Top notch selection of craft beers in DC. Also one of the most extensive whiskey/ bourbon catalogs around. Atmosphere is good, and the food comes through. The homemade tots are a must have. Great location on 14th st close to Logan circle. Stop and have a beer or two.

Walking up to the chalkboard signage propped directly infront of this black and brick fortress, I was prepared to be greeted by your run of the mill, New-American watering hole. What I came to find once I walked up those hallowed steps was a dimly lit leather sanctuary that would quickly become one of my favorite beer and bourbon bars I've ever had the pleasure of visiting. The ambiance alone is enough to keep you coming back - you can tell they put a lot of effort into finding just the right lighting with just the right accents to fine tune your brain for booze consumption. Let me stop dancing around the main point here - ChurchKey's beer list rivals the best I've ever seen. This may sound hyperbolic, and maybe it is, but having been exposed to world class beer bars across the States I feel my barometer is calibrated to appreciate what this place is trying to accomplish. Anytime you have fresh IPAs from Fidens/Monkish/Other Half in the same vicinity as Side Project white labels and rare Cantillon lambics, you know you've fallen into a honey hole. The bourbon list, though not as extensive as their beer offerings, is perfectly curated with many top tier choices. Anywhere from a Weller Antique 107 to a Michter's 20 - they truly have an incredible lineup of brown water. I can't really comment on the food as my trip was all business (alcohol only), but from what I could tell they're no slouches on the grub they serve up here. If you are a lover of beer or bourbon or even just want a nice pint of your go-to sauce, you need to go to Church.

Insane craft beer menu! This place is the bomb - incredible menu of beers on tap and in the fridge. Awesome ambiance. We’ll just have to keep coming back to get through the menu 🍻

During a week-long trip in DC, I spent most, if not all of my evenings at ChurchKey. As a craft beer aficionado, this is pretty much a mecca when it comes to beer and their selection is hard to match. You may wonder what's so special about this place and let me tell you straight up that it is their beer. There's little point is coming for wine, or cocktails (although they're not bad at all!) but really what sticks out is their craft beer. They have 50 taps and 500+ of bottles available as well as 5 rotating casks. It's hard to beat. My wife and I got to know the staff really well after a few trips there and they were all super friendly, knowledgeable and they made our experiences there very memorable. I cannot wait to return for many more trips when in town. One pro tip I recommend to everyone is to ask for their master beer list known as "The Bible" which is frequently updated and will allow you to figure out what's available since their selection is so extensive.

Awesome tap list! Waited a good 30 minutes seated at the bar before I got a drink. Everyone's pours were very foamy.

Had a great time recently with friends on a Sunday for brunch at this place. We sat by the huge windows they have overlooking the street for a nice view. The food was delicious, I got the breakfast hash, my friends got the seasonal flat bread and the chicken and waffles, and we all loved our food! We also split an order of the donuts which was totally worth it for the sauce that comes with. Will definitely be going back here probably in the evening as they had a decent selection of drinks as well.

Great craft beer bar, knowledgeable bar staff, 50 beers on tap, wish they had less national/big craft beers on tap and more local. Extensive beer bottle list with hard to find beers, especially good Belgium beer selection. Fast friendly service, hard to notice from the street. Definitely recommend a visit if you love beer.

This is an awesome bar that's very inviting. The staff are very courteous. The menu has some excellent choices in a variety of types of food (their seasonal buttersquash pizza was delish!). And they have a fantastic bar! They actually had Blantons available for a fantastic price. We went there twice this week.

Great place to get decent craft beer. Solid range of beers from the surrounding region and a good variety of styles. We had some bar snacks and the portions were generous. Service was super friendly if a little slow with one person serving quite a few guests.

I would have given this place 5 stars for the service and atmosphere but the drinks were very disappointing. I got the spicy margarita, it was not spicy at all and I'm pretty sure it was supposed to come with a salt or chili salt rim.

Enjoyable place to have a drink and some light food. The charcuterie and cheese boards are really good, although maybe a tiny bit pricey. Cocktails are delicious but also a tiny bit pricey. Overall a good venue with a wide drink selection and good bar food.

Great beer selection but they had quite a few beers that were on the menu but were not available. I totally understand it’s difficult to update large beer menus consistently. I’ve been there too. Not a negative. Just a warning to others looking for beers. Food was good as well. The bar staff were semi-knowledgeable about the beers and that was ok. Not a negative, but I wasn’t able to dive too deep into asking questions about the beers. Again, not a negative for me, but if I didn’t know about beer it might be difficult to know about some of the beers on the menu.

