Worst experience ever! Try another ER or be prepared to wait. Urgent care referred my mom here for a possible CT scan. We came in at 7pm and its 4:30am & were barely finished the scan. We haven't seen a doctor yet just nurses who move us from one spot to the other. Around 3am we were moved to this makeshift "room"... the worst experience ever!!! Ask the lady with a sick baby that opted to leave because she had been here for 4 hours and no one had triage her baby 💔. Ppl in pain all around & they were all waiting for hours.

I honestly don’t know why the reviews are so low here. Went into ER and received great service. I was surprised that the hospital was not chaotic. I am from Los Angeles and our ER is always bustling with people and it’s always loud. I had intense pelvic and abdomen pain. They did thorough testing - blood, urine, ultrasound and CT. I especially liked the nurse who took care of me. She is one of those patient, sweet and sympathetic nurses. I especially liked the CT technician Daniel. He made the entire process smooth and very comfortable- I knew exactly what would happen as he thoroughly explained it. His care and sense of humor made the entire experience much easier. It took a while for me to get the results but I liked how the ER staff was so good at updating me. The only thing I disliked was the intern who drew my blood. The whole thing was done so poorly that my hand was in pain the entire time I was at the hospital. Even other nurses and doctors mentioned how it was poorly done.

Well where can I start. Been here since 9:30pm and it’s now 12:00am, on a Thursday night, and the Emergency Room just posted a sign stating: “Current Wait Time 7 Hours.” For such a large hospital, they cannot seem to house any Emergency Room patients. All patients in various states of injury are triaged then sent back into the waiting room. District Of Columbia hospitals could teach Maryland a lot about service and how to operate a Hospital. This place is truly the worst Hospital I have ever been to, and it seems that this is the norm here, given the reviews. Do yourself a favor and call around before you come here. Save your time and the insurance company money. If I could rate this hospital a ZERO I would.

It was such an outstanding experience with one drawback. We went to the birth center. Everything was fantastic. Great nurses, staff, doctors and facilities. This hospital seems to have chemistry because almost everything was perfect. The only thing which unfortunately I had to remove a star for is the sleeper couch in the birth rooms. (Men, be aware of this) It is cruel to make anyone sleep on that and I'm only 5'5 and average sized. There is a beam that runs down the middle that will cause a tremendous amount of back pain. I brought it to the manager's attention. She said a lot of people complain and all they can do is give extra blankets. I think that's really lame of the hospital and the person or team who makes this decision should sleep on it for one night. I ended up sleeping on the floor, so I can't rate this place 5 stars, as much as I would like to because everything else was near perfect. Otherwise, this is a 5 star hospital for birth. All the nurses were fantastic. The staff in the cafeteria and Jane in the gift show are all so wonderful. I'm very grateful to have picked this hospital for the birth. If we have another and they change the sleeper I'll most likely rerate this a 5 = )

I contacted the board of health. This place looks like a 1985 horror movie. Everything is dirty and run down. Dim, dingy walls and old florescent lights. Curtains falling off the rods, all the patients can see each other and hear personal conversations with their medical professional that others should not hear! The worst part was there was blood on my bed where they placed me and hair ball chunks on the floor. The staff passed me around, no one knew what was going on. 4 people tried to take my blood unsuccessfully and kept sticking me 10 times over but didn’t swab with alcohol or wear gloves. A guy about to get off work ended up dropping his things and taking my blood when no one else could. An imaging guy tried to get me to take my top off without my bra on. I was so uncomfortable. Thank God my husband came back into the room. I was really sick and couldn’t move. Just a discussing facility. I complained but the hospital ignored and never got back to me. No one cares. It was approx. 2 grand for a ER visit. On a lighter note, the lady who conducted my CT scan of my head was very sweet and a caring people person. She was kind and considerate, introduced herself and explained what she was doing, has an attention to details and can read people to accommodate. She mentioned she had worked in this hospital for 30 plus years. You can tell she genuinely cares about people. Such a hard worker. It’s going to be unfortunate for this hospital when she retires. Only one who seemed qualified to be working in healthcare. Even the actual doctor who saw me didn’t want to be bothered. My husband and I contracted a really bad soar throat and bronchitis infection after being in this place. Symptoms occurred 1-2 days after we were there and lasted for a week. So unsanitary.

