I am a black female who went to this place for severe pain in my back and hip. What I witnessed in the ER waiting room was atrocious! Nasty dirty floors that were sticky, people of other races being called before my color and Patty the overnight "Charge nurse came out after I asked to speak to someone after a 3 to four hour wait talked, no, came out yelling at me asking me if I was a nurse and did I triage the patients. I calmly asked her to stop raising her voice at me because I was not yelling at her. Then I commented that next time I would go to Shady Grove and was told I was threatening them by another white nurse that was with her. This happened after a white woman asked to talk to someone and she used the "f" bomb over 4 times, was yelling and they only told her to stop cursing and she would be seen. When they put me in the room, I could not believe my eyes! This is supposed to be the most sanitary place where people go to get help. I now see why it takes them to see my color of people so long, because they put us in the most disgusting rooms! I was not willing to touch anything and I went to the nurses station to tell them I was not touching anything in that room and a white male nurse or whatever he was said, "Well Buenos noches!" There also was a young black teen who came in with dog bites and bleeding all over yet they made her wait in the waiting room writhing in pain and covered in blood. They did not even bother to clean the bloody footprints leading to the back. Two hours later they were still there! I did not see one housekeeper in the waiting room in the 3-4 hours I was there, yet they had caution signs up as if the floor had been mopped! A black man carried his small frail very elderly mother in and they made him put her in a wheelchair as she couldn't breathe and was coughing up her lungs and she kept crying in pain telling them she was going to throw up and they did not even provide her with anything to throw up in! They made her wait coughing with no mask until they got her information, yet they were taking others straight back. Let the pictures speak for themselves. This is where they put me after the long wait. I decided I would be safer going to Shady Grove the next day! DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL IF YOU WANT TO LIVE! About 9 months ago a friend went to their ER because he, a black man, couldn't breathe and 14 days later he was dead at 34 and never came back out alive and it was NOT COVID related! They need to be shut down! I will be in touch with the health department! ITS SAD AND A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT AND THE MOST AWFUL HOSPITAL I HAVE EVER BEEN IN SO BE WARNED! THE RATING SPEAKS FOR ITSELF! And the security guard allows homeless people to sleep in the waiting room at night. He even spoke to him as if it was the norm! Ridiculous! Shame on HOLY CROSS GERMANTOWN, MD!🤬

Hospital is an amorphous entity greeting you upon admission and wishing you well upon discharge. There is a bit of a magic cooking inside ORs by all these adjunct / tenure / guest professors. Regrettably, you are, most likely, going to miss it entirely while deeply sedated. :( It is the hospital that wakes you up and steadily walks you towards the exit on your discharge date. That's where its amorphousness ends. The hospital materializes into voices and hands, noises and signals. It becomes a well thought-though, tuned and oiled machine for making you well, whether you like it or not. :) Hands and voices have names: Martha, Jessica, Maribel and Kim (and many-many more). Day-by-day you become more confident hearing, welcoming those voices. However, there are other voices: one is responding to Anunciata. This day-mare will haunt you till the end of ... her shift. It's always good to be back home, especially by Christmas. Looking backwards provides you with a perspective: in case of emergency there is that one last resort called Hospital. God forbid ... ----------------------------------------- The Hospital responded oddly: "Our staff is committed to excellence in patient care, and they go above and beyond to prove it every day." Duh, isn't that the reason we entrusted you with our health?

I wish I could give this hospital negative 5 stars. The attitude of some of these nurses is unbelievably unacceptable. They act like you’re bothering them for asking for help.. IV machine beeps and they take their sweet time to cut it off. They don’t move with a sense of urgency. The nurses and techs don’t get along with each other. The communication is ridiculous. I had to stay a few nights. If you’re depending on the hospital to feed you, you’re in for a rude awakening. They hand you a menu and show you how to put in a order for food.. not only do it take more than two hours for your food to arrive but they always mess up your order and sometimes they’ll forget to deliver your meal leaving you to fast as you starve. I’ve been to many hospitals and this hospital is by far a complete circus… DO NOT COME HERE! RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!!!

