit, and they had to renew on their system once a year. It took 8 months for someone to actually do that which led to wasted time every time I checked in. If you want to support a Black-owned franchise gym, go somewhere else. General manager Brian, you are a joke.

One of the best gym in DMV. It’s open 24 hours! I drive 20-25 minutes just to come and workout here. They are always working on improving this gym with new machines. It is very clean and the people that workout here are very friendly. They have all types of cardio machines! They have some of the machines that I have not seen in other gyms. Trust me, I have atleast 7-8 gym membership. They have posing room as well which is very rare to find in any gym. They have a really nice bike class room. They have ropes in the middle of the gym, if you would like to climb the rope. They also have outdoor gym with weights outside. The plates are mostly metal, so if you like the metal sound when you lift the place. I highly recommend coming here to workout. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves to lift weights. I come here a lot, it’s one of my comfort place to be in. 10/10 ⭐️

I live 5 minutes from this gym and I canceled my membership There are no standards at this establishment. You have independent trainers that hog the equipment with their clients. Seen a dude walking around with his shirt off which is unsanitary. Weights are all over the place while the front desk does nothing. People blocking equipment while they are filming themselves. I now go the Golds Gym near my job in Springfield Va. Its like night and day. Weights are properly racked, and no independent trainers.

I was in here yesterday morning and a dust pan was in the middle floor with pieces of paper towels on the floor next to it. The sauna is in need of repairs in major and clean up or revamping of the cleanup/maintenance crew. When I walked in there wasn’t anyone around. A hour and a half to 2 hours later when I was leaving there wasn’t there either. Also the green butterfly equipment seemed out of place and low quality.

Definitely pros and cons. I like the equipment selection. Unfortunately; several of the machines I started using frequently were sold without notice. This happens often. You never know when or which equipment will be sold. My biggest issue with this gym is spacing. Much of the ab equipment was previously upstairs. That space is now occupied by a mat and a couple stretching machines that no one uses. The ab equipment was moved downstairs and now shares a space with a personal training session. Half of that room is blocked off for the session and members are unable to use the equipment on that side of the gym Monday-Thu starting at 5pm. The rearranging of the equipment was impractical and I’ve reached out to express my concern to no avail. I highly recommend putting the ab equipment back where it was so members can use the equipment they’re paying for. Finally the gym is wholly unorganized. Pretty hard to navigate because there is no rhyme or reason as to why most of the equipment is located where it is. I do like the spirit of the members. Several members are serious about their health and fitness and that’s exciting to see. One final con, there is no Women’s only space as advertised. If you live in the area, It’s definitely better than Planet Fitness, but I can’t say I recommend a membership here. If you have the extra money, I’d recommend LA fitness Lanham. Much more organized gym and you have daily access to all the equipment and amenities you’re paying for.

Great on equipment. Might be worst on member accountability. Weights are never in their place, even on non busy days. I went to another Gold's and they have a sign, re rack weights or membership cancelled or suspended. Managers at this gym need to take action. Also, they almost always play rap, which is why I had to start wearing headphones. I can tolerate some rap but not the whole time I'm in the gym! Mix it up! Update. 7/8/23 Now they allow loudspeakers on the gym floor. That's what the girl at the front desk told me. I started wearing earphones to drown out the music the club plays. I can't drown out a loudspeaker/boom box next to me. Seriously about to cancel.

Great selection of equipment for anyone that is serious about lifting. With that being the case one has to mitigate all the negatives that comes with it. The worst of these are the folks that treat the gym like their personal workout space moving weights and not putting them back reserving equipment by putting personal items on them while they workout elsewhere in the gym. If you've been going to gyms for a while you will know how to work around these few undesirables that are a disgrace to gym culture. This gym provides you with enough equipment and space to go about doing so. That will always be a positive in my book.

Great gym. Clean and High energy atmosphere. Lots of variations of equipment that allow you to isolate muscle groups. The members are dedicated and serious about their workout. If your idea of working out is sitting on equipment taking long breaks, not wanting others to use the equipment while you're on it, taking selfies or talking on your phone...this isn't the gym for you. If fitness is a lifestyle for you, this is the gym for you.