Nurse Jane was great. However, visiting hours are too strict. I came to visit my grandpa in the ICU last night. I got there at 8:10pm due to working a late shift. They didn't let me in despite his declining condition. He died a couple hours later. Show some flexibility at an end of life situation. Just because a patient is in the ICU doesn't necessarily mean they have much longer.

My recent negative experience March 9th, 2023, has ruined my respect for this institution. I have reached out multiple times and have yet to discuss with anyone the issues that occurred. I went to the ER for several serious concerns, but was met with hostility and discrimination from the ER doctor. The nurse and support staff were incredible, but the doctor was rude and unprofessional. The first thing the doctor said before even asking me what was going on was “you should not have come to the hospital and take up space for others.” I told him that I have been told by one doctor to go to the ER when I have certain medical needs, and the other medical emergency I was experiencing was immediate and I still had 3 weeks before I could see a specialist. He then addressed only a part of the issue and ignored other issues I was in for. The combination of multiple issues was the reason for coming in, but he did not even address all of them. I felt discriminated against based on the fact that I am over weight, a woman, and have rare illnesses. I felt that I was not taken seriously and had to ask for additional help from another department. My mother was in the room and witnessed everything. I will not be going back if these are the doctors the hospital chooses to hire.

Best birth center in the region. The labor & delivery and NICU nurses are absolutely amazing! They take great care of the moms and babies, and the delivery and recovery rooms are clean and comfortable and have great views. Nice vibe, not dark and depressing like most hospitals. And again the nurses and other staff are incredible, true angels! The rest of the hospital staff are also great, from security to billing to cafeteria staff, they are all friendly and caring and go above and beyond in every interaction.

The only reason it gets a two star is because of the nice cardiologists I saw. This hospital has gone down hill since I’ve had my children here years ago. The bathrooms were filthy, the staff was rude and forgot about me. They had trainees sticking me two and three time blowing the line each time. Then they cuss, complain about their jobs, and joke about patients right in earshot! One nurse yelled throughout the small space 3 Charlie tested positive. Come on we all know Charlie is for C and now we all know the patient in 3 C has Covid. Somebody get me back to Kaiser!!!! Did I mention how disgusting the unit was? Does housekeeping take pride in their work? Also Johnathan and Zach were professionals. Might I add the ambulance brought me to this place against my wishes

I don’t like to leave bad reviews but I hope this can save someone’s life by putting it here. This has been the worst medical care experience I have ever had. After at least an hour of waiting to check in, you will give all of your personal information to a nurse with everyone listening within ear shot, no private rooms, no privacy whatsoever. The staff make you feel like you are an inconvenience, I didn’t even know my nurses name. I needed a CT for an emergent condition and person who came in an hour after me with a chronic problem of 3 weeks went down for a CT before me (I know this because no conversations here are private, unfortunately). Five hours is too long for someone to wait for diagnostics when they have a life or death condition that requires immediate surgery. They obviously don’t know how to triage which is ER medicine 101. I was crying in my hospital bed and nobody cared. Nurses never stopped by to check in, or tell me what’s going on. I paged for help three different times before anyone came. This hospital is the worst I have ever experienced. Please go someplace else.

Be extremely careful when an elderly family member is admitted. Our 93 year old father was admitted for recurring UTIs. Once admitted, the hospital advised us he was losing blood. After diagnosis, he was in the hospital for 17 days. He could walk with the aid of a walker when he went in. However, he could not walk or even feed himself when we took him out of the hospital against their recommendation. His primary care doctor said we did the right thing by getting him out of there. He contacted COVID while there and on day 3 of his quarantine, they wanted to discharge him. We would call for updates and it could take a couple of days for them to call us back. I had to start calling every hour to finally get an update.