Unfortunately we have to click on the star to open up the comment line. Most careless medical staff I’ve ever seen. Bunch of robots sitting at the emergency room, rude, stone face with no passion and empathy to care at all!!! The entire Staff, nurse and Dr. We were in extreme pain with eye infection/coronial virus the Dr. Refused to put the damn drop to calm us down while 911 dropped us off, until the rooms open up. I’m seeking lawyer advise on the comment and refusal for treatment while the patient is concern about loss of vision and in extreme pain. We asked for a water, a nurse looked back and said someone needs to bring it to you!!!! (😳😳) we waited she did not care to page someone to provide a cup of plain water. Please save yourself and loved ones and Do NOT walk into this emergency hospital. You can feel the discouragement and negativity in the place. The U.S medical system is going under the ground and thanks to Holy Cross of Germantown for advocating this path!!!

I typically don’t write reviews for any services rendered however this experience has been and continues to be absolutely ridiculous! We entered the emergency department at 10pm this evening. The waiting room consisted of 2 other people. Only two! We were placed in a room rapidly (45 minutes after check in) it is currently 2:51am and we have not seen ONE nurse or doctor! Not ONE person has come in to see if my husband is ok, in pain, comfortable. Not ONE PERSON has come in to reassure us, apologize… NOTHING! FIVE HOURS OF ABSOLUTE SILENCE! He’s not hooked up to any fluids! He hasn’t been offered water! The rest room NOTHING! I was told they have one doctor in the facility who is completely overwhelmed. Is this not the EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT? We are obviously here because we are in crisis. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WOULD I EVER RECOMMEND ANYONE COME TO THIS MORGE (I mean hospital)

Wow please don’t come to this hospital if you can avoid it. My mother fell coming out of her house and was brought to this hospital via ambulance by 10:30 -10:45ish, I live in PG county it took me about an hour to get to her. When I got to her they had her sitting in the waiting area for close to an hour by that point. By 12:30 they called her to have X-rays taken. We waited approximately another 2 hours, when we were getting close to the 4 hour total waiting time, I went up to the receptionist and just let her know I wanted to sign whatever documents necessary to take her somewhere else. The receptionist said ok, she just needed to go to the back and let them know she was getting ready to leave, only to come back and tell me the provider was ready to see her. Huh? There was a lady there with a very similar injury to my mother that day, (she had arrived about 30 minutes before) she same thing waiting, X-rays, waiting. However, something interesting happened, a patient liaison came over to her to ask her if she was going to be able to make any payment towards her visit today. BEFORE A PROVIDER HAD EVEN SEEN HER!!! After small talk with the lady, she lets me know she is uninsured, and that might be why her wait was so long. My mother is finally discharged and I will admit the discharge nurse was nice and talk us through everything as she walked us out. I bring my mother home and go pick up her medication only to be told that the pharmacy has been trying to get a hold of the er doctor because their DEA number is expired. Just please beware

DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL NO MATTER WHAT! You might just pay with your life. That is how bad the service is. That is how much they don’t care about you dead or alive. PLEASE Please don’t go here for emergencies. They were happy and willing to let me pass out in the front lobby. Thankfully, I didn’t, cause that would have been it. And don’t call 911 for ambulance. Have somebody speed you to a hospital because the paramedics don’t care about you either.

Rating for L&D. They were not my favorite hospital for delivery. Highly suggest you take a tour BEFORE showing up for labor. If pain management options like showers, walking the hallways, laughing gas, are important to you while laboring, you will not find them here. The waiting area is super small but looks like every L&D waiting area in the immediate area, they definitely aren't winning awards there. LoL The rooms are fairly big, but when you are ONLY allowed to walk in the room to get labor progressing, the room quickly feels small and ineffective. Plenty of parking, you don't need a ticket to park. The parking lot is an open lot vs parking garage, so be prepared in regards to the weather and walking through the parking lot. Overall, I wouldn't go there again to have a baby.

