What a beautiful church. An important location for our family - where grandparents married in the 20s. Wonderful quiet place to stop in to reflect. Tranquil time for prayer.

Such a wonderful Catholic church full of history and amazing architecture. The speedy Saturday evening mass had a great sermon during Lent and very relatable.

Very very beautiful church! I felt very safe and close to god here. This is the best church in Washington DC. I recommend going here ๐Ÿ’–

Beautiful historical church downtown DC. The congregation is neighborly & kind. I studied RCIA here, converted, and participated in the Eucharist for the first time all here. I cherish the living beauty at this place that is so permeated by Christโ€™s message and love.

There's always something special about visiting churches with this much history. Simply one of my favorite places of worship in the city. Beautiful and so well preserved. Can just imagine people praying here back in the 1800s. So thankful to be able to get holy water for my elderly parent that has been doing mass at home since Covid started just after they came home from hospital. Prayers and blessings one and all. Mass is 12:10pm week days.

I didn't get a chance to go inside, but it was definitely beautiful from the outside.

A beautiful building, though I must admit my disappointment with the iconoclasm done in the last 40 years - the chancel is noticably empty and bare. Votive shrines and side altars create a prayerful atmosphere. I did not attend Holy Mass.

Traveling to DC checking out the city. My mother, little brother and I walked in (weโ€™re not a family really tied to any religion very open minded and agnostic I would say) to check out the place and itโ€™s extreme beauty and architecture and stained glass and a kind man opened the door into the main part of the church, didnโ€™t say anything about the water my mom had in her hand. We took a picture looked around. A very rude older man said get those things out of here super nastily, us thinking he meant the cell phones. We left right away. Mustโ€™ve been an owner or a higher up. Very un-Christian like if you ask me. He couldโ€™ve said can you please take your drinks out of here. There are no signs indicating no drinks or food allowed. Just no reason to be nasty, yet he was. Iโ€™m no one special, but I have respect and morals. Says a lot about who runs this place!

The church was open for daily mass. There are plenty of saint statues around the sanctuary to venerate. I was thankful to find my patron, Saint Thomas More, was there for some consolation. A very welcoming and beautiful atmosphere for quiet contemplation.

My wife and I were visiting Washington DC for a weekend and went to 8:00am mass on Sunday. Our hotel was a 15 minute walk from the church. This is a beautiful Catholic church and the mass was nice but the only thing that was strange was there was no music at all. I found that very different from the Catholic Churches we go to in Michigan. Maybe the person in charge of music was sick or not available. There was hardly any people in attendance for the mass, Iโ€™m not sure if that is normal or not.

Very beautiful gothic church that was built for the Irish migrants who helped build the Capitol. The stained glass windows are a marvel, as are the side altars. The main altar suffered a bad renovation and now looks a bit weird, but nothing in this world is perfect. One can only wondered what it once looked like... A good place to receive our Lord in the Eucharist with weekday 12:10 Masses. A recommend for those who enjoy liturgical architecture, art, history or wish to see a place of worship for the Irish-American community here in DC.

It's only 0.4 miles from Marriott Marquis and across Ford's Theater. It's walking distance to The Mall, Washington Museum, and the White House. Sunday mass was at 8 am and the door was open by 7:30 am.