Even if it’s you’re only option.. please do whatever is necessary to find an alternative hospital. Most walk out worse off than when they came in. Good experiences with Shady Grove seem limited. I am a 24 year old first generation high school and college graduate. I was checked in and given an IV, when I did not need one. Nothing was connected to it bc I did not need one. The IV was painful. I told the nurse immediately. She told me she didn’t want to waste another one, that I will get used to it. I cooperated. After pacing and doubling over in pain, I asked multiple staff for assistance, as my fingers were beginning to tingle and entire arm was going numb. They all said to wait for my nurse. After much begging, my nurse finally came and took out the IV, which was extremely painful. In complaining to the Dr, I used a curse word to describe the severity of my pain and she had me discharged. I was not treated for my initial emergency nor for the failed IV, that was not needed. I have taken muscle relaxers and am forced to keep my arm folded to prevent my fingers from turning red from pain. Ice barely helps as well. My 25th birthday is in 2 days. This is my second experience in which my patient rights were violated by Shady Grove.

All I can say is WOW just WOW! The staff on wing 2D are incredible. Let’s just say when the staff is lead by a good example you get good results. Dr Iqbal is OUTSTANDING and his leadership shows in his nursing staff. I would like to thank each and every one of them. I don’t want to individually name them because I’m afraid I may miss someone. All of you know who you are, the kindness and support you provided will never be forgotten. Keep up the compassionate care all of you demonstrated.

We delivered our baby at this hospital late last year. Overall positive experience- clean facility, decent food, good staff for the most part. We especially appreciated our caring delivery nurse, Noel! She was very attentive listening to concerns, answering questions and supporting us.

Was at Shady Grove for Labor and Delivery and I had an incredible experience. Every single staff member - the nurses, doctors, front desk staff, food service staff, lactation consultants, etc. were truly wonderful. I cannot speak highly enough about all of the individuals who work in the Labor and Delivery and Mom & Baby units. Everyone was very kind, helpful, and genuinely lovely.

Don't ever use this Hospital unless you want the worst care you can possibly receive. While the nurses and accommodations are good, the medical care from from their Doctors is poorly managed. I went in for what should have been a quick in and out and ended up there for 3 days. They never reached my specialist and my symptoms became worse after 24 hours in their care. Once I had a Doctor in the room, I had to call my specialist and put him on speaker who had to instruct their under qualified doctor on what they should be prescribing and sure enough after that call, I finally started to feel good enough to leave. Further more, they tried to keep me longer towards the end when I was able to leave and I'm sure because they knew I had insurance that would pay the bill. In the end I expressed that I should not have to pay the remainder after my insurance cover $5,000 and they were looking for me to pay $500. Even when expressing the horrible stay due to their negligence and they pretty much told me they thought they handled my case with with good medical care. Pathetic and in all honesty shame on them for this type of BIG Business practice considering my father was one of the founding Surgeon when it used to be a real hospital.

My family member has had recurrent admissions all within a 2 month window. The communication at this facility is not good and attempting to talk to a patient representative has not been easy. The floor/unit nursing staff also had poor communication. You have to be very vigilant with your loved one here to make sure care is being managed properly. Not a place I would recommend anyone to go to.

Took my sister here and it was horrible. I’ve been to other hospitals and I can tell the difference between an overworked hospital, and one in which they simply do not care. The emergency care staff that treated us did not care about their job whatsoever. We were put in a room with dried up blood and dirt on the floor, and stained sheets. When we spoke up, we were given attitude and told to wait to be switched. Which was never done and we waited for 4 hours to walk out with nothing. Not the brace that we were told, nor a clear diagnosis. I usually do not post bad reviews and keep it moving but this was just too ridiculous and I would not take a rat to this place. They need to do better.