Recently, I suffered a head injury with bleeding and subsequently visited the emergency room. The service at the front desk was unsatisfactory. After a two-hour wait, a doctor examined my injury in the waiting area and recommended a CT scan, but did not clean the wound. Thirty minutes later, I opted to discharge myself. Before leaving, I was asked to sign a document acknowledging my refusal of the CT scan. In the nursing room, a nurse cleaned my injury with a wet pad before I signed additional paperwork. Two weeks later, I received a bill for $1,200. The services rendered do not seem commensurate with the $1,200 charge. I am struggling to understand the justification for this cost. The hospital's services and billing practices are unsatisfactory.

If you are thinking of bringing your child into this ER, DONT. The ER staff are not trained or equipped to deal with babies. Without going into to much personal health details. We brought out 8 month son here, they worked with him for about 5 hours each time giving us no information about what the care plan was. We did not even see a doctor into hour 3, all while our son had difficulties to breathe. Finally after demanding an action plan from staff, they gave us the option of transferring to children's national. When the transport crew from children's arrived was the first time we could take a sigh of relief. That crew did more for him in a matter of 20 minutes as they prepped him for transport then the previous 5 hours at Holy Cross. On top of this all the staff was extremely unprofessional, often arguing in front of us over silly things like standing too close to one another, and the state of cleanliness was TERRIBLE. I would compare it to a poorly maintained rest stop. Never going to this hospital again.

When you turn 65 and navigate the transition to Medicare, that can be daunting. The same is true with your first life threatening illness and surgery. My wife and I ended up at Holy Cross Germantown after two ER admissions, one at Shady Grove, the other here. Both ER experiences (GEC and here) were top notch, but I am glad we ended up here for surgery. A prayer over the intercom in the morning and at night, individual rooms, a more conservative treatment plan, better communication despite a plethora of accents to the English language (both places) made the experience much more tolerable. Our outcome looks good but I think I would post this review even if things turned out different.

Unfortunately these reviews are true. I will not go into detail of my family's experience here, because that is our private health information, here's the high lights. The ED MD man-handled my mother who was in pain (shoving her face to the side with no warning to 'check' her ears), and argued with my little sister about getting my mother the scans she needed to figure out if she was in danger or not. Once I am able to get off from work and arrive there in my scrubs, Oh! Right away let's go get you your scan! While she's getting that I go and ask around for the provider on duty, to give me report of what he's tried and why he isn't taking her situation more seriously. 'Oh, yeah, we'll get him for you right away' several walk arounds looking for him and 2 hours later, I go outside for some air, immediately I get a text from my sister that says moms being discharged. I come back in and ask if I can speak with the provider, all of the nurses and mas crowd me, clearly covering for him. My family had been through enough, and we decided to go home. If you have the audacity to treat people so poorly, or rather, not treat them at all, you could at least have the stones to pick on someone your own size, coward. This hospital has been such a severe disappointment in our community.

Went to the ER to bring my sister for dehydration due to severe nausea and vomiting asstd with Covid. Nurse had an attitude and have no empathy and time to explain what’s going on; waited for hours for doctor to see me and after hours and a liter of IV, was sent home with prescriptions without even being seen by the ER doc. Have not heard of a doctor prescribing medicine without seeing the patient. That just showed u the quality of patient care this hospital delivers. Never would we go back to this hospital even if this is the closest to my home!

I have never had any problems with this hospital they have always been above and beyond with professional service every now and then the very first person you see at the front desk sometimes depending on who’s sitting at that desk maybe a little unfriendly or snappy otherwise, medically and professionally l have Always received great care at this hospital!! I can’t believe people want to rate it otherwise. The service in the emergency room has been quick it’s clean these are all the things that is important to me‼️. You should bring your own blanket etc take you babies to children’s pediatric hospitals that specialize in children geez🤦‍♀️🤔 I hope this hospital can get better ratings 👍 from more grateful people that come their for your service!!