This gym can be intimidating at first due to the amount of people and the equipment but if you keep coming everyone is super helpful and friendly. I have other gym memberships but really need to cancel them since my time is basically spent at Gold’s Gym.

I've been a member of Golds Gym since 2018. As an organization in the fitness industry, Golds Gym has to be at the top. Golds Gym Ritchie Station is my local gym location, and as one of my extra curriculum or recreational activities I honestly appreciate the services provided. Great equipment, great staff and amenities.

I called Gold’s to try and downgrade my membership and got mixed responses about being able to do it over the phone, to it has to be done inside the gym, to a manager has to do it. In December 2023, a front desk employee downgraded it to a basic membership (at least I thought so). I signed for a new agreement and signed multiple times on their signature pad. January 2024 comes and I’m charged $33.99. The next day I ask a front desk attendant about the issue and they say they don’t know and that I have to talk to a manager. To my surprise a manager reached out to me on 1/15/24. She said her name is Brittany and she was filling in from the Crofton location and that was her last day at Ritchie location (she was very apologetic and professional about the issue). She said they were missing an account actions form to be signed and that she would leave it for me to sign upon my next visit. She also stated that the good thing was it would be handled before the next billing occurred and she would put a $10 credit on my account. The next time I went to the gym I asked the front desk employee about the form that was left for me and he said ‘oh I don’t know where it could be I haven’t been here in a few days’. I stand there dumbfounded because he didn’t even budge to look around. I tell him don’t worry about it. The next morning I asked the front desk employee about a paper for me and she walks right over and retrieves my form. The form had a handwritten note about the $10 credit as well. I sign it thinking finally the issue is resolved (at least I thought so). It’s now February and once again I’m billed $33.99. Horrible service for a 9 year member!

It’s a great facility. I like all the zones and equipment. The maintenance is top notch and very clean. I like that they are upgrading equipment on a more regular basis, and servicing broken equipment sooner. Management is on point.

I enjoy my time at Gold's. Some front desk staff are friendly and greet me when I enter. My trainer Rell (TGF) is THE BEST TRAINER EVER! The patrons stay to themselves when working out, it's beautiful to see so many focused on self improvement. Lastly, the gym, locker room and bathrooms are clean. Keep up the good work, Gold's.

I have enjoyed my time at Gold’s Ritchie Station my 2 complaints are the men’s room. We’ve been having issues with the urinals and it’s to the point where both of them are out of service at the same time. And then the water station. The drop down filler has been off for like 2 months it’s an inconvenience that should be addressed.

I’ve been going to this gym for 15 years. I love it. It is my place of peace. Not only do they have tons of equipment, but also loads of classes, an amazing staff, and a very neat and organize workout space. Keep up the good work BG

I've been going to Gold's for a while and they have great equipment and the morning crowd is awesome. My issue with this gym is cleanliness and safety. The women's locker room always smells awful and doesn't seemed to be cleaned or sanitized enough. My biggest issue is folks using and then leaving weights laying on the floor all over the place which creates a hazzard. Rarely do I see people reracking weights and I know that's hard to control. However, the staff never seem to help with that. I know it may be a pain but it would be nice if the staff could periodically walk the gym to re-rack weights to make them available and accessible to others and move weights out the way to make it safer. I also rarely see folks wiping down the machines after use. Instead of the spray bottles and paper towels, perhaps you can provide sanitizing wipes stations like the Gold's at Riverdale Park. That may encourage folks to wipe down the machine's to help decrease the spread of germs.

The staff sucks. It's easy to get enrolled in golds gym and any staff member can do it. But you need to see a manager in person to even request a cancellation. And even if there are managers present and available, they want to give you the run around and tell you to come back. Oh and let's not mention being charged for months you haven't even been to the gym. Including this one. Staff sucks. Work out at home. Thanks

Motivating environment. Friendly gym-goers; almost like family. Front desk staff welcoming and pleasant…especially the lady with the funky lip colors. Cleaning crew does an incredible job of keeping the gym spotless AND I see them re-racking weights, though they shouldn’t have to. I love it there.