This urgent care deserves more stars. I was greeted from the outside by the police officer till the waiting room. I was wheeled in like royalty. I didn’t have to wait, I was attended to by the entire staff. Very courteous and helpful, in the past I dreaded going to urgent care for the long wait. This was the right location to pick. I am very pleased to have received help in my medical emergency. I definitely recommend this location. Awesome staff and facility.

Don’t let Dr. Jagoe deliver your baby. She did my first cervix exam without explaining to me why a cervix exam was necessary or what to expect from it, I was in so much pain and screaming when she did mine and she didn't stop even though I was wincing in pain, she just continued on with it and I was still in shock about it going back home. I sent a message in the patient portal explaining how uncomfortable and painful it was and that I wished she had informed me of what a cervix exam was and what it was going to feel like before examining me. Her response was that it was necessary to do and that I should let her "help" me, then at 40 weeks pregnant I saw her again for a check up and she wanted to do another cervix exam on me but this time l refused because of how traumatic it was the first time and that when I get to the hospital I can’t refuse it. Fast foward to having my baby, Dr. Jagoe literally gave me NO choice in how to deliver. She told me she was going to use vacuum and forceps on me if I didn't listen to her that this isn't the time to do what I want and I have to listen to what shes saying. Then I asked her what does vacuum and forceps mean and she ignored me! I wanted to deliver the baby on my SIDE and needed to hold onto the bars of the hospital bed but she kept yelling at me to stop holding onto the bars and to hold my own legs to my chest! I was unmedicated and NOT by choice, so it was very hard to support my own body so when my partner held my legs for me she got mad at both of us. She yelled at my partner to stop holding me and then yelled at me to hold myself. While i’m pushing and WITHOUT warning or my consent she stuck her fingers inside me and did a circular motion sweep in my vagina! I was in shock and crying asking her why she did that and why didn’t she tell me she was going to do that! Dr. Jagoe completely ignored me and I cried to the nurse next to me about it and SHE apologized for the doctor saying “I know, I’m sorry…” It was insane! I delivered my baby "all natural" but I was BEGGING for pain medication the moment I got to Triage and nothing was given to me. THREE different nurses including the charge nurse tried to get an iv needle placed in me and couldn't do it and no one explained to me why I wasn't getting ANY medication to help me deliver, I was yelled at to push and hold my breath and lay on my back - but my tailbone isn’t fused together and its been inflamed and painful ever since. I wasn’t allowed to lay on my side and my partner wasn’t allowed to help support my legs and I wasn’t given any medication, and the doctor was violating my body and my rights with not informing me or getting my consent and intimidating me to say she will use vacuum and forceps if I don’t do what she says. While pushing and breathing down Dr. Jagoe told me if I didn't hold my breath I wasn't going to get the baby out! My delivery was her rush hour to get baby out and her paycheck. If I ever get pregnant again I am NOT delivering at shady grove hospital!

i was here for a week. the hospital staff completely messed up my medications, and repeatedly misplaced the prescriptions the patients brought in, misdiagnosed my conditions, and ignored my medical history and possible drug interactions. i was there for three days before anyone bothered to give me food. they never did get my insurance right. they even refused to give me an extra blanket when the heat was out over the weekend. AND they repeatedly insulted by husband when he came to visit. and during nightly Christian prayers, the staff actually said that if we didn't join in, "may God have mercy in your souls." it's 2024. who says that?? oh and when the did followup calls, they didn't tell me that the day after i was discharged, all the other patients came down with the flu and were given antivirals. there's so much more, but there isn't room here. the bottom line is, i am now terrified of this hospital. most of them aren't even trying. it doesn't have to be like this. we all deserve better. all of us. this was absolutely the worst week of my life, and they're billing like i stayed at The Four Seasons.