Ladies avoid this hospital at all costs. I have had horrible experiences every single time I have gone here. Most recently I was left in a room alone with not even a nurse to check on me with a kidney stone. I ended up passing it unmedicated in the bathroom cup they gave me for a urine sample. Not checked on once. Had to beg for just WATER. Wasted over 3 hours in the ER when I could have just passed it in the comfort of my home. Thank God it was only a kidney stone. This hospital would have straight up let me die. Do not trust these people in a life threatening situation if you are a woman especially. They will not take your pain seriously. Second the labor and delivery unit is awful. I had two children here and was treated terribly by the nursing staff. They have no empathy and mock patients. Do not give birth at this hospital. Protect yourself ladies and go somewhere else. You will not be treated well and your pain will be brushed off.

I can’t say everyone work there are bad people. But it goes 50/50.. I have a loved one in that hospital some of the nurses are horrible! My dad had to get on his bed we called a nurse after one whole hour no one came in and he had to use the bathroom I had to go find a nurse to help him. That nurse took her time walking… they have no sympathy some nurses say that they are short on people while some says they have a lot of people. Just very concerning. If you have any loved ones in that hospital I suggest that you put a hidden camera in the room. Even after my dad call a nurse one showed up. They found my dad on the floor even though they got the alarm on his bed. And some of their attitude is very horrible! Not helpful at all, some of them are working in there are working just for the money they won’t care about your loved ones. Only few that care and it’s rare. And no one called to inform us that my dad fell on the floor we found it out through a physician because she said “ we don’t want you to fall again.” Pray to God to have a good nurse otherwise you’ll be in trouble.

I typically do not leave reviews and if I could give 0 stars I would.. worst experience!! I have never been to an emergency room that has cared so little about there patients. I have sever Asthma and was only sent to a room to be discharged and be told I have COVID!! I had initially given this information to the intake med. I was having trouble breathing and my chest was so tight I could barley catch my breath when I arrived. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND OR MONEY!!!!

People please read this. I went to HC Germantown on Sunday 1/21. This was the worst experience of my life, I’m talking about of a first country in the world. I arrived there with a lot of pain on my kidney , The front lady took my information, my blood and I waited with a lot of pain but I new that there was a process. However I waited for 2 hours, the pain just got stronger and stronger , I asked again for help and the front desk ladies said they could do anything. The pain it was so strong that I vomited several times even on my clothes ,. Due to extremely pain I started to scream. The front lady said that I need to be quiet . After a few minutes they came and gave me some medicine and the pain continue. They put me on the hall but inside of the area that they see people. I continue screaming. Some unprofessional nurse came with a smile on the face trying to practice his Spanish with me . This is so unprofessional, in a medical field , if you don’t know the exactly language of the person just speak English or ask for their main language . The pain was so bad and his Spanish so horrible that I want to punch him , but unfortunately I will never due that. To resume it was 6 hours on the hospital with pain , I had kidney stone. Got 3 morphine and they send me home. The nurses looked at me with no empathy, they joke between them , smile while a patient on the hall dying on the hall. I have a good life insurance wasn’t anything for free. My only mistake it was not recorded and send how they treat people to the news. If you ever have this kind of experience ( I hope not)please record and contact the news.

They are the worst hospital in the world. The only reason why I am giving them a 1 star is because their ER was ok. When they admitted my father to the floor everything went downhill. My father died 4 days later and at the same time the social worker had been talking to me about his discharge. He was nauseated and kept vomiting and would call for help but not a single nurse would come to his aid for hours. The doctor showed up for 5 minutes at 2 pm and thought nothing about him vomiting. They never bothered to look into or get a stomach scan. And in the middle of he night my father passed away. They are negligent and legal action needs to be taken. The nurses don't care, they are short staffed and they don't care if the older patients die.

I went in for my induction after being inconvenienced at Holy Cross Silverspring. My hospitalization for the birth of my baby girl was amazing. The nurses we’re very attentive and nurturing and I appreciated the nurse Rachel in labor in delivery during my induction she made me feel very calm even going through the hard parts. Labor was so easy with the nurses tending to me making me feel as comfortable as possible, also delivering even though she came out with a scare and fast the nurses and pediatrician made sure that she was healthy and well. I would definitely recommend having your baby at THIS specific Holy Cross, they make sure you are healthy and have the proper materials to care for your self and baby. THANK YOU HOLY CORSS GERMANTOWN !

