DISGUSTING- found MULTIPLE LONG hairs in my burger. Maybe my fault from deciding to get food from a train station. Check your food inside and out before eating, never ever eating here again. Absolutely disgusting and traumatizing. Maybe give the employees some food with hair in it so they can learn why hygiene standards matter. Foul. Should be shut down.

Food was great. Fresh and hot off the grill. However, as others mentioned the service is terrible. That big girl that's back there that's bigger than everyone in that kitchen is very rude. Acted as if I a huge bother when I walked up to place my order. Her attitude is awful!

After a long day of sightseeing during my recent first trip to Washington DC and being that i was completely exhausted from being in the heat, I needed to get something to eat while waiting for my train at Union Station. So that's when I saw a Shake Shack at Union Station, and I immediately chose there to eat. And it definitely hit the spot. The bacon cheeseburger and spicy cheese fries were amazing!! It didn't take long for the food to come out, and it definitely was fresh. I also got a shake, and that was definitely the cherry on top of everything. It was an oreo funnel cake shake, and wow, it was one of the best shakes I've ever had! The service was not bad. I came around closing time, and the employees were in closing mode, but they weren't really rushing me. Out of all the fast food places that are at Union Station, I'm glad I chose Shake Shack.

Apparently, no one can sit upstairs cause of a field trip taking place upstairs, students eating no doubt. I didn’t know shack shake rents nor did anyone indicate this with a reserve sign so at least customers can know before going upstairs, even though there’s many seats available

Shake Shack, in comparison to others in the same category, is a dissent fast food/ burger place. However, the difference between branches is the services. To me, this branch seems to be on a slow side of service. Anyway, my strawberry shake and Shake Stack were both good, as expected.🍔🍧

I seem to echo other reviewers. The food was good, especially for a fast food joint, but the service left much to be desired. The cashier was mumbling, never had a smile, and seemed to hate working there. It also took longer than expected to get food, which is not much of a big deal to me, but to others I know it would be. You won't go wrong eating here, but in DC there are many better options.

This was hands down the best fast food experience ever. The buns and burgers were mouth watering. The fries were cooked to perfection. The shakes were perfectly thickened. This was so good that we even changed our phone lock screens to shake shack. There was a wonderful lady i believe to be on clean up duty who’s beautiful personality really made our experience. And a big shout out to our homie in the back flipping burgers 🍔 if anyone know his instagram @ lmk💯

This location of Shake Shack is just like the others. The environment is moderately clean, and the staff is very helpful. However, you cannot order ahead at this location using the app, which was quite inefficient. Furthermore, they do not have a barcode scanner, which meant that we couldn’t use the gift card we had. Overall, it’s a good Shake Shack location, but has a downside in paying/ordering methods.

Solid shake shack experience, reasonably proximate to all the sightseeing that I did in DC yesterday. I’m a huge fan of the burger and don’t get it often, so I got a double with bacon. I regret nothing. The fries were perfectly fluffy and the drink not so bad. The whole combo was expensive. But every now and then, worth it.

Thanks again Romano for providing such excellent service and high quality food…and of course the delicious shakes!!! He took the time to educate me more on the Shake Shack brand in regards to the high standards for what goes into the delicious burgers they provide. Overall great experience and pretty convenient, clean and friendly location!!! Stop by and see for yourself!!!! Most of the food and shake are already in digestion town 😊 IG: @masterpeace_beauty

Maybe it was because I was starving and wouldn't be able to get food for the next three hours but this location was the best Shake Shack I've been too. My go to burger is the Shack Stack and it was perfect. The patty was nice and juicy and the mushroom was hot and gooey. The fries were piping and crispy and my strawberry shake really hit the spot. Definitely stop by before your journey.

Great burger, surprisingly great fries. Went here before Caps game. We stood in line (bad) but that meant that everything was fresh and piping hot when we got it. Burger was as good as we expected, fries were better than usual for Shake Shack. Loved it!

This past Saturday evening January 21 2023, I chose to order and consume some food from inside the Shake Shack location of union station metro of Washington DC (that is on Massachusetts avenue). I chose to have the shack stack ( an angus beef cheeseburger with "shack sauce" coupled with a crisp fried portobello mushroom with muenster and cheddar cheeses) lettuce tomato with cheese fries and a small rootbeer. The food was appetizing and was luckily given to me in a generous portion size for the price I paid, plus the employees I interacted with for ordering and receiving my food were polite.