Worst service. Clinical staff with zero knowledge about my care plan. I got transferred from shady Grove emergency on Saturday morning to main hospital for a surgery and I was put in 3b section. I was seen by a nurse after 53 mins in the room even I mentioned that I was in pain. The notice board in the room says their goal is pain management but it's contrary to that they did administer morphine after 53 mins. No body in 3b has any clue about my planned surgery and they didn't even tell me what the next steoa would be. The nurse told me that the doctor in rounds will tell me about the next steps. Suddenly I was moved to 2b to the pre operative room and then then the surgeon told me about the procedure. Post surgery care at 2b was excellent. The entire staff at 3b has zero known about my condition and I don't think they had read the care plan from their own emergency center. It's a shame that they don't have a coordinated care plan within their care system and I don't know what kind of EHR system they have..

I was seen on 1/18 for an infection that wasn’t responding to treatment, as directed by the urgent care I tried to go to. The staff were incredibly empathetic and did everything they could to make me comfortable. The PA, the nurses, and the techs were all great. I know the pandemic has stressed people beyond belief so I have nothing negative to say, if you’re gonna come to the hospital during a pandemic expect long wait times. But my experience was top notch

I truly don't understand how many reviews are so bad. I was diagnosed with long covid this year which has resulted in me going to this ER several times. Every single time, it's gone very smoothly. One time I went because I thought I was having a heart attack and another time a stroke and BOTH times I was triaged immediately. For the stroke, they had me in a CT machine in like 30 minutes and in a room. I had a major surgery done there last year as well, again zero complaints. ER times are always going to be long. We went for my partners sprained wrist and it happened to be a busy night so yeah we waited about 4 hours before getting back to a room. There were very sick sounding children in the waiting room that came after us and they should be seen first, in my opinion, so we didn't mind waiting even tho he was in some pain. They have one of the best ER check in systems I've ever seen. You check in by getting your vitals done alongside paperwork, then you're triaged based on vitals, history and problem. Nobody is perfect (I did have one nurse who was a bit rude and not very good at placing my IV catheter) but people should realize that the ER does walk ins as well as ambulance patients. They should also realize a majority of medical staff work 12 hours straight dealing with really tough situations. Also half the wait is because of the endless paperwork and results needing to be read and interpreted then signed off and sent to the ER staff. I've personally never gone to an ER and expected less than a 5 hour trip unless it's something major. I've definitely had worse experiences at other local hospitals like Holy Cross. We actually prefer this hospital so much that even tho we live in Germantown, we drive to Shady Grove if we can. I assume these reviews are a case of people who do have bad experiences being the only ones to review which is why I'm adding on my own.

There’s a reason it’s called Shady Grave. After 5 hours never got an IV and no one cared at all that my blood sugar was low and I was in agony. GO TO ANY OTHER HOSPITAL. Forget going to Shady Grave I’d there is anything seriously wrong. I received zero treatment and all I asked for was an IV due to dehydration. Rude and neglectful staff from bottom to top.

I gave birth here a few months ago and the staff were so incredible. I thank God everyday for them. Even with the constant changes of having a baby they handled everything smoothly and with such ease. They talked me through everything and helped me stay calm throughout the whole process. Amazing service, thank you so much!!

I wish I had read the reviews before going to emergency for chest pains. My day began by trying to schedule a cardiologist through my John Hopkins Advantage insurance. That resulted in appointment availability 5-1/2 months from now. So I go to emergency at Shady Grove. An EKG and a chest x-ray were taken and then I proceeded to wait for over 4 hrs. I watched people that came in after me to be called back so when I asked at the desk if they had any idea how much longer it may be the answer was no. How about where am I on the list? How many more before Me? The answer was no. There are ambulance that come in and we have no idea when you may be seen. So at this point my options seem to be find a better hospital or pay for an ambulance ride in the middle of the night to receive attention at Shady Grove. It appears that the biggest and constant complaint about this hospital is the unreasonable amount of time people spend waiting in pain. Perhaps you need more doctors, but the complete lack of care or concern is unacceptable and given the number of common complaints you obviously don't care to resolve the problem.