Growing up shady grove (shady grave) was the worst hospital ever but holy cross has taken that title over. My mom broke her ankle last night and was transported there. They discharged her with a walker instead of crutches. I’m trying to figure out how can a person with a broken ankle use a walker. Not possible. So I take the walker back to exchange for crutches and they give me a hard time on that. No customer service and no empathy for my mother. Front desk receptionists are rude along with the nurse assigned to my mom. You’d be better off driving ti suburban hospital.

I went to the ER on Friday 12/3/21 . The nurse nor the PA asked anything regarding my medication that I was taking nor any other information that would help treat me medically. The PA ordered a CT, I didn’t have a high white blood count. They ordered a HCG when I don’t have the ability to get pregnant anymore. I was having issues with vomiting and the PA was in such in a rush to get off on time she sent a nurse in the room with crackers and waters to see if it stayed Down. The nurse came back 2 minutes after I ate a cracker and took a sip water with discharge papers. I vomited a few minutes after I walked out of the hospital. They also didn’t inform me not to take metformin for 72 hours after having a ct scan with contrast which could have caused kidney issues. Had I not known better. The whole ER staff is a walking HIPPA violation. They using their cell phones with medical records open. Taking pictures. This hospital doesn’t care about people it cares about money. This visit seem like a lot like a way to stick it to the insurance and patient. I received a letter today 1/8/22 in the mail. Nothing was addressed. Just a letter stating that they reviewed the chart and what they believe. I stand by my original statement. This hospital doesn’t care about people it cares about money.

First of all, it is difficult, at least in my case, to get the health professionals to return my calls at this hospital regarding my sister who is a patient there. As an example, this morning I started calling at 6 am and now, at 10:47 am have not been able to discuss my sister's condition with a health professional. I was told, however, by someone who answered the phone that my sister, who is mentally ill and suffers from debilitating seizures, was discharged and trying to catch a bus at the bus stop by the hospital. Well, number one, It's very cold and my sister only has a pair of jeans, a top, no shoes and no coat. Secondly, I dropped my phone two days ago and asked the hospital to put a new phone number into their system in order to reach me since my phone was no longer working. On three different occasions, I was told this would be done. Maybe it was, but as of this morning I was told that the hospital had not been able to reach me. Guess why? Apparently, at least some of the people at that hospital are still using my phone number from that phone that is not working. Now that is the sign of a well run hospital (not)! All the other hospitals I have dealt with in Montgomery County have not allowed her to be discharged -- instead preferring to keep her in the hospital with the use of security until I could get there. Would you send your family member to this hospital?

I've been here twice. The first ordeal was uneventful. I came in for a minor bleed and I wanted to rule out a potentially severe prescription side effect. The literature says to seek immediate attention, so I did. Triage nurses were pleasant and efficient. Dr. Price addressed my concerns and we left in a few hours. My second visit was absolutely humiliating. I was brought in by an ambulance, I had trouble breathing and speaking. Over the course of 7 hours, they ran multiple EKGs and a CT scan. I informed them that I have a renal impairment and they blessed me with a single cup of water. I asked if it should be a concern that I had a huge rash flare-up around the same time as the breathing trouble. This was never addressed. My door was left open and I overheard Dr. Moses snapping at another staff member to have me discharged. They gave me discharge papers when my throat still felt very tense, and my partner was not allowed to come in and escort me out.

We had a positive experience at Holy Cross Germantown. After a 20 minute wait Dr. Allen in the ER helped my son identify the issue (ruptured appendix) and get comfortable. He was extremely kind and competent. The other doctors and nurses we interacted with including surgery staff also provided great care. At one point I was looking a bit lost after visiting the cafeteria and the President of the hospital escorted me back to surgery and checked in on the status of my son. Considering the current pressures on the health system, we particularly appreciated the excellent care and services provided. Thank you Holy Cross!