Do you like good craft beer? Well if you’re in DC’s Logan Circle neighborhood you definitely need to check this place out. It has a massive beer selection with something for every taste. From awesome DIPA and everything in between. Also we had the tater tots and the cauliflower bites… and they were incredibly delicious. Also, a super cool vibe inside with plenty of seating. A must see if you enjoy great beer.

I love churchkey but the service here needs improvement. I’ve been twice since they reopened with the latest being a Saturday night around 11:30. Busy but not crazy. Was able to find a seat at the bar. After I sat down it took at least 5 minutes just to get a bartender to acknowledge me. Was handed food and drink menus. After that probably another 5 minutes to get my order in. I thought it was weird that the bartender didn’t provide water when I sat down. I feel that it’s customary to do so at a bar as so not to make people drunk quickly. After I ordered my second drink I placed an order for food as well and was told the kitchen closed at midnight. That would have been helpful to know as I got there at almost quarter til so that was annoying. Shortly before I left there was also a guy at the bar who was passed out and one of the bartenders slammed a bottle really hard on the counter to wake him up and I thought that was kind of unnecessary. All in all, definitely a craft beer Mecca but just keep in mind service can be kinda spotty. (P.S.- they made the place brighter after they reopened so you can actually see going up that long flight of stairs and the menu once you’re inside!)

We sat upstairs and it had a better vibe. It does have the same menu as downstairs. There were regular booths, high booths, and bar, tables. Good water. Nice decor. Great atmosphere. We ordered the tator tots - good flavor, wish more crispy on the outside like a thicker layer of it, more like mashed potato inside, salty but not too salty. The chicken and waffles were good but not my favorite. They probably just weren't my flavor profile I like. My husband loved them. The music was loud but not too loud. There were TV's at the bar. A great place to go hang out and have some grub.

Loved this place. Lot's of good beers. Great bartenders and service. I didn't get to try the food this trip.

by far the best tap list in DC. they offer dozens of excellent beers some of which can be almost impossible to find outside of the breweries themselves.

You seat yourself but there is wait staff for the table. The cocktails are incredible, the beer list is extensive, and the food was good for the most part. My favorite bite was probably the fish & chips. Service was friendly, but could be more attentive. I would definitely recommend this place for the beer lover in your life.

It's labor day weekend and I will put a caveat in the review about this. However, we were greeted by the hostess at the door with "upstairs will be better for the kid" without even asking us what we would prefer. Upstairs there was a large wedding party and one server in the whole area. The waitress was doing her best so this is no reflection of her. She did come over and greet us, but after 25 minutes of sitting without another touch point, we did get up and leave. We won't be back after this experience unfortunately.

Saw this restaurant on a TV show and really enjoyed coming here. The espresso martini was very good and the food was delicious. My husband ordered the chicken sandwich and I ordered the Italian sandwich... The included fries were also yummy!

Great craft beer selection. If you love toasty flavors, then I highly recommend getting the Harviestein Old Engine Oil beer imported from Scotland. It’s delicious and the after taste is great!

First come first serve seating and you seat yourself (no reservations for the bar area). The only windows are toward the front of the building, and the lighting is dim and makes for a pleasantly moody atmosphere. Not a lot of fabrics or sound dampening, so it can get a little loud just from people’s conversation. Large and good selection of beers, and the food was excellent. The beers all seemed a little on the sweet side for our personal taste, but they offered the option to try a sip before you commit, and also have small and large pours which makes it easy to try a lot of things. Even though they were very busy, our server was attentive and prompt.

For any beer connaisseurs! 50 drafts and 200 bottles offered. Most, if not all, microbrews or imported. Looking to try a few microbrews, check out this location.

Great beer selection, but the service was very slow. They were not very busy, but our waitress still rarely came around, and appeared to just be chatting with the bartenders most of the time we were there. When we received our food (from one of the kitchen staff, not our waitress), we had already finished our beers and our water glasses were empty, but she never came back to check on how our food was, offer us more water, or ask if we wanted to order another drink until we had already finished our entire pizza.

As comprehensive as a beer selection as your gonna get east of the Mississippi. Staff all know their beers really well and whatever is on rotation is always a pleasant surprise.