The staff is awesome!!! They're really really nice people, my biggest complaint is actually wait time it gets really annoying like I showed up 30 minutes early for an appointment and still wasn't seen till nearly 20 minutes past the appointment time so that was irritating. But besides that the staff was really nice I really enjoyed talking to them like the first thing they said was welcome to Shady Grove Hospital and it felt like you're actually seen by someone and it's not robots that are like here's your medicine goodbye

Yes - the ER wait time on a Monday evening was interminable. And once I made it through the glass doors, I felt I received excellent and compassionate care from the ER staff - doctors, nurses, technicians. I left feeling satisfied with my treatment and recommended next steps. These folks have a demanding job with a constant stream of patients and I thank them for their service.

I had a surgery as an out-patient on 6/9 and had great experience. All the staff, nurses, and anesthetist took good care of me. The lady who did nuclear injection for me was amazing. She was very soft, patient, and skillful. Her thoughtfulness brought me comfort. And the discharge nurse provided me complete instruction, the tips for shower and sleeping she told me are really helpful. This is my first time experience with Shady Grove Hospital, I appreciate everyone who helped with my procedure!

Went in for asthma exacerbation, staff was very kind, professional, educated, and attentive. They took my vitals/blood work very fast but after that I was placed back in the waiting room. I waited for almost 2 hours to actually be seen but I understand it’s based on severity. RN Kassie and Dr. Hsu were both extremely helpful, listened to me/did not write me off, and thoroughly explained all treatments/testing I’d be receiving. I’m very appreciative of their care!

I interviewed for a medical training there today at 8 AM 1/24/2024, via Microsoft Teams. It was difficult for me to understand what the interviewer was asking me due to her heavy accent, however, overall — the fact that Adventist provides an entry level medical training is good. I had to interview at the local coffee shop instead of my house because I had another medical healthcare orientation at 9 AM today and the scheduling was tight. Thank you for the opportunity to interview. I did not get accepted for the CNA training in Maryland due to bias, however I got accepted for the CNA training in New York. Go figure.

A Distressing Experience of Medical Negligence at 35 Weeks Pregnant. At 35 weeks pregnant, I visited the hospital with concerns about potential fluid in my lungs. The experience was distressing due to several issues with the hospital's procedures and communication. Despite multiple requests, they did not shield my baby during an x-ray, raising concerns about radiation exposure. Additionally, there was confusion with the EKG tests, requiring two attempts as the first result was misplaced. The phlebotomist’s technique was extremely painful, leading me to tears, making me question their professional training. An IV needle was left in my arm for an extended period, causing burning discomfort until it was finally removed after my insistence. (Pictures attached of bruises). The hospital staff did not provide clear information about the presence of fluid in my lungs, leaving me worried about both my health and my baby's wellbeing. Overall, the visit was a very upsetting and unsatisfactory experience.

Absolutely superior, excellent care surrounding every phase of my hernia repair surgery. Surgeon, Dr Sandler, was great, as were his office staff and hospital employees just as wonderful: helpful, polite, eager to please. While I may never see employees of Shady Grove in Rockwell again, I will never forget their kindness.

Here is my review of Shady Grove hospital. I think many people here put a smile on their face to take your money and try to charge every single line item they can to make more money for themselves. Once you get into their system, the facade is over and they are mean, arrogant and deceptive. Sure there are some good apples in this hospital but when there are many bad apples in this hospital, the batch is bad. I’d rather succumb on my own than get treated here. I’ll pray for the betterment of this place and may God Bless the hands of the people caring for your family here.

My son was in the hospital on 2-C from Feb 15-18. I cannot say enough in praise of the care he received. All who attended him (particularly his wonderful nurse, Palmer) were competent, knowledgeable, encouraging, and compassionate. Given the circumstances, we could not have asked for better care.

My son had a postnatal infection so we took him to shady grove. He had the best care. The staff was very nice and they made everything possible so we feel better. Thanks very much for the care. The pediatric unit was very efficient and supportive. Thank you so much! And my baby is six months now.

I’ve had multiple experiences at this hospital. A few were planned procedures and others have been emergency room visits. Planned procedures have generally been smooth with kind staff. Emergency visits have also been generally good. Sometimes whatever the climate of the overall emergency department can make it a tougher experience but I think generally there are caring nurses, physicians and other staff.