I wanted to pass on praise for the maternity care team at Holy Cross Germantown. Even though there was a staffing shortage and COVID case spike when I delivered (1/17/22), we received excellent care as we welcomed our second daughter. I would like to nominate the following nurses for Daisy awards as they all went above and beyond providing remarkable patient care: - Robin: who made sure my c-section baby latched successfully while I was in recovery. Thank you for patiently helping me. Baby is successfully nursing because of your dedicated help! - Ana: who gently cared for me as I was coming off of pain medications and had all sorts of hormonal shifts. Thank you for being kind and patient with me. And for making sure I peed enough so that I didn't need to be recathed. - Hershey: who checked in on us often and made sure all our needs were met. Your care and warmth made ALL the difference during our stay. Thank you for your expert swaddling and baby bathing tips. - Flavia: who kindly cared for us one night and helped us get discharged early the next day. - Stella: who got us all discharged and made sure we were all set with supplies stocked and questions answered. - Richard: thank you for caring for me in the OR and then wheeling me out for discharge. Loved your positivity and sense of humor! THANK YOU ALL!!! We're so grateful for healthcare workers like you!

The hospital visiting hours is horrible. 4pm-8pm is not a good time for families to visit their love one that is hospitalized. Many people aren’t able to provide support to the patient within the visit hours because they have to be home early to care for the children arriving home from school or daycare. People prefer to visit patients late morning or early afternoon in order to get home on time to care for families that are at home. I’ve heard of visiting hours starting at 11am or 12pm, but 4pm makes absolutely no sense. Seems to me that this hospital does not support mental, emotional, physical, or psychological support for the patients for families that would like to visit their loved ones within a reasonable time frame.

Excellent experience with my C-section as a first time mom. My water broke a few days before the date of my scheduled C-section and they were able to get me in the very next day. Staff were all professional and warm. Everyone was genuinely happy for us. Shout out to nurse Stella and Dominique! They were amazing. Also loved the lactation consultant who was so helpful!my one complaint would be rh terrible food.

My wife spent over six hours in the emergency room waiting area in agonizing pain after arriving in an ambulance. We waited patiently only to be sent home with instructions to see a few different specialists. Five hours later she’s doubled over in pain once more. As a husband I felt absolutely helpless so I called the emergency room to see what the best course of action would be and if it was possible to see an actual doctor as opposed to a physician’s assistant. I was informed that “they are open 24 hours and have a doctor working or I could go somewhere else.” His attitude and tone lacked even a basic semblance of empathy or compassion. I am beyond disgusted with this emergency room.

If I could rate a zero I would. So many issues at this hospital while there the charge nurse clearly violated hippa numerous times. Tried to file complaint would not get any help the lady above the charge nurse was clearly a friend and blew me off and would not let me speak to anyone else. Then as I sat there I could hear the charge nurse and other nurses talk trash about patients parents: hospital was very dirty does not appear they clean very well or update damaged walls etc. Then I get the bill for my child and they have a total different persons names attached and sent me a bill which legally they can’t. So I called n filed a complaint with my health insurance and they even said I was correct.

