This coffee shop is in a super cute area with a very photogenic park right across the street! I got a dirty chai latte, and really liked it. I also feel like it’s a good price for the size. I didn’t try any of the food, but the menu looks pretty good. There’s also an area upstairs with tables to work and hangout. Service is friendly, too!

Lot 38 is easily the best coffee shop in DC. I’ve lived in DC for almost 2 years and have been to a ton of coffee shops including slipstream, tatte, Starbucks, blue bottle, compass, and a ton of others and while all of them are good nothing tops lot 38. The coffee is made EXACTLY how you want it every single time, the food is incredible, and the best part about this place is the staff. They care so much about what you want and make sure to get it right every single time, and if something isn’t too your liking they’ll fix it for you right on the spot. (Even though mistakes are hardly ever made at this place). There’s also a very cool little upstairs area where you can sit and work or just enjoy your breakfast/coffee. I absolutely love lot 38 and probably come to this place too much lol, but I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone.

Good coffee, but they do not operste with any difference between the cappuccino and the latte. We ordered one of each, and they were the same. Same amount of milk and same foam. We tried the pastries, and they were really good!

The breakfast sandwiches are tasty, filling, and perfectly portioned (not so big as to last three meals, but exactly right for a breakfast). McDonald's breakfast sandwiches dream of being these!! The environment is cozy, cute. Service is fast. Coffee is pretty good. Prices are affordable. All around, great staple.

Fantastic coffee and good food at reasonable prices. Great service too. I highly recommend and will be going back. EDIT: I went back for a second time and the coffee is even better than the first time. It seems to be family owned, the man making drinks knows a lot of people’s names and is so friendly. They make an amazing white mocha latte that’s way better than Starbucks!!!

They have Illy coffee beans, a top-notch espresso machine, and great hand-made breakfast and lunch sandwiches. Walk by the nearby corporate places and get great espresso or great coffee and fresh food.

The cinnamon coffee cake was a bomb! Taste so good and very reasonable price for the huge size. Coffee latte was ok.

Nice affordable lunch spot in DC near the Navy Yard. Made to order sandwiches. Grilled Chicken Pesto Panini is my go to. Quality food and good service. Great place for espresso if you want something better than Starbucks.

Lot 38 Espresso Bar is a great choice for coffee in Navy Yard. The Mom & Pop shop is a very welcoming and even has areas upstairs to hang out, drink coffee, and/or work. The price for a large (20oz) latte or cappuccino is better than the smallest, cheapest drinks at other coffee shops. The Cappuccino Viennese showcased the high quality of the espresso. I cannot recommend this place enough over chains like Starbucks, Dunkin’, Compass, Gregory’s, etc.

This place is hands down my favorite coffee shop in Navy Yard. The sausage egg and cheese is so good and the iced oat milk lattes are fire. Icing on top is the owners (and staff) are so incredibly nice!! The amount of times he has offered to bring my order outside for me because I have my dog with me is more than I can count. They’re the BEST!

Super cute family-run café serving well made coffee, pastries, sandwiches and weekly specials. Their vibe is friendly and efficient. Added bonus is the awesome upstairs space that’s rarely super packed.

Loved this spot!! Their breakfast sandwich & lattes were perfect. The latte was definitely the best in that area (in my opinion). The staff was so friendly (seemed family owned & ran). They were so nice to me and my toddler. In my way out, they went out of their way to hold the door, each time (I was carrying breakfast, diaper bag, and pushing a stroller). They had orders and customers, yet they stopped and held the door out of pure kindness. I know that is considered common courtesy, but it's rare, so I have to mention it.

The owners are great! The coffee and breakfast sandwiches are great too. The lunch sandwiches (especially chicken banh mi) are quite good too. I’ve loved going to this place for years and will continue to go so long as I’m working in the Navy Yard area. It’s by far the best option for great coffee and espresso drinks in the neighborhood.

I am SO happy this awesome little restaurant survived the pandemic! I hadn't been there in over 2 1/2 years but the food is still incredible! 5+ stars for the Chicken Bahn Mi sandwich!!!

I was visiting Washington DC and I found this place. I ordered a latte which it was AMAZING!!! The coffee is so delicious. I also ordered a caprese and a turkey sandwich. They were so good, tasty and well done. The place is cozy and clean. The staff is so kind and friendly. I will definitely go back when I travel to DC again.

I work nearby to this amazing, independent coffee shop. I am actually not a coffee drinker, but all of my coworkers love this place so I go weekly for tea or a breakfast sandwich (the chai lattes are amazing and spicy!! not sweet like some). They also have a nice assortment of cold drinks...sparking waters, San Pellegrinos, craft sodas, and juices. Always the same people working, always friendly, and always tasty! Although a small spot, there are quite a few tables available on the second floor for anyone who wants to eat there instead of "grab and go" like the majority do. This place is a little hidden compared to other coffee spots in Navy Yard, but worth the explore!