The overall experience of the birth of my child is was great! However, the nurse Joyce was rude towards the end of my stay at the hospital. She was rude to my husband and I. Also, when it was time for us to leave, she rushed us when making sure our baby was secure in the car seat. She did not seem properly trained to do that part. I will say that the nurse Emma in labor and delivery was fantastic. I do think managers should talk to Joyce though about her manners and how to properly speak to people.

I came in to Shady Grove with abdominal pain after being discharged from a different hospital that said it was just gas or all in my head. Shady Grove took great care of me and found out that it was gallstones that also cause pancreatitis. From the intake nurse, to the emergency room, to the overnight staff at the hospital, to the OR team and doctors, and even the discharge team were all very caring, helpful, and took great care of me. I recommend this place to anyone.

I gave birth to my first child on May. Although my c-section surgery went wrong and I had internal bleeding, my stay in Mother-Baby unit was very pleasant. Nurses and lactation consultants were very caring. Nurse Ophelia was amazing, we would like to visit her sometime. I cannot say same thing for ICU unit care and their nurses. They do not seem what they are doing, they were not able to put IV.

I went to the hospital today with the symptoms of possible heart attack and/or something in my lungs like walking pneumonia or bronchitis. I had already been to urgent care to urge me to go to the hospital to have blood work and possibly CT scan done. I got there and checked in rather quickly and did triage rather quickly (which is the only reason I gave it two stars instead of one) where they drew blood. Three..,... 3 hours later I had yet to hear any results from the blood work or the X-ray and no help after asking as to when I might expect to get results, talk to a doctor, see a doctor, be examined by a doctor, etc. When I had gotten there there was three people in the waiting room besides me and when they walked me through the emergency room to get my x-ray there were empty beds. So I'm basing this on if they could have worked through the few of us in the waiting room that there were. Anyway, I was hurting, anxious, tired, and in pain and at this point I just wanted to go home and take something for the pain and lay down. I asked if they could even find out if test results were ready so that I knew I was waiting just to talk with the doctor but they couldn't even seem to manage doing that. After 3 hours I asked that they take my IV Port out so I could go home and they could discharge me. They said they couldn't discharge me it would be called A.M.A. which is.... against medical advice....... I'm actually wondering how it can be against medical advice if I haven't seen a doctor yet to tell me what they possibly think it is, heard any results or had any ideas as to if I needed to stay there or not. If you don't receive any medical advice how can it be against medical advice to leave ? I don't know that they're any better but I'll be going to Suburban Hospital next time.

"He can just get a fever." This statement took everyone by surprise. The shift changed and so did the energy; Amazing what one nurse can do. Everyone that attending my son was extremely helpful and compassionate except this one nurse. I get it we can all have off days but my kid is 7. She did change her attitude after talking to the doctor and they recommended a different way of administering his medications. If it wasn't for this one nurse I wouldn't have given them 5 stars. God bless. Jesus Christ is Lord

Hello I came in to have my Mammogram done a few days ago and the Technician that brought me back was Ms FARIBA I was a little worried and as soon as she took me back it was like I forgot about everything, she made me so comfortable while getting my mammogram done. She explained with detail every step of the way and made me feel happy and without any worries. I highly recommend her to other ladies who will have their mammograms done. She’s very respectful and efficient. Thank you so much for your great work Ms FARIBA.

Maybe hire someone more competent at their job when it comes to keeping track of y'all's payments. Had my bill paid off within 3 months and they still had the audacity to send it to collections 3 months after it was paid in full. You can bet your backside I'm gonna fight this one because these are the kinds of people that remind you why you keep your confirmation numbers. Thankfully, I do.

From check in, pre op, surgery, post op, exceptional care/treatment. The nurses (Elizabeth), my surgeon even wheeled me into the OR and stayed with me until I was asleep (Dr. Diane Laurin). Everyone answered our questions and took time to explain everything. Made the process very easy.