I was in the ER and the staff who checked me in (younger woman with long dark hair, eyelash extensions and nail extensions) was very rude and unprofessional towards me. Her tone of voice sounded as if she was irritated by me the entire time and this made checking in very uncomfortable. I came to the ER for concerns to my pregnancy and heat exhaustion symptoms that were making me sick. The staff person asked if I was having contractions and then told me I had to go to Labor and Delivery, I explained to her that I don’t understand what a contraction is supposed to feel like so she continued to process me for intake at the ER main level. After I was seen by a nurse for vitals the nurse advised me that I will need to go to labor and delivery floor, but her directions to me were to go back out to the waiting room and someone will assist me to Labor and Delivery. I waited and then the woman who had made my check in so uncomfortable made it even worse when she yelled out my first name from behind her desk and asked me what I’m still doing here? First it’s inappropriate for her to just scream out my first name, and her follow up question was in a demanding and frustrating tone. At this point I was very nervous with how rude she was being towards me and I explained what the nurses directions were to me, instead of being understanding she continued to speak to me in a demeaning tone saying that I need to go to labor and delivery cause she already checked me in. I had never been to labor and delivery floor and she was telling me to just take myself there. I asked her how do I get there and she made no eye contact with me when she rudely said go down the hall and up the 3rd floor. I was experiencing symptoms of dehydration and exhaustion while 6 months pregnant and it was very confusing at that time for me to find my way there. I walked through the doors and the security guard told me I couldn’t go to Labor and delivery because visiting is over and I explained that the ER was sending me there but I needed help finding the Labor and delivery floor. He pointed at this very long hallway that I had to walk through to get to the other side of the hospital and take the elevator to 3rd floor. I walked through a barely lit up hallway to the very end of the hospital to find this elevator. I was experiencing extreme nausea and headache and cramping in my lower abdomen. I took the elevator up to the 3rd floor and not a single person was upstairs in what seemed like another check in area. I kept roaming around trying to find someone and the desk station was vacant and barely any lighting was up there, the whole experience was scaring me. I began crying as soon as I saw a nurse coming from the opposite direction through security doors because it was so overwhelming trying to get medical treatment for myself and growing baby inside me. Please address this matter with the woman who checked me in at the ER front desk because the way she had rudely spoken to me and yelled at me to ask what I’m doing in the waiting room and then dismissively treating me like I am just supposed to know where to go, and offering no assistance to help me go up to Labor and Deliver while I was suffering from heat exhaustion, her irritable attitude towards me to make me travel a long walking distance through a dimly lit hospital on my own while dehydrated and confused made this the WORST experience

Had my baby there last week. It was an amazing experience and the staff, especially the nurses, were a huge part of it. They helped me feel confident and comfortable, above and beyond. I can't speak highly enough of them. Whatever bad experiences people have had there, mine was the opposite. I can't be more grateful for them.

I am saddened when I'm reading all the negative reviews . I came in on August 11th in the evening. I feel like the triage nurse did not take me seriously but everybody beyond him was absolutely awesome . The nurse that followed me in the ER the doctor that followed me in the ER. I had to have an emergency surgery the nurses and the doctors there were also awesome.. I had to stay extra days . I really don't have anything negative to say about anybody but the very original triage person. The transport people the radiology people just everybody I doubt with was awesome I don't know how To say it any better

One year ago i had a terrible accident. The rescue squad took me to the ER. They couldn't have been kinder or quicker. My accident ended up being quite severe but I lived. Wonderful staff. Was hospitalized for three days then home then to another hospital for surgery. 36 physical therapies and even though I am partially disabled I was able to return to work. Next wed will be the one year anniversary and I will be returning to the ER with candy gifts and a card. It's hard to work in the ER. I worked at suburban hospital for 4 years and it is extremely stressful. Best wishes to everyone who helped me!!!!

Two weeks ago I had hip replacement surgery at this hospital. I was told prior to my admission that I would be given a walker to take home with me. After my stay, during which I had to pull teeth to get any attention from the nurses (except for Mustafa, who was amazing)... I was told that I must be mistaken.. no walker was available to me. My daughter practically had to beg for one, waiting for signatures as I sat in the car in my post op fever and slight nausea. Flash forward... The hospital apologizes to me for their screwups. I should have been handed a walker with no questions asked. So why did this happen? Simply a f up. I imagine this has and will occur again. One star for this traumatic exit. This hospital wants me to call customer service. Why bother? You have earned your one star rating. If you had your stuff together I would have been on my way home at least a half hour earlier. Deal with it!

Sadly I need to write a negative review of this place. I've been here now with my mother for over 5 hours after triage and she still hasn't been seen by the dr. My wife was here a few years and waited for 3 hrs before even making it to triage, so she she left in pain. Will definitely choose Shady Grove Hospital or make the drive to Frederick Memorial and hope for a better level of care. Do yourself and your family members a favor and seek emergency care elsewhere. Edit: So my mother finally got admitted last night.Thankfully she wasnt in any acute pain, but we almost left without an official discharge. The nurse and nurse practitioner attending to my mother once admitted have been great, making a much better experience past all the waiting. I'm still saying the initial intake and waiting was God awful though. Staff really seemed completely uninterested in alleviating patient's concerns and needs.