Great restaurant, terrible at this location. I’ve eaten here multiple times, both in-person and had deliveries, since it’s closer relative to other Shake Shacks. Deliveries are frequently missing one or multiple items (shakes, fries, whole meals). This last time was my last time ordering from them: one missing shake and a missing spicy fries with ranch. Previous deliveries have missed whole burgers, half a meal, or delivered the wrong order entirely. In-person dining is slightly better. The atmosphere in Union Station is nice because of Union Station, but not made nice by the Shake Shack staff, restaurant atmosphere, or seating. Tables are often sticky or messy (potentially due to lazy customers). It’s also somewhat hard to get to by car and to find parking, so it’s best if you walk or bike. Bottom line: if you’re exhausted from a train ride and are traveling through Union Station, enjoy before going elsewhere. If you’re close, go and pick it up and take it somewhere else. If you’re delivering, get it from a different Shake Shack location unless you’re willing to miss half your order half the time and get no refund. (Uber, DoorDash, and GrubHub offer little to no refund.)

I loved eating at Union Station. The music inside shake shack was too loud so we went to eat in the tables outside the restaurant and it was nice. The cheese fries were below average but the burgers and the vegan chocolate shake 🤤 amazing!!!!! The creamsicle was also really good!!

Juicy burger that hits your lips and explodes into a bomb of flavor best washed down with a cookies and cream shake. The peppers on the smoke shack are sneaky hot, at first they don’t taste like anything but their heat will surprise you. Great view inside the station too

Needed to grab dessert after eating at Union station. Good place to go. I got the strawberry shake, son - classic vanilla and daughter got the cookies & cream with whipped cream on the top. Wife got the Chocolate Salted Toffee shake and they put the whipped cream on hers. We scooped it off and put it on daughters. Would like a non dairy option available. Overall - ok.

So we make the line the cashier seemed to be tired. Then we wait for the food (Sub par) and wait. Many customers were taken care of before and I wait. The worker seemed not care. So this delivery girl was waiting for her order and she asked what's taking so long to get her order. And the worker said when he checked her ticket that she brought that it was another shake Shack that she had to pick up her order not from Union station. So she's moving the guy out and he makes her a whole new order and gives it to her while I'm still waiting there. He checks my order and then he says that making veggie hamburger takes longer all the while they haven't even started to make my order. Because he went to the grill guy and ask him to start making my order. It took 20 minutes for me to get two hamburgers and some fries. This won't matter to management as they won't care for One customer never again will I visit or recommend a shake Shack ever. You can keep shaking it but not for my money. The employe did not even say thank you or we're sorry, he just gave me the order and kept walking it must be a color thing. If he does not like his job go to school and study something else.

After a horrible experience with another restaurant in Union Station (which we left, still hungry), this place was polar opposite and in the best ways! Service was great! The staff was helpful, professional and personable. The food was ready quickly and was delicious! My picky eater kids had no problems devouring the chicken bites and fries. The burgers my husband and I ordered were awesome. Thank you for saving a tough time for a stressed family!

I LOVE shake shack, and I this is not an exception. The food was nice and hot and the service was amazing. This place whipped up such a good shroom burger that someone in my party who doesn't like mushrooms ended up liking it. Good job!

For sure, this place was definitely above our expectation compared to our experience in a different location. Crispy fries. Juicy and hot patties with properly melted cheese. Was given immediately after cooking. All the employees were kind and energetic. Eager to listen their customers. Accidentally visited to take amtrak in the station and so satisfied.

Came in roughly about 7:54pm on my ticket to place order, I says on my paper DBL BACON CHS LTOP. I'm finally home from my trip I have a sandwich with no bacon, I'm more Unsatisfied Customer because I a restaurant manager. I was told you have great burgers I rolled the dice and took a chance and became extremely disappointed with food. I noticed the kitchen was enjoying themselves talking but as she said my name I asked if this is my order and she turned away more so interested in the conversation they had, something told me to look at the good but I trusted them eager to get home. I'm not sure if I would be coming back. Please people check your food, don't trust the process.