Am rating 2stars as the nursing, food, lab, technician, cleaning and other support staff are all doing their absolute best to perform their jobs and all deserve 5 stars. I would rate below one star if I could for the patient -doctor interaction and communication as it is basically non-existent. They provide some app you can scan to talk to dr but it’s doesn’t work and is a joke. You have about 2 min a day if you’re lucky and a doctor even visits you before noon to ask questions but if you’re asleep or busy - oh well. I’ve had no way to find out my status , why I’m still on certain meds, when I can get out, on and on. The night dr cannot answer or help. Really stressful week stay thus far with no idea how I can understand my status.

This facility injured my husband who was admitted to this hospital. They insulted my son only since he asked them to treat the patient and his family respectfully. They placed me in an unsafe position and the automatic doors of the hospital hit my head that caused me to have headache and nausea. They didn’t even care, and never check my health condition to see whether the impact to my head that caused by their unsafe behavior caused any medical trauma to me.some of their personal are very rude and disrespectful to patients, especially a person named Lauren in their respiratory team. They try to hide the truth about their negligence and misconducts. The regulatory authorities should take actions against this facility and hold them accountable to provide at least minimum quality care to patients.

I have to give an amazing thanks and gratitude to all of the nurses, doctors and staff who took care of me while I was at the hospital from Monday to Thursday. They took such attentive care of me and made sure I got the right medicine for my diebeties. I also want to thank my daughter who did the right by calling 911. She find me unconscious, couldn't talk, walk, and blacking out in and out. I would never want my daughter to go threw that. I also want to thank the paramedics who took care of me too. So thank you shady Grove hospital for saving my life. Without I could have died. So thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Please accept my apology; I've never been to Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove, even though I was told by the ambulance that they were taking me there. After realizing they had taken me to Silver Spring, I tried to delete this review. Google doesn't allow me to remove this post, so the best I can do for now is to give you five stars. Again, I am sorry, but you didn’t do anything wrong. My issue is with the Devil Cross Hospital of Silver Spring.

I was in the hospital last Thursday 7/27/2023. I needed some answers. I was given the answers that I needed. I watched as many patients came into the hospital. So many patients were rude, insulting and offensive. All the patients said their pain level was 10. I was impressed with your nurses and staff. They remained calm, understanding and helpful. They made my stay a lot less stressful than it might have been. So, a very special thank you to the staff at Adventist. I would highly recommend Adventist to anyone.

My review is positive. I was sent from urgent care to the Shady Grove ER and everything was handled professionally. The waits are always too long when you're suffering but the staff took steps to get people seen more quickly. And there was plenty of two-sided communication.

After waiting over 4+ hours to be seen by a doctor, I was put into a patient room that was pratically a dirty prison cell the size of a linen closet (even with having good private health insurance). Per one of the nurses, the hospital was not at full capacity however, I was placed in the secluded dirty room to ensure there's enough open beds with monitors available for potential incoming patients. I was not checked on once, I was not provided updates at all, and the nursing staff seemed to converse with each other rather than tend to patients. The hospital is dirty, very mismanaged and is frankly concerning. My blood was taken and x-ray images were captured prior to signing any consent forms. When the doctor finally came in, he took his medical examination notes on a scrap piece of paper as if he was a server at a restaurant. Avoid this hospital if you value your health and wellness. Complete disaster of a facility. The lack of care is unbelievable. The Doctor doesn’t even come to provide his official diagnosis or to provide me with discharge information as I requested. 1 star is too many stars for this place.

My mom came in to ER 26th this month still in observation room. It’s been 5 days. Her symptoms are nauseous, vomiting, and diarrhea. All nurses and staff said same thing over and over does not know why. Is this possible? How can hospital can’t determined her diagnosis? Now I feel like mis performing due to mom is State of Maryland Medicaid Program patient. She is 80 years old. Only performing giving ivy fluids of potassium and hydration. When if something goes wrong? Can we depending this hospital for our life? Are they going to take full responsibility if she does not recover?