This hospital's staff are without compassion nonetheless a horrible rapport & bedside manor. Was literally made fun of by staff while in earshot of their lack k of humanity & this is from all the staff who contribute to the intake process oaaot po& behind the front desk. After being told this hospital was set up for my particular issue only to get there & find out they weren't & after conveying this info to the doctor, he basically made me out to be a liar & made it feel as if this was apparently a game & that I just woke up & thought to go waste they're time & my own in the process. We all know nothing will be done about it. I'll wait & see if I'll even get a response or have anyone respond to this at all

TERRIBLE patient care here. I came in specfically for treatment for vaginal bleeding from an abortion. Instead of explaining to me that they can't do anything about the bleeding, the PA Newman-Paul decided to do a urine test and take a tube of my blood. Mind you I have already been heavily bleeding from the abortion all day and I am already light headed. They had called me back 5 differnt times from the waiting room with a lot of misinformation. The PA did not give me any proper medical advice for this serious condition. Once I had realized that they were just after my money I had decided to not go any further with procedures. The PA never informed me that they can not speak on abortions or help patients with this type of condition. My test results were never explained to me and my primary problem was not addressed. When I was handed with the test results, the PA had commented to me "come back if you get worse". This was extremely rude and unprofessional, the nurse staff had witnessed that and she claimed that's what he says to all patients. I am prepared to file a report against this PA if neccessary this was a very unpleasant experience.

Came for an outpatient procedure. Waited 30 minutes for registration and finally I had to go into the office to find someone to register me. While with the registrar, who spoke 3 words, he took a call from within the hospital further ignoring me and causing me to be another 15 minutes late. Asked me to sign a blank screen telling me I would receive a copy of what I signed, I received nothing. Sitting in the pre-op area after using a disgustingly dirty restroom, a voice came on with a morning Christian prayer…. I’m not Christian. Yes, I know it’s Holy Cross, but not expecting that! Haven’t even met the surgical team and already I know I won’t come back here😠. And…an hour or so after discharge when I was home trying sleep off anesthesia, I get a call that they forgot to give me my discharge papers!!! Nope, never again!

Too traumatized by the whole experience to leave a meaningful review. I was admitted on 10/6/2023 and signed myself out AMA on 10/16/2023. I will NEVER be back. I left after I was completely disregarded and disrespected by the Infectious Disease doctor on staff (Ruth Jacobs, MD). Please be aware of Nurse Elly (Eleanor H.- Critical Care ICU) in the ICU if you are an African American. She introduced herself by going on and on about how she despised Megan Markle. I was told by her that I did not have the right to ask questions about my blood pressure. I was also told that I needed to clean up behind myself as a patient in the ICU with Pneumonia and that I didn't need to be there and should be at home. I had Pneumonia and was in Kidney FAILURE. The nurses do no know the answers to any questions, I saw a total of 10 doctors in a 10 day period to which I had to explain why I was there each time. I was accused of having an eating disorder when I turned down meals. This was my first time in the facility and I am completely traumatized, devastated and mortified by my treatment. I mean this from my soul when I say I will NEVER go there again. ....the nurses are there for aesthetic and a check, and to make sure they get your vitals before the next shift comes in. They do not care about your well being. Zero stars, and PTSD.

Went to the ER cause of some chest pains. I felt like they actually tried to listen to me rather than telling me it was anxiety (which part of it prolly was cause I freaked myself out but the pain was there before the anxiety). Tech was super nice i wish i caught her name. My nurse was great (Shout out Jacob O, give him a raise for his positive attitude in a normally not so positive place!) My doctor was lovely as well. Overall did help calm me down with them testing for things and referring me out. Thanks HC!

Fatal, arrive. At 9 at night and it was 2 in the morning and they had not attended to my son, I ended up leaving and going to another place, I do not recommend this Hospital at all, unless they have the patience for about 9 hours of waiting, at registration, the person who treated me in a bad way, and the nurses don't even answer you
